MMORPG: Rise of the Peerless Pumpkinmancer

Chapter 426: Slaughtering Newborns!

Chapter 426: Slaughtering Newborns!

Jack felt ecstasy…

[Obtained 10 Life Energy!]

[Obtained 10 Life Energy!]

[Obtained 10 Life Energy!]

Every time his claws ripped a newborn apart, he felt his vitality go up. In mere instants his shaking footsteps turned into ones of a mighty conqueror, even him losing himself in the feeling.

It was like being reborn once more, tears almost escaping him for real. This quest, this world, this mission was akin to the him in the real world coming back even stronger!

So what if he started from the bottom again? So what if right now he was simply considered a crazy player? He’d reach the top again, and this time he’d shine so brightly no one could ignore him!

He’d—

That’s when he froze, his heart skipping a beat. How had he gone from happily slaughtering to being so emotional?! And that’s when he saw it: in the spectator stand, a certain Shaman was glowing!

His scaly hand was powerfully summoning a pinkish beam that was aimed straight at his heart! What kind of crazy technique was that to even affect him that much?!

[Ding! All-Revealing Heart Mantra Ray!]

[Everything Will be Exposed!]

[Are You Ready For It?]

Ready? NOPE!

That’s when he understood.

This Arena was FAR from a simple test!

It was one thing to dominate, but he couldn’t show that he still had his memories either, or he’d be screwed! If he kept going like that, he’d definitely be in for a lobotomy in the near future!

Jack who had been about to use all his skills to easily end the fight found a crisis! He had to win, but not as a human! How would a lizard go about this?!

’No, seriously. How am I supposed to do this?!’

’It needs to be convincing or else it’s over.’

’It needs to be mighty and RAW!’

This was so goddamn DUMB! Thousands of enemies around him, ones he could easily dispatch with his skills since they were merely younglings, but he couldn’t do so without arousing suspicion!

The only reason the whole parry thing hadn’t gotten him killed was cause he had been hidden in the sea of enemies. Should he dive deep in them to hide again? No, the shaman was suspicious now!

This seemed like such an impossible problem?! So much that even the system chipped in…

[Suggestion! The Host Could Use His New AFK Ability!]

[Warning! This Has a 5% Chance of Success!]

[This— Host Can See This?! Disregard!]

“…..”

That didn’t help him one bit!

As he disregarded it,, digging deep inside his memories, he found himself at an impasse. He knew countless techniques, but none that were lizard-like! This was the greatest surprise test ever.

He who had always operated with his previous life’s knowledge as basis suddenly felt so goddamn lost, and for once he HATED it! He didn’t mind the surprise, he minded his own weakness.

– This? Wouldn’t work.

– That? Even more suspicious!

– What about a warrior technique? Neither.

– Maybe use magic to power up and then— Too obvious!

….

But that’s when he started laughing, finally understanding the problem. Here, his reincarnation WAS the problem. All the techniques he knew? None would work: he’d have to start from scratch!

Or rather, there was one that could potentially work but terrified him to his core. Was it domineering? Yes. Was it that powerful? Not even. Yet, it scared him about as much as dying!

[All-Revealing Mantra Affecting You!]

[All Will Be Exposed! All Will—]

“That’s fine, for now…”

Jack stopped fighting the magic.

Or rather he used his own Mana to help it.

With this, he was suddenly plunged into his own memories, a certain shaman sure to follow not long after. But that just meant he had to resolve everything ASAP!

Blood flowing, suspicious liquids splattering, fire spreading everywhere, and smoke billowing crazily. This sounded like a battlefield, right? No, it was a freaking tavern!

As Jack eyed the sign on the wall, a sigh escaped him.

< The Dancing Undead! >

By all accounts, this was merely a shitty tavern, one not worth remembering, one that had been destroyed and forgotten in the end. Yet, even now he remembered it vividly, especially with the spell.

Jack ignored a confused system, his eyes drawn to the man in the middle. A half-naked man, happily showing his abs, one so naked even a certain Fist Justice Naked Monk in the background kept scowling.

Was this before or after they had started their endless strings of duels? No, right now only the man in the middle mattered, one so boisterous he made the walls quake as he went:

’Hehehe, more beer, keep it flowing! I’m rich.”

“Hehehe, keep the cuties coming too!!”

“Hehehe, that shit’s my jam!”

His jam?! How fucking drunk was this guy?! The music was the same as every goddamn tavern in the area, the cuties were literally gold-digging NPC and the beer wasn’t even that strong?!

That’s when Jack felt a hand grabbing him away.

“C’mon, let’s train already. He’s a fool…”

He was, for sure. Yet, instead of leaving with his friend, Jack powerfully took a step toward the dance floor where the guy was more than happily shaking his ass, happily ignoring the empty mugs thrown at him!

As he saw him, his drunken smile turned into a drunken grin.

“Brother, let’s DANCE! Let’s DRINK! Let’s PARTY!”

That’s when the scene froze, time stopping. The music halted stuck on the same note, mugs floated in the air about to hit their target, and the alcohol smell on the dancing man felt omnipresent.

Seeing this, Jack didn’t show any surprise whatsoever.

Back then he had left with his friend. As for what had happened afterward, he hadn’t personally lived it, only hearing all about it after the fact. But in this vision, he’d change it up!

— WHOOOSHH! WOOSSSHHH! —

As time resumed, Jack instantly moved!

He grabbed a mug about to land on the guy’s head, and in one full sweep motion grabbed a new one from a nearby waitress and downed it! “Dance? Drink? Party? Count me fucking IN!”

That’s all he did. He danced, he drank, and he got merry.

All until the drunk man opened up to him…

“Brotherrrr, you’re FUUUN! Hehehe, lemme, lemme teach ya my secret technique! Lemme teach ya my—” He was already showing his bulging muscles that were now glowing red for some reason?!

Actually, Jack perfectly knew why. This happy drunk had a special class! Taking yet another shot of liquid courage, Jack felt his entire body relax as he breached why he was truly here.

“Brother, tell me all about it! Ah, but not the technique, I already know it!”

“What?! You know it?! Did I teach you? Hehe, I’m AMAZING!”

Even now, Jack remembered the forum post titled: <Smash Infinite Whole!> describing the guy’s technique. No, he wasn’t here for that, he was here for the man himself.

More accurately, he was just here… to actually talk?!

“Tell me, how do you do it? How do you let go…” Jack asked.

That’s when began the weirdest and craziest therapy session ever, one that only someone as obsessed with Infinite would have thought about, a new world opening to him.

The man before him really WAS a fool, the crass and useless kind. Yet, one that would eventually reach the rankings. The more he spoke, the less profound it all felt.

“Hehehe, stop thinking! JUST DO IT!”

“We only have one life! BAM!”

“As they say— Burp!”

Yet Jack kept listening. No, more importantly, he kept talking. He opened up fully, knowing this player-memory turned NPC by the system would soon disappear, none the wiser.

But to anyone else, this didn’t seem like a regular counseling session. No, what the hell was all this?! There was no way they were merely talking, right?!

A tavern on fire…

Waitresses screaming in shock…

Patrons exploding in mists of blood…

Even while talking, the NPC turned rabid, his eyes and muscles glowing with red energy as he destroyed anyone and anything that came in the way of his partying, his mind stuck to that one goal!

Even as the guards appeared, he didn’t stop rampaging. He didn’t stop as the city got destroyed either. He even kept going as a nearby world boss got aggroed, with countless players dying.

And at the end of it all, there were only two party monsters left happily grinning.

“Hehehe, see? We DANCE! We DRINK! We PARTY! We—”

As the man fell asleep, Jack gave a knowing grin.

Would he ever be as carefree as this bastard? Probably not, but he could try. With a wave, the spell shattered, and he found himself back in a sea of bloodthirsty newborn lizards.

As Jack gazed at them all, he suddenly let go of it all.

The always strategizing Herald of Light? Nope.

The ever-scheming Demon King? Gone.

All that was left was a seriously scared youngster. All his life he had been as controlling as possible, but now he had to let the impulse go. This time would be far different.

“I didn’t think I’d ever do this, but here goes nothing….”

That’s when his eyes started glowing… red?!

[Ding! Learned a Berserk Ability?!]

[Adding Berserk To— ERROR?!]

“DANCE! DRINK! PARTY!”

Berserk Jack corrected, but that was the last conscious thing he did. A second later, he started ’partying’ for real, a battlefield dance starting, with limbs flying all over?!

As for the drinking, there was LOTS of delicious blood! Yet, Jack wasn’t AFK this time, but still in his body. He had given control, and yet it was still him tearing the young lizards?!

Either way, it was time for a massacre…
