Chapter 2517: Giant’s Power.

They sent Legion-2 and Legion-3. Legion-1 stayed back because they couldn’t afford to lose all three clones of a pathway at the same time. If that were to happen, they would lose the pathway forever.

They didn’t bother to send any other clones to assist Legion-2 and Legion-3 because only the clones of the pathway of killing are at the godling rank. So, if the two of them can’t take down one godling, it is unlikely that they will be able to take him down with more angels.

The two clones quickly arrived in the spiritual dimension through the Mindscape. They arrived very close to the Ocean of Blood and didn’t have to go looking for it like before.

Like they planned, Legion-2 stepped forward first and alone. He went alone to fight to test the power of the godling and to avoid exposing the existence of their cloned nature for as long as possible.

When he moved within 100 kilometers of the Ocean of Blood, the giant finally sensed them. He opened his eyes and stared at them.

His eyes first showed curiosity. He wanted to know who had the audacity to approach him.

When he saw Legion, his curiosity changed to surprise. This was because he couldn’t sense their pathway, but he could see that they had the divine body of a killer, so they should be a godling killer.

His surprise was immense because a godling killer shouldn’t exist, and if they exist, they should have a large aura and obvious presence. If what he had seen was the divine body of an undying godclad, he wouldn’t be surprised that he couldn’t sense them. But this isn’t an undying godclad, so he began to suspect that he was in an illusion.

However, his suspicion of being in an illusion was quickly discarded. This was because he had the true sight of a true god, and the true god that it was borrowed from is very powerful, so at the very least, he should be able to tell if he was seeing an illusion.

Since this godling killer is real, it means that a godling had suddenly appeared in the pathway of killing without his knowledge. This, too, was surprising and difficult to believe. After all, the god of justice was supposed to have done a good job eliminating every killer who had a chance of accomplishing this.

So he asked Legion-2, “Who are you? Are you the half god of killing?”

But he shook his head, saying, “No. You can’t be him. You’re different.”

So he changed his question, “Are you the new angel of killing that was nearly killed by the god of justice? Which god is supporting you now?”

Legion-2 didn’t reply. Instead of replying, Legion-2 asked, “Who are you and why are you blocking the way to the Ocean of Blood? What is there to gain by doing this?”

The giant became stunned when he heard their question. Then he laughed.

As he laughed, he said, “You don’t know, which means you’re not being supported by a god. But if you’re not supported by a god, how did you become a godling killer and find the Ocean of Blood? Surely you couldn’t have survived by luck, achieved your power by luck, and found the Ocean of Blood by luck.”

Legion said, “By your tone of voice, you should also be supported by a god. Does that mean you’re a subordinate god? If so, what god is supporting you?”

The giant grinned playfully and said, “So ignorant and yet so powerful. An oddity and a paradox. This is interesting.”

Then he shook his head and said, “As interesting as it may be, your path ends here. Go back and live what is left of your door divine life in peace. Don’t be greedy for what you can’t acquire, or you will die here and lose everything.”

He was being sincere with his warning, but Legion-2 refused to back down. Instead of retreating, Legion-2 continued to step forward and said stubbornly, “I won’t know if I can acquire the Ocean of Blood unless I try.”

The giant sighed in pity and said, “I’m guessing that you are talented. And I’m guessing that you have at least six souls, so your divine power must be decent. But that is not going to be enough to defeat me.”

He pointed at himself and said, “I have three souls. But I have a powerful god supporting me, and that makes all the difference.”

“You cannot win. Go back and get the support of a god. When you try to, you will fail to get the support of any god because even gods recognize the hopelessness of the situation and don’t want to get involved.”

Legion-2 didn’t believe the boasting of the giant completely, but he had to admit that there was some truth to the boasting, only for the fact that the giant was able to see him even when he was under the cover of the Invisibility Shield.

This kind of situation is something that Legion has only encountered with the vessel of the god of dreams and with the god of dreams himself. Now that they were experiencing the same thing with this giant, they have a good reason to believe that the giant is truly supported by a god.

But Legion-2 still wasn’t willing to give up. He thought to himself, “You’re good. But let me see just how good you are.”

He used the Identify Information divine ability. This time, it worked on the giant, unlike the time it failed when they used it against the angel of knowledge.
