Chapter 2298: Two Solutions.
Chapter 2298: Two Solutions.
The second solution was to master the first three divine abilities of a pathway to 50%. This will reduce the stress of the three divine flesh on the body during advancement and make it unlikely for the pathway they belong to to clash with the other pathway.
In both cases, the first pathway is the pathway that they have no influence over. They must first advance the pathway that they don’t have an innate ability or mastery of to the epic rank. As long as they can survive this step, the second pathway that they have influence over won’t give them trouble.
Compatible innate ability and mastery of divine abilities are the two solutions they gained to solve the issue of death when slaves with two pathways try to advance their second pathway to the epic rank, but neither of solution is easy to execute.
A compatible innate ability is something rarer than having the potential to have four pathways. That means it is more possible for someone with 12 souls to exist than for someone with an innate talent that is compatible with their pathway to exist.
It is known that to have an innate ability that is compatible with a pathway means that one can become a godling without the help of the authority of the pathway. But even those with a compatible innate ability rarely try to have more than one pathway because they will be risking their immense potential.
The good news is that they check if someone has an innate ability that is compatible with their pathway by asking them. The bad news is that they can’t go around asking people for such important information without expending a lot of effort.
The extra bad news is that people with compatible innate ability might not be godclads because they don’t have enough souls to become one, and even if they were godclads, they might not have enough souls to have two pathways.
All of these made them conclude that searching for people with compatible innate abilities is like searching for a needle in a haystack. They decided to use the second solution instead.
The second solution involves helping their slaves to achieve mastery. This will require spending a lot of time and resources, such as energy and water, but at least the reward for their effort is certain compared to the uncertainty of searching for people with compatible innate abilities.
If they had a way to determine the innate ability of people before they become godclads, they would have used the first solution by helping those people become godclads with the pathway that matches them.
But people don’t know their innate ability until they become godclad. By then it is already too late if the pathway is not compatible and if they don’t have the potential to take on a second pathway. So Legion decided not to spend much time on it.
If they could share their own mastery with their slaves, things would have been easier. But they couldn’t do that.
Even if they could, they would have to train the divine abilities first. If they did that, it would delay their own training. So there was no easy way to speed up the process of helping their slaves acquire 50% mastery of their divine abilities.
Legion didn’t give up, though. They kept looking for a way to speed up the mastery of divine abilities. The fact that they didn’t know about such a way didn’t mean that there was none.
They searched for a long time without anything to show for it. This inevitably slowed their project of having slaves with two pathways. But they weren’t discouraged.
Legion-1 said, “At most, we will go around and enslave godclads with two epic pathways. If we can’t make them ourselves, we will just steal them.”
With their mind made up, they continued their research with unwavering determination. They were determined mostly because if they found a solution, it might be useful to them too.
They didn’t find a solution, but what they discovered along the way was that they weren’t the only ones searching for a shortcut to increase mastery of divine abilities. What’s more, most of the people searching were powerful figures, not weaklings looking for a quick way to acquire strength.
Many of the people searching for this shortcut were epic people at rank 6. They were searching for this shortcut to mastery because the minimum requirement to survive the advancement to rank 7 is to have 50% mastery in every divine ability from rank 1 to rank 6.
Anyone who has met the advancement requirement to advance can attempt to advance. But everyone knows that meeting the advancement requirements doesn’t mean that they will survive the process.
The process of advancing to rank 4 is very dangerous because the body will be modified. The process of advancing to rank 7 is extra dangerous because the body will be modified again.
During the first modification of the body, the body becomes mutated by 50%. So an epic godclad will be teetering on the edge of losing control. It is why it was very easy for Captain Sheckel to give up control of her body and mutate.
But things become worse when epic beings advance on the legendary stage. At that point, they become more divine flesh than human.
Luck can help someone survive the advancement to the epic stage. But no amount of luck can help to survive when most of someone’s existence is divine flesh. They have to have at least 50% mastery of the six divine flesh in their bodies, or they will die.
This requirement is already harsh, but it is only for godclads with just one pathway. Those with two pathways or more are in a more precarious situation.
The more they read about the difficulties that those with two pathways will face when advancing, the more solemn Legion became.
Legion-1 said, “No wonder so many powerful people are looking for a way to speed up the mastery of divine abilities.”
