Chapter 1687: Obtaining the Legacy

Chapter 1687: Obtaining the Legacy

“Manaweaver…”

As the young man muttered out the name that was given to him, a number of various ideas on what the legacy contained began to pop up within Valyr’s mind.

Though, as he took a look at the information Ataraxia sent him through their connection, the young man showed no hesitation in discarding those ideas.

After all, none of the ideas he came up with aligned with the information he was receiving from his other self.

Whether it was the various spells that encompassed the four foundational elements, skills and spells that allowed one’s mana to improve, or occupations that mostly focused on the manipulation of mana, all of it was covered by the Manaweaver legacy Ataraxia obtained from the orb.

Of course, seeing as he had yet to obtain his portion of the legacy in the others’ eyes, Valyr made sure to not show the shock he felt from obtaining information on Ataraxia’s part of the legacy.

“Sounds… domineering,” said the young man after gathering his bearings, looking at his other self with a slight smile on his face. “What does the legacy cover if you don’t mind me asking?”

“Spells that have a system of progressions, skills that improved mana capacity and potency, subclasses that focus on improving control over mana… I’d say the amount of information I received is more than enough for Sir Quentin to be called the First Myth.”

Whilst Ataraxia summarized the various bits of information he obtained from the crystal orb in his response, Quentin could not help but look at the young man with a smile on his face.

After all, it was him he was talking about!

“Say… is there a reason why it’s called Manaweaver?” After his other self shared a bit more information on his part of the legacy, Valyr eventually shifted his attention towards Vaughn as he asked him a question that popped up in his mind.

In response, the latter gave him a slightly mysterious smile. “There is. However, you’d be better off hearing it only after you obtain your share of the First Myth’s legacy.”

Feeling that the man had said that to him for his own good, the young man nodded in understanding as he made his way to the crystal orb.

Of course, having already gone through the information Ataraxia gave him from his part of the legacy, Valyr already had an idea as to what kind of legacy he would receive the moment he placed his hand on the crystal orb.

And so, with a hint of anticipation on his face, the young man released his aura out in its entirety.

Whoosh!

Showing no fear in having Vaughn and the others witness his full strength, Valyr went ahead and activated all of the buffing skills he had in his arsenal.

’[Limit Break: Second Verse]!’

’[First Encore]!’

’[Awakening of the Elder Wyvern]!’

’[Manifestation of the Elder Wyvern]!’

Roarrrr…!

In an instant, the aura the young man gave off underwent a massive transformation, making everyone feel as if a wyvern that had weathered through the vicissitudes of time had appeared in front of them.

’[Four Paths Azure Elemental Arts: Raging Azure Phoenix]!’

’[Four Paths Azure Elemental Arts: Enduring Azure Turtle]!’

’[Refined Offense Aura]!’

’[Refined Defense Aura]!’

’[Intent of the Prime Azure]!’

Though, just as Vaughn and the others were beginning to think that the young man had gone all out, Valyr’s aura underwent a second transformation, briefly making them feel as if the latter had broken the shackles of mortality.

’[Soul Unification: 20% Fusion]!’

Only after activating [Soul Unification] at its lowest setting was Valyr truly done with empowering himself, prompting solemn expressions to appear on everyone else’s faces as they felt a slight hint of danger emanating from him.

“Though I’ve already known he has the strength to fight against a Rank 7 Myth at his current level, the amount of strength he currently has… it’s just absurd,” murmured Vaughn to himself, feeling a bit of disbelief at the sight in front of him.

“Although there’s no doubt that I’d be able to win in the end if we were to fight each other, such a level of strength could still pose a threat to me,” said Septeine after that, letting out a sigh of wonder soon after. “Truly deserving of being called the Anomaly.”

’…Alright.’ Oblivious to what the others were saying about him the moment he showcased his full strength in front of them, Valyr slowly placed his hand on the crystal orb, only to then feel a connection form between them.

Whoosh!

At the very instant that connection was formed, the young man soon felt a massive influx of information course through his mind, causing him to blank out for a bit.

At first, the information he received from the orb was somewhat garbled in nature, making it difficult for him to obtain any useful knowledge out of it.

However, once the orb was able to confirm something with him through their connection, the contents of the information immediately changed.

Previously a ton of barely comprehensible information, the orb began to send him information on various skills that aligned with his current combat style.

Focusing more on the control and usage of weapons, the orb continuously sent information on combat skills that already had a system of progression in place, as well as passive skills that improved his control over weapons.

After that, he then began to receive information on classes and subclasses that would be able to improve the power and control he had over his weapons, leaving the young man at a slight loss for words as he continued to process all of the information he was getting.

By the time the orb was done sending information to him, it sent over information on production classes that complemented the path he was currently trekking, as well as a name that summed up all of the information he received.

“Metalbreaker…”

Muttering out the part of the First Myth’s legacy that he obtained from the crystal orb, Valyr eventually let go of his hand from the orb, only to then close his eyes as he went ahead and organized all of the information he obtained into more digestible chunks.

By the time he was done going through all of them, it went without saying that he sent the information he obtained from the orb to his other self, which briefly left the latter at a slight loss for words.

While Ataraxia was browsing through the Metalbreaker legacy he had sent over, Valyr looked at Vaughn once more, voicing out the question he had asked him earlier.

“Manaweaver and Metalbreaker…”

“Is there a reason why they’re named that way?”
