Chapter 6497: The Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s Sectmaster Appears

The Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s main city was under the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s control. It was sealed off by a humongous barrier, which showed how highly the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion regarded it.

But Chu Feng felt a response from his key fragments. They were linked to an even more powerful formation hidden here—the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s formation.

“Did the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion construct this barrier to guard against me? Unfortunately, you have miscalculated.” Chu Feng looked at his key fragments and smiled in glee.

This saved him a lot of trouble.

“What’s the matter, Chu Feng?” Eggy asked.

“With these key fragments, the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion can’t hope to stop me.”

Chu Feng tightly grasped his key fragments. Teleportation energy enveloped him, and he was transported into a vast city.

He rose into the air to take a look. The city was so huge that he couldn’t see the ends of it, except for the massive gate and the city walls behind him. Despite his current cultivation level, he felt insignificant here.

“Chu Feng, did you succeed?” Eggy exclaimed.

Chu Feng had entered the main city with not just his consciousness but his physical body.

The exquisite constructions around had been painstakingly constructed by world spiritists. Without a doubt, this had to be the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s main city.

Chu Feng attempted to fly ahead, but he was soon enveloped by teleportation energy and transported back to his original position.

“Looks like it wasn’t a success,” Chu Feng replied.

He was trapped in this area, evident by how he was automatically teleported back to his original position when he stepped out of a demarcated area.

“Why are you here, Chu Feng? You have yet to collect all the key fragments,” an old man’s voice echoed from behind.

Chu Feng turned around and saw a two-meter-tall man wearing a snowy robe and holding onto a white jade walking cane floating in mid-air.

“Junior pays respect to Elder Sikong.” Chu Feng hurriedly bowed.

This man was Sikong Changsheng, an expert of the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect. He wasn’t just a formation entity but a living being. Chu Feng had met him when he acquired his first key fragment.

“State the reason you’re here,” Sikong Changsheng said coldly.

His attitude was much more formal compared to the first conversation they had.

Chu Feng opened his palm and revealed three key fragments. “Elder, all the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s remnants have been breached, but the other two key fragments have fallen into someone else’s hand. I have only managed to obtain three.”

“You want to ask if you can obtain our Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s legacy with just three key fragments?” Sikong Changsheng asked.

“That’s right,” Chu Feng replied.

“Impossible. You have to collect all five key fragments and forge the complete key to obtain the legacy here. Otherwise, you aren’t qualified,” Sikong Changsheng replied.

“Elder, I’m afraid that I’m unable to obtain the other two keys any time soon, and the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s legacy might never be claimed. I’ll have to enter the Ninth Galaxy, and if I do so with the key fragments, others won’t have a chance to enter the main city.

“The Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect left its legacy here for those in need of it. It’s the same thing whether you give it to someone else or me. Why don’t you make an exception and give it to me instead?” Chu Feng asked.

“You want me to make an exception? Give me a reason why I should do so,” Sikong Changsheng asked.

“Well...” Chu Feng thought hard but couldn’t think of a reason. Bragging about his talent here wouldn’t work, since Sikong Changsheng already knew about his talents. In the end, he said, “We came from the same place.”

Sikong Changsheng shook his head, not saying a word.

“Elder, is there no way around it?” Chu Feng asked once more.

“There’s no way around it,” Sikong Changsheng replied.

“Thank you for your guidance, elder. I’ll be taking my leave.” Chu Feng bowed before turning around to leave.

“Who says there’s no way around it?” an old woman’s voice echoed.

“Who is it?” Sikong Changsheng eyed his surroundings warily.

He had made a special exception to permit Chu Feng’s entry; no one else should be able to enter this place. Yet, he couldn’t find anyone despite searching the area.

“Sikong Changsheng, you can’t even recognize my voice?” the old woman’s voice echoed once more.

Space distorted, and a translucent soul entity appeared in mid-air.

It was an old woman with white hair that ended with a rainbow tip. Despite her old age, her skin remained as smooth as jade. She was beautiful and dignified. She must have been gorgeous in her younger years.

A seven-colored gemstone was embedded in her forehead. It was the sheer power of the gemstone that kept her soul from dissipating.

Sikong Changsheng was momentarily stunned to see the old woman before hurriedly falling to his knees and greeting, “Sikong Changsheng pays respect to Lord Sectmaster!”

Chu Feng hurriedly did the same as well. “Junior Chu Feng pays respect to elder.”

This was the same old woman who had provided Chu Feng with the clue of ‘Nurture’ and ‘Plunder’ in the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s remnant. Wen Xue had said that she was the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s sectmaster, Shangguan Fengquan.

The person whom Chu Feng had met in the remnant was a formation entity, but this soul was the real deal. It might not be Shangguang Fengquan’s main body, but it had the consciousness of the main body.

“Time is truly harsh. You were just a junior in our sect back then, but you have grown so old.” Shangguan Fengquan drifted over and raised her palm.

Sikong Changsheng understood her gesture and stood up. “I didn’t expect to be able to meet Lord Sectmaster again. How have you been, Lord Sectmaster?”

His voice was quivering in excitement, and his eyes brimmed with tears.

Shangguan Fengquan was already at the limit of her lifespan when she left back then. Even though the Shangguan Fengquan before him was not the main body, the fact that she could control this soul entity meant that she was still alive.

“I’m doing well,” Shangguan Fengquan replied with a smile. “Is the Dragon Imprisonment Orb still here?”

“Yes, it’s still here.” Sikong Changsheng hurriedly took out an orb.

The orb was oval in shape, and it was around the size of a watermelon. It was enveloped in a formidable layer of spirit power, emanating the Ancient Era’s aura.

Shangguan Fengquan took the Dragon Imprisonment Orb before turning to Chu Feng. “Chu Feng, I can grant you an opportunity, but it’s up to you whether you want to take it or not.”

“I’ll take it,” Chu Feng replied.

“Don’t be so quick to answer me. Sealed within this orb is the fragmented consciousness of a true dragon. Fragmented as it is, it harnesses incredible power. Even I am unable to do anything about it as long as it’s in the vicinity of its lair. If you can lure it out of its lair, I’ll be able to subdue it. Your mission is to lure the true dragon’s fragmented consciousness out of its lair.

“There is a real risk of being killed by the true dragon. Even so, are you still willing to take on this mission?” Shangguan Fengquan asked.

“Yes, I’m willing to take on this mission,” Chu Feng replied.

Shangguan Fengquan narrowed her eyes. “It seems like you truly don’t fear death.”

“I fear death, but there’s something I have to do.”

“Fine. Follow me,” Shangguan Fengquan said.

Chu Feng’s surroundings morphed. He was transported out of the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect to a lush plain. In the distance was a mountain emanating a powerful aura that warped even the surroundings.

That had to be the dragon lair.

Beside Chu Feng were Shangguan Fengquan and Sikong Changsheng.
