Chapter 2507: Prey Turns Ambusher.
Their Invisibility Shield divine ability didn’t work on the vessel because the god of dreams was the direct controller. They couldn’t hide from the gaze of the god of dreams, which meant that they couldn’t sneak attack the vessel.
The vessel was still stunned by the sudden appearance of Legion-10. And when he saw the divine ability of a killer, he decided to run.
He chose to run because he now knew that Legion-10 was a rank 9 angel of telepathy. This meant that there was very little he could do to harm Legion-10.
The god of dreams didn’t want to risk his vessel, so he made it escape. His plan was to create some distance between the vessel and Legion-10 for now. Then he would respond with an attack of his own.
But Legion-10 wasn’t going to give him a chance. As the vessel entered the Mindscape, Legion-10 used the Imprison divine ability on him. This caused spiked black chains to erupt from their hand and ensnare the vessel.
Once the black chains wrapped around the vessel, the Disable divine ability took effect. All the Disable divine ability needed was contact with the target to take effect, and the Imprison divine ability fulfilled that requirement.
The god of dreams realized that the vessel wasn’t going to be able to escape. So his surprise at Legion’s abilities quickly turned into anger.
He roared at Legion-10, “How dare you? How dare you attack me?”
Already, he is burning all the dreams of the legends and demigods that he used to anchor his power to the vessel and increase his power temporarily. He was doing this in order to manifest part of his body in the Mindscape directly around his vessel.
He was hoping to delay Legion-10 for as much as possible so as to amass power. But Legion-10 wasn’t going to give him the time he needed.
Legion-10 could sense danger fast approaching. So he decided to stop holding back. He used the Blood Sacrifice divine ability immediately.
In fact, Legion-10 went all out to the extent that he burned his whole existence and converted it into a sacrifice to fuel the Blood Sacrifice divine ability.
He did this instead of using the life energy they had harvested from so many people in the Hydra Kingdom. Even though he was just one person, the attack created by burning himself was still very powerful.
The attack was so powerful that the red bolt of lightning that he created struck the vessel, destroyed his body, destroyed his soul, and struck the true body of the god of dreams in the dream realm.
The vessel is normally independent of the god of dreams. But the god of dreams has been controlling it ever since the Mind Palace was taken by Legion. So there was a connection between the vessel and the god of dreams.
The god of dreams had strengthened this connection by infusing part of his existence and power into the vessel in order to elevate its power to the limit of the sequence. But this didn’t do anything good when it mattered. It even backfired when the Blood Sacrifice divine ability was used.
The Blood Sacrifice divine ability followed every living connection to the target in order to root out the target. It wouldn’t stop in its endeavor to kill its target completely until it ran out of power or until its target ran out of avatars and clones.
So once it was used, the attack also struck the god of dreams and cut deep into him. The wound that the Blood Sacrifice divine ability created was minimal, but the loss that it caused to the god of dreams was immense.
The god of dreams stood in the dream realm with his eyes blazing with anger. He was very angry because he had lost his vessel. Not only that, he had also lost the first angel of telepathy and all the legends and demigods that he used to anchor his power to the vessel.
He had burned their minds for power in his attempt to interfere directly in the fight with his body, so they died. And apparently, while Legion-10 was fighting the vessel, he also made sure to kill the first angel of telepathy.
Despite how he had focused on the vessel, the death of the angel of telepathy was Legion’s priority. Now that the first angel of telepathy was dead, the god of dreams couldn’t find them anymore. So the god of dreams had the right to be very angry.
Unfortunately, no matter how angry he got, there was nowhere to vent it. This was because the dream island he was tracking was gone.
This only made him angrier. But he was also confused. In fact, he still couldn’t believe what had just happened.
“So he is an angel of telepathy, an angel of killing, and an angel of undying. He also has the divine abilities of the pathway of slavery and the pathway of error. He has to be a thief.”
“But why would he kill himself? Why would he sacrifice his life for one attack?”
The god of dreams couldn’t in any way believe that his enemy was an angel in three pathways. He was more inclined to believe that Legion-10 was an angel of stealing who stole the divine abilities of so many angels. This option was more reasonable and plausible.
But he couldn’t understand why Legion would give up his life just like that. He also couldn’t understand why the Mind Palace didn’t appear after its current controller died.
After thinking about it, he said, “He must have used a trick on me. He must still be alive somewhere.”
His eyes became steely balls of wounded up determination as he said, “No matter where you run to, I will find you.”
He was in a bad mood, but Legion was in a very good mood. They had eliminated the one person who could track them, and they had eliminated the last trace in the dream realm that the god of dreams could use to find them.
