Chapter 2516: Proof of Sincerity.

Making an oath with his divine fragment and the authority of another pathway means that if he breaks the oath, he will lose his divine fragment, fall to the level of angel and die because his existence is incomplete.

It is the divine fragment that is keeping him alive right now. Without it, he will die.

But if he somehow survives the loss of the divine fragment, the authority of the god of disaster will strike him and kill me to make sure that he dies for breaking the oath.

The process will be fast, but it will be very expensive. This shows just how much the god of nobles is willing to help, and this deserves some sincerity in exchange.

So the half god of killing swore the oath. Then he was taken away by the god of disaster to recreate his divine body.

The divine body is the body of godlings and gods. It is the permanent divine beast form, not the human form he is currently wielding.

Such a body will have divine power and all of his divine abilities. Most importantly, such a body will be able to produce and store divine energy. This way, he won’t be a glass canon anymore and will stop being in danger of dying after prolonged exertion.

Once he gets his divine body, his power will skyrocket. Then he will have the best chance of recovering the Ocean of Blood.

The angel of killing that will have to lay down his life for all of these to he achieved is the remaining avatar of the plant avatar that survived. The main body of that angel of killing was killed during the clash between the god of disaster and the god of justice.

Technically, the god of disaster should have healed the angel of killing and helped him recover since that was one of the promises made when the angel of killing was recruited. But the god of disaster has been holding back on fulfilling his promise because he didn’t want to offend the god of guardians by helping an angel of killing that could disrupt his plan.

However, things have changed now. Instead of spending a lot of resources to help the angel of killing recover, only to risk angering the god of guardians and gaining nothing from it, the god of disaster can spend the same amount of resources to help the previous god of killing.

The first option is like throwing money away, while the second one is an investment with a high chance of returns. Both will cost him the same amount of resources, so it is clear which one he is going for.

In fact, by helping the half god of killing recover his divine body, he is also helping the angel of killing and fulfilling his promise. So he is killing two birds with one stone. This is why he suggested using this method to recreate the divine body of the half god of killing instead of using the free, but tedious process of gathering the pieces of divine flesh one by one.

Meanwhile, Legion had finished making their preparations for the Ocean of Blood. One of the things that they were arguing about was whether they needed to fight for the Ocean of Blood at all.

For a while, it was up for debate if they had to fight the giant godling now or wait some more. They had two reasons for this.

The first reason was that they could sense that the Ocean of Blood had begun to search for them and was moving closer to them. This meant that they didn’t have to go looking for the Ocean of Blood. They could just wait, and it would come to them.

The second reason that they decided to wait was that the speed at which the Mind Palace was fusing with them had sped up. For some reason, what should have taken a year to complete now needed just 6 months.

They suspect that the increase in the speed of fusion is because their existence has become bigger and can accommodate more of the large Mind Palace faster than they could before. So if they waited for a few more months, they would be able to become the god of telepathy and would be able to easily defeat the giant godling.

But they eventually decided to go and get the Ocean of Blood now for three reasons. The first reason is that the Ocean of Blood is trapped and can’t come to them. So no amount of waiting will be enough for it to get to them.

The second reason is that they have nothing permanent to lose and a lot to gain if they make the attempt now. At most, they will fail and will have to spend some energy resurrecting their clone. But if they win, they will gain the Ocean of Blood and a divine fragment.

The final and most important reason why they decided to attack now was that they were running out of time. ANNIHILATION could come for them at any moment, so they don’t have time to waste. If they can get the Ocean of Blood now, they should try to.

This last reason is why their debate on whether they should attack now didn’t take long to settle. Once their mind was settled, they sent two clones to fight the godling.
