Chapter 1966: Not Wanting To Wade In

Azief did not use his telepathy or Divine Sense to inform anyone

In a way, this is his way of protecting himself and others.

Some people thought just because you could use your Divine Sense, you would use it to do some kind of telepathy communication.

And they were right…up until a certain point

Instead, there is a lot that could be lost in translation. Even more so when a superior being trying to establish contact with your psychic force.

The best way Azief could describe it is like a mortal trying to peer through the minds of a divine being.

The worst thing that could happen is that one could even be affected and the brain exploded because it could not withstand such pressure.

There is a saying that one could not see the Divine directly.

Even more so, when you try to divine the thought of such being.

If you are not at the same level, then when a powerful being initiates mind contact with you, if you let it go deep enough, then it would harm you.

Not to mention sometimes, it could be lost in translation.

And Azief right now is in an unstable state. It would not be kind of him if he initiated psychic contact and then accidentally hurt people

However, because of the current communication, there is a problem. All of the six great powers including the Order of Thinkers has been informed of Azief return.

This is actually sensitive time for Pandemonium and any such claims that Death Monarch is on someplace else is met with a little bit of skepticism even more so when the one relaying this matter is also someone related to Pandemonium

To this, Azief could only blame these politicians for thinking too much

League of Freedom is one of the seven world powers that did not bother to even send delegation and even send any envoys to confirm these matters

It did not mean they didn’t believe it.

It is more like self-preservation. They did not want to wade in this mud. And they have the perfect excuse.

Their excuse right now is that they are fighting the Dragon Kings of the Ten Seas.

League of Freedom probably has another reason not to seem too eager to meet with him

Azief once cut off Narleod arm for his impudence. Azief did not think Narleod would be that happy to welcome him or even see him

He is madman that one.

And at times his action seems impulsive, but he has great determination and he could endure many things others could not.

But the most important reason is none other than the fact that there is no benefit for League of Freedom to enter this maelstrom.

Whether Death Monarch returns or not, whether Pandemonium is in chaos or not, League of Freedom would continue to do what they are doing, and their actions would not change because of the changes of Pandemonium.

As long as they are not dragged into a global war, they could not care less about what happens in Pandemonium.

But these seven continents are the continent with the most humans. Populated. With cities and civilization.

Outside of these seven continents are wild lands.

Not because it is full of wild creatures. It is because those who are outside of these seven continents have their own rules.

And some of those rules are barbaric when compared to one living in a civilized world. The absence of laws for example.

Azief did not care about those wild lands and those wild factions. But he did notice the Republic reaction.

The Republic is unusually silent.

Azief did not have to say anything and those in the Republic also did not have to send any message.

When Azief made himself known, they all knew that someone would come.

The republic did not send anyone not because they were trying to stay out of it or they are trying to despise him

Instead, it is because they knew someone else would come and they did not need to send anyone.

Azief knows Katarina will come.

He just did not expect that Katarina did not come even after three days.

That is concerning.

It is not that Azief is so conceited that he thought Katarina would fly towards him and drop everything the moment she heard he was back.

But he knew that she would. Because of the circumstances he is in.

He believes that Katarina is looking for him. Others did not know he went to meet Wargod, but Katarina knew. If that is the case, then why would she not come

But now she is not coming. Not only did she not come, but there was also no contact. So, Azief is a little worried.

“She would not be like this. It would not be her” they share a few moments together but just a few moments together bind their hearts like never before.

It is really hard to describe it. What he has with Katarina is different from what he had with Sofia.

She hides pain behind her smile.

And that smile is a smile she did not show to many people. She only shows it to him and her brother.

Her brother is family. And he is her beloved. She is a woman that is trying to learn how to love. And sometimes, she expresses it the wrong way.

Because of the kind of love she learns, she learns from her brother

To her, love is protecting someone.

Is that the only definition of love? No. But that is what love is to her. Because her brother has been protecting her, her whole life.

It is only after the Fall, that this flips around. Katarina has a pure heart. A pure heart doesn’t mean a good heart. It means just that

Pure in obsession.
