Chapter 453: CPR Dude’s Legacy!
Chapter 453: CPR Dude’s Legacy!
A lizard had fucked up…
The effect was almost instantaneous!
The three-eyed lizard had barely drunk Jack’s blood when it began! All of a sudden, he was invaded by countless memories, ones that would have rendered anyone insane!
Then an instant later, he was already on the ground seizuring. He shook even faster than a girl’s greatest vibrator! He shook so much that his scales seemed about to fall!
“Goddamnit, what have you done?!”
Jack couldn’t help but click his tongue as he kneeled beside him. Tch, where was CPR Dude when one needed him?! Watched by the terrified lizard, he started pummeling.
“Stay alive, you dumbass!”
“Stay alive, stay alive!”
“Ah! Ah Ah! Ah!”
He kept pummeling the lizard’s stomach as if trying to murder his gut! At first nothing at all was happening, but then a second later, the lizard started throwing up wildly.
A stream of Jack’s blood flew out of the victim’s mouth, and yet the latter wasn’t out of the woods just yet. No, he was still frothing at the maw, his claws grasping the ground.
He looked like he was having the craziest of nightmares, hell even his third eye kept rolling white in shock. This was bad! What would happen if his first lizard believer died?!
Jack didn’t waste any time, shouting:
“You guys, come over!”
All the poor lizards wanted to do was run, and yet even that felt scary! They knew that angering that madman was a one-way ticket to hell! Sighing, they cautiously approached.
They shouldn’t have.
“DRINK!”
Jack was already pointing at them and the Altar with an authoritative claw. At this moment, they seriously considered rebelling. No way they’d suffer the same fate!
But just as they were about to protest…
“Please! Please do it!” Instead of keeping the intimidation up, Jack actually kneeled before them?! His sincere self was so different than their perception of him that they froze.
And as they did, he explained in one breath. “Right now, all the Altar’s power is focused on him. We need to fix that! All of you, please drink a single drop, nothing more!”
They all shuddered, feeling uncertain.
Even if he seemed sincere, it was still super risky!
What if they ended up collapsing just like their colleague?!
But just as they were endlessly hesitating, one moved forward, his eyes fixed on the three-eyed lizard. “Are you sure this will save him? Are you sure we won’t suffer?”
This one just needed a bit more convincing! A few promises, and he’d willingly dive into the abyss! Yet, Jack did none of it. He honestly answered. “Sure? No…”
Many suddenly took a few steps back! Now, there was no way they’d do it! But before they could, their brethren moved toward the Altar!
“Good, at least you’re an honest psychopath!”
GULP!
GULP!
While he didn’t drink as much as the lizard writhing on the ground, there was no way this was a single drop either! And with a large smile, he, too, collapsed to the ground!
But this time, it was a bit different. While he looked to be struggling with something, he didn’t especially seem in pain, more like he was going through a complex dream?
And it was the moment that changed everything.
“Sigh, might as well. That’s all we have left.”
“Three eyes’ been good to us so far.”
“Can’t let him suffer alone…”
One after the other, a couple of courageous lizards actually stepped forth and started drinking. They couldn’t let their “friend” go through this alone!
Perhaps it was because there were so few of them, but at that moment, they showed way more unity than a regular batch of participants should have!
One after the other, they followed suit, and all drank.
[Ding! Successfully Created a New Cult!]
[They All Drank Poison For You!]
[How Does It Feel to Be Evil?]
“Pfft— Don’t tease me.”
As all slept, Jack and System bantered.
How would many have reacted had they seen the current scene? While most Legions out there were already preparing for whatever war-like challenge awaited, they slept?!
Only the 12th Legion would do something like that!
Yet Jack didn’t have to wait too long. The lizards slowly woke up one after the other, their gazes full of relief, gratitude, and wonder.
How was this possible?! All they had done was drink Jack’s blood, and yet they had seen countless lizard memories?! What kind of magical power did he have?
Seeing their incomprehension, he chuckled…
“It’s the Altar that gave memories. The actual liquid didn’t matter.”
Hearing this was a revelation. So the white liquid hadn’t mattered at all? One just had to drink anything from the Altar to receive the knowledge? How had he guessed it?!
It was utterly false, yet none doubted Jack’s explanation. They were far too busy glancing at a certain three-eyed lizard, one that still slumbered, even as all others awoke.
With the Altar’s power used up a bit, his face was more peaceful, yet he still wasn’t able to wake up. Jack couldn’t help but sigh. “Don’t tell me you’re like Snow White?”
Dozens of lizards all stared at him anxiously. Snow White? What kind of condition was this? The first to drink the blood after Three Eyes was especially concerned.
“Snow White, Sir?!”
“Eh, just a silly tale…”
Under the lizard’s insistence, he briefly explained the plot so that he would know that it was just a remark and not anything serious. Yet, hearing this…
“I understand! Please wake up, soldier. We’ll need your help to fight!” The lizard actually approached fallen three eyes and then— SMOOCH?! What the hell was he doing?!
[Host’s Passing Remarks Have Such Effect?!]
[New Title: Alternative Medicine!]
What?! There was nothing medicinal in this! But just as Jack wanted to protest, a certain unconscious lizard’s eyes suddenly flashed open as he rose to his feet with a jump.
What the hell was up with that timing?! But before Jack could even gasp, a certain lizard was already bowing deeply before him.
“Thank you for your benevolence! This one shall—”
“Enough, just get up already. It’s about to start.”
Jack sighed, cutting it short as he stared at the sky, for a radiant glow had just appeared. Whatever mission they’d have in this realm, it was about to start!
With this, the lizards rose to attention as if soldiers before a war. Well, all beside a certain three-eyed lizard who still couldn’t take his eyes off Jack.
He had seen it. He had seen it ALL!
The cultists plotting his advent in the darkness!
The millions chanting “Herald of Light” in ecstasy!
The countless mythical creatures he had casually slain!
…
A certain three-eyed lizard had even seen something more. Glimpses of another world, one superior to their own, one in which they were nothing but pawns for one’s amusement.
And that’s when he knew. This Jack character? He wasn’t just an Aberration of a Newborn, he wasn’t just an Astral Lizard either, he was an actual god in disguise!
At this moment, he also decided.
Screw Scaly, embrace the Demon King! He would shed everything as long as it could remain by his side. It also knew that there were more of his followers out there.
He would do whatever it took to meet them! For the god that had personally shared his power with him, for the god that could be so humble, he would FIGHT!
“Everyone, get ready. It’s about to start.” And as Jack spoke, he felt his entire being resonate. This was the perfect opportunity, one like no other.
It was time to show his devotion….
