GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2473: Three Steps To Godlings.

Chapter 2473: Three Steps To Godlings.

The first requirement they have to meet in order to become godlings is to have an innate talent that is compatible with the pathway and has reached 100% in its mastery and usage.

The compatibility of an innate talent and its mastery of 100% are mutually exclusive. One cannot exist without the other. This is why they are counted as one requirement.

Only innate talents that are compatible with one’s pathway can reach a mastery of 100%. So angels that are missing a compatible innate talent cannot meet this requirement.

The second requirement is to reach 100% mastery of every divine ability in the pathway. So the average mastery of divine abilities from rank 1 to rank 9 must be 100%.

The third and most important requirement that they have to meet before they can become godlings is to advance the status of the innate talent to the level of a divine ability by imbibing a divine fragment.

An innate talent is oftentimes a passive ability. It rarely scales with spiritual power, so its power can’t increase with the increase in spiritual power.

Innate talents also rarely make use of spiritual energy. Their advantage is that even mortals that aren’t godclads have them and can use them.

The disadvantage is that innate talents can’t grow and lose out on potential. They will remain the same even when the person who possesses them becomes an angel.

The goal of their quest to become godclads is to unleash the potential and power of their innate talent. They can do this by upgrading it with a divine fragment.

Once the innate talent has been upgraded, it will gain an active component or another effect that is linked to its original ability. They will also be able to become godlings, who are called minor or small gods.

As important as this requirement for divine fragment is, there are many ways to fulfill it. Angels can get divine fragments from the Authority of their pathway, or they can get them by killing other godlings, or they can get them by eating the souls of gods.

The first option is the easiest option. As angels of the pathway, if they can gain the favor of their authority of their pathway, it will share its power with them, and they will be able to become godlings.

The process of gaining the favor of the authority of the pathway can be a little bit complicated and tedious, as it can be problematic to find what will gain the favor of the authority of the pathway.

Despite this potential for complications, this option is still the easiest option of the three. In fact, it can be straightforward to fulfill this option by finding the authority of the pathway, touching it, and then stealing the divine fragment from it.

The way that this option can be met can be simple or complicated, but this process of gaining the favor of the authority of the pathway can become impossible to fulfill, which is the case if there is a god in the pathway that controls the authority of the pathway.

Once there is a god in the pathway, it becomes impossible to do something to gain the favor of the pathway or steal a divine fragment from it. One will have to do something to gain the favor of the god or defeat the god to steal the divine fragment from them.

In some cases, gods actually bestow divine fragments on talented angels that they like. This is how subordinate gods are created.

Subordinate gods are the equivalent of godlings. The difference is that one of them has freedom while the other one is bound to the god that gave them power and can be possessed by that god.

Legion knows that the god of justice is fond of creating subordinate gods. This was because he rarely moved around himself and needed vessels to act on his behalf.

Of course, that was in the past. The god of justice has become free now and can act anyhow he wants now.

For Legion, this option of gaining the favor of the authority of the pathway is still feasible for them because there is no god in their pathway. In fact, there is no god in all four pathways that they chose, so they have the chance of gaining four divine fragments.

If they had a god in their pathway, they might not have a choice in the matter and might have to become a subordinate god of their god after becoming an angel. This would have happened to them if they had gone on the pathway of machinery.

In the past, when they were mortals and just invented the electromagnetic induction theory, the god of steam and machinery had offered them this option. They had rejected the offer so that they wouldn’t have to become the slave of a mere godling.

But if they really had a god in their pathway and had no choice of gaining the favor of the authority of the pathway, they could also steal the divine fragments from other godlings by killing them or steal the divine fragments in the divine souls of gods.

As they are right now, they have met the first requirement to become godlings and are on their way to meet the second requirement. As for the third requirement, all three options to meet it are feasible for them.

They don’t know what to do to gain the favor of the authority of the pathway of slavery, so they want Legion-7, Legion-8, and Legion-9 to find that information while simultaneously looking for the authority of the pathway so that they can steal the divine fragment directly.

They don’t mind taking away the authority of the pathway of slavery once they find it. But they will be content with stealing a divine fragment from it for now if the authority of the pathway of slavery is something like the Mind Palace that can’t be touched or taken away easily.
