MMORPG: Rise of the Peerless Pumpkinmancer

Chapter 452: He Drank It ALL?!

Chapter 452: He Drank It ALL?!

Jack already felt sick…

[Ding! Obtaining Lizardmen Memories!]

[WAY too Many Memories!]

[Brace Yourself…]

That’s when it all began.

Jack’s vision went dark, and then it went multicolored. No, it was FAR worse than that: everything was happening everywhere all at once!

He suddenly had the feeling of being in a psychedelic movie about the lives of endless Lizardsmen, one with a director clearly on crack! It went a little like this…

He saw himself as a foot soldier diligently training.

He saw himself as a Lizard Artisan gently carving with his claws.

He saw himself as a Shaman studying curses day and night alike.

He saw himself as a General, leading his lizard army through defeats and victories!

….

[Warning! You’re About to Lose Your Sense Of Self!]

[Warning! So Many Memories Will Alter—]

“Alter me? I’m Jack MF O!”

Jack roared akin to a war cry. But hearing this, the lizards in the memories simply snorted. A human here? They’d overwhelm the bastard and take over his body!

One Lizard general especially showed a vicious smile as he ordered all the others. “Charge, my brethren! One of us, one of us, one of us!” He cackled with evil intent.

At this moment, even Jack couldn’t help but falter under the assault. This was far more than a single Newborn could handle! But, even as he felt his mind crumble, he groaned.

“If that’s how you want to do this, then bring it on!”

That’s when he turned mad.

Instead of fighting, Jack suddenly lowered all his defenses. For a wonderful instant, even the lizard spirits shook, confused by this turn of events. But that’s when he made a move!

“You want to corrupt me? Then COME!” Instead of resisting, he shared his own memories with them! All the memories that made him HIM suddenly came pouring out.

The system was the first to go…

[ERROR! ERROR! ERROR!]

[ERROR! ERROR! ERROR!]

[ERROR! ERROR! ERROR!]

Then, it was the lizards’ turn. They who had been grinning seeing their victory in sight were suddenly overwhelmed by experiences that were far too depressing to handle!

To the foot soldier, he showed the gruesome training he had endured in his previous life. But could it even be called training?! It was abuse! It disappeared in shock.

To the artisan, he showed a broken man carving a wooden statue of a deceased Lilly. The care and the tears shown were enough to make the artisan fall back, moved.

To the Shaman, the endless hours he had spent studying various languages. A dead-tired Herald of Light forcing himself awake, knowing he had a job to accomplish!

But all of that would be useless, for a general still stood strong! So what if that guy was amazing?! He was still human in the end and an enemy! He had to be defeated!

“Bastard, if you think I’ll falter like the others, you’re mistaken!”

Jack gave a knowing smile. In the lizard’s eyes, he could see the same determination he had grown to have. But he knew what to do. To the General, he simply showed himself…

A lizard guiding his fellow Newborns, bringing them to face a behemoth, and finally, him thwarting the Evolution Space because he HATED it!

That’s when he turned to the General…

“I WILL stop the Infinite Invasion.”

The sentence was so simple and yet carried incredible weight. He could either do it from the inside or do it as an enemy! Now, what would the general do about it?

An earth-shattering sigh later, the world suddenly regained its shine. Jack’s eyes opened up to a bunch of despairing youngsters as they kept staring at the depleted liquid.

They were on their knees as if trying to hug the ground.

“T-This.. It’s all gone!”

“Scaly, please give us more!”

“Please have mercy! Our Legion’s already outnumbered!”

They kept imploring, tears streaming down their scales. Did they feel anger? Of course, but they also knew better than to fight Jack directly! Still, they knew they were fucked.

No matter what, Jack wouldn’t be able to face hundreds of Evolved lizards alone! Even if he had gotten a power-up just now, the other Legions were way more dangerous!

Little did they know, Jack hadn’t gotten stronger from consuming those memories! After all, compared to his own, they had been significantly lacking.

But just as they were despairing, he grinned.

“System, this altar’s special, right?”

The question was rhetorical; he could feel it. The Mana oozing out of it was truly peculiar. Anyone else would have cared about the liquid memories, yet it would have been a mistake.

The true treasure here was the altar!

[D-Ding! Discovered Artifact!]

[Reminiscence Altar!]

[?????????]

The system chimed, only to be left feeling confused. What the hell had happened?! This crazy bastard had started drinking the liquid memories, and then— BLANK!

An entire sequence was missing?! And as usual, it had to be Jack’s doing, right? Yet, before the poor System could dive deeper into the issue, the crazy bastard did something insane!

He suddenly raised his arm above the Altar and— SLASH!

Like a professional, Jack slid his arm along the veins, and that’s when a fountain of blood gushed out of him! The blue liquid flowed out, falling into the altar’s bowl.

And it freaking glowed?! Jack’s blood looked like it had stars in it?! So this was what an arcane lizard’s blood looked like, eh? Seeing this, the youngsters gasped, shellshocked.

Jack gave the prostrated and now gasping youngsters a side glance.

“Begging a god? Waste of time. Seize your own destiny instead!”

Akin to a devil, he simply pointed at the bowl containing his blood with a more than demonic smile, his meaning evident. No more memory liquid? Drink this instead!

Hell no! They’d have to be dumb to do that! They all recoiled in fear, their claws already raised in defiance. This was sacrilegious against Scaly! It was—

But just as they were losing their minds, one moved.

A certain three-eyed lizard suddenly found his heart beating. This was insane! Jack had barely slit his wrist, that his third mystical eye had reacted, and he had seen it!

The winds of fate rising up.

The winds of fate engulfing the man.

The winds of fate turning into a goddamn tornado!

And that’s when he knew. If he took Jack up on his offer, his fate would forever change. He didn’t know why, but words suddenly flew on the tip of his tongue.

He found himself murmuring, unable to stop it.

“Bringer of Chaos.”

What kind of crazy title was this?! Yet the lizard before him simply gave him a peaceful glance, appreciatively glancing at his third eye in passing as he spoke softly.

“So you know. Now, what will you choose? In or out?”

He asked gently as if asking him whether he wanted his eggs poached or sunny side up! This was madness! Yet, why was he suddenly finding a grin blossom on his face?!

A certain three-eyed lizard didn’t even reply. He simply stepped up to the crazy altar. Then, he took a single sip.

GULP!

GULP!

GULP!

GULP!

Under shell-shocked eyes, he went to town!

By the side, Jack’s peaceful grin had suddenly changed altogether. Drinking all that much?! Was this guy freaking insane?! At this moment, he suddenly felt for the System.

“You, are you insane?! Do you have a death wish?!”

A certain three-eyed lizard had fucked up…
