My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 881: Duke Hexryn

Chapter 881: Duke Hexryn

The receptionist counted the money and was utterly shocked to find a hundred gold coins inside the small pouch, filled to the brim.

’A-A hundred gold coins… you’ve got to be joking with me!! Is this really just a tip for the amount of food they ate?!’ The receptionist stared at Yuan with disbelief, screaming inwardly.

“Thank you very much for your generosity, dear guest. Please feel free to visit us again whenever you wish to dine in our restaurant,” the receptionist said with a wide, delighted smile on her face.

“We will, if we have time,” Yuan nodded with a smile before he left the private room with his group.

Once they stepped out of the private room, Yuan and his wives immediately noticed the massive crowd gathered in front of the restaurant, nearly blocking the entrance completely.

With their sharp hearing, they could already make out the countless whispers from a distance. From the looks of it, they had no choice but to face the crowd waiting outside.

Their unusual appearance had attracted far too much attention. No matter how much they wished to avoid unnecessary trouble, it wasn’t always something they could prevent.

Just as Yuan and his wives were about to step out of the restaurant, a grand carriage suddenly stopped in front of the entrance.

The moment the carriage appeared, the crowd outside scattered in panic as if a terrifying beast had arrived. Everyone instantly recognized the insignia on the carriage.

“R-Run! It’s Duchess Hexryn!”

“What?! Why would the Duchess suddenly come to the city without any prior notice?!”

“I-Is she here for a personal inspection?!”

Panic spread through the crowd in an instant. People fled in all directions, their faces filled with fear as if their lives were at stake.

Click! A crisp sound echoed as the carriage door swung open with force, and a female figure stepped out gracefully with a wide smile on her face.

Her presence alone sent chills down people’s spines. She wore an intimidating yet seductive military uniform, and her smile carried an invisible pressure that made others instinctively lower their heads.

An overwhelming air of superiority surrounded her, making it hard for anyone nearby to even breathe comfortably under her presence.

“Is this the place where the humans are said to be?” she asked with a faint smile, her eyes glimmering with interest.

“Yes, my Lady. This is the very restaurant our people reported. Those humans are still inside as we speak—most likely still dining,” the butler, wearing glasses, replied in a calm and dignified tone, standing beside her respectfully.

“Still eating? Their appetite must be enormous if they’ve been eating for over an hour straight. That sounds rather unbelievable,” Lady Hexryn said, slightly furrowing her brows as suspicion flashed through her eyes.

“The source said that they ordered a massive quantity of food in their private room. Our source also reported that they consumed more food than a hundred people could eat.” The butler informed her with the same calm professionalism.

“Unbelievable… I’ve never heard of a human who could eat that much food before. This is shocking, even for me.” Lady Hexryn muttered with a look of disbelief on her face.

’Could it be possible that they are not human at all? Perhaps they only disguised themselves as humans… what kind of being could possess such an exceptional ability to disguise?’ She wondered inwardly with a profound look.

“I’m going inside. You all stay here and guard this place,” she ordered her guards before stepping into the restaurant.

As soon as she entered the restaurant, she noticed Yuan and his wives standing in the lobby, staring at her with calm expressions.

She was startled by their appearance. Each woman possessed an ethereal beauty that could rival even goddesses of the High Heavens. And as for Yuan, the young man looking at her calmly was the most handsome man she had ever seen in her entire life.

’If I weren’t already married and had a husband and children… I would have taken this young man for myself without hesitation,’ she thought, her heart skipping a beat at Yuan’s overwhelming charm.

“What is your intention in seeking us?”

A calm voice suddenly echoed from the front, making her halt in her tracks and immediately look at Yuan with an uneasy expression on her face.

’What just happened?! I’m a war veteran who still serves His Highness the Demon Emperor! How could a mere voice stop me in my tracks?!’ She stared in disbelief, never having experienced anything like this before.

’This young man before me… he is not as simple as he appears. He is strong—without a doubt,’ she thought at once, instantly becoming vigilant.

“What is it? Why are you silent like this? Can’t you speak?” Lily asked with a deep frown, staring at Lady Hexryn intently.

“Well, let me introduce myself. I am Raveline Hexryn, one of the four Dukes of the Demon Empire. You may address me as Duke Hexryn—I prefer Duke over Duchess.” Lady Hexryn introduced herself with a proud smile, her confident posture perfectly concealing her inner shock.

“And what does the Duke of Hexoria want from us? I believe we have nothing to offer you,” Yuan replied calmly, raising an eyebrow as he looked at her.

“It seems you’ve misunderstood my purpose for coming here. I am merely here to invite you all to my mansion as honored guests—nothing more,” Lady Hexryn said with a soft smile, deliberately easing the tense atmosphere in the room.

“Is that so?” Yuan smiled softly before saying, “Well, we do have some spare time, so why not? We will be your guests today, Duke Hexryn.”

“Perfect. Let’s go, my carriage is right outside this restaurant,” Lady Hexryn said with a satisfied grin on her face.

Once they stepped outside, Yuan and his wives saw a very luxurious-looking carriage waiting nearby, with guards surrounding the area.

“Mmm, Duke Hexryn, I don’t think the carriage could fit all of us. How about you go ahead first and we follow you?” Vanessa spoke with a soft smile on her face.

“Follow me? Do you also happen to have a carriage?” Lady Hexryn asked as she turned around, scanning the surroundings.

However, she didn’t see any carriage parked near the restaurant. This left her puzzled as to how Yuan and his wives would follow her without one.

“We don’t have a carriage, but don’t worry about us. We will be right behind you,” Yuan said with a calm smile.

“If you say so, but later don’t complain that I didn’t give you a ride,” Lady Hexryn chuckled before boarding her carriage, and the butler promptly closed the door.

Shortly after, the carriage began to move—slow at first, then gradually picking up speed.

Lady Hexryn grew increasingly curious about how Yuan and his wives planned to follow her without any transportation.

So, she glanced through the back window of the carriage, and what she witnessed shocked her to the core, her eyes widening until they looked like they might pop out of their sockets.

“T-They are flying… H-How is this even possible?!” she exclaimed in a low, trembling voice, the shock written clearly on her face.

“They are not normal at all! They can’t be human! No human possesses such power! Even those so-called self-proclaimed gods can’t fly on their own!”

The entire time, Lady Hexryn watched Yuan and his wives following the carriage through the air like silent phantoms.

Nearly an hour later, the carriage finally came to a halt before a massive mansion—the grand Hexryn Family estate, a legacy passed down through countless generations.

As Lady Hexryn stepped out of the carriage, dozens of demon guards immediately bowed their heads and saluted with perfect military discipline.

Moments later, Yuan and his wives descended from the sky and landed beside the carriage, instantly stunning every demon present, the disbelief on their faces impossible to hide.

With a smile on her face, Lady Hexryn walked toward Yuan and said, “This is the place where I live… quite beautiful, isn’t it?”

“Indeed. It’s quite beautiful,” Yuan nodded with a smile.

“Let’s go inside and talk. I have quite a lot to ask you. But you’ve already given me more than enough surprises,” Lady Hexryn said before signaling Yuan and his wives to follow her.

Once inside, everyone settled down on the sofas, and Lady Hexryn immediately ordered the servants to prepare tea for the guests.

“Since I’ve already introduced myself, why don’t you all introduce yourselves as well?” Lady Hexryn said with a faint smirk, resting her hands on her lap. “After all, I’m quite curious about how on earth you managed to pass the barrier surrounding this continent.”

Yuan raised his eyebrows slightly upon hearing this, but he didn’t panic. The woman before him posed no real threat to him or his wives.

He also didn’t sense any malicious intent from Raveline; she simply appeared genuinely curious about them. Still, Yuan decided to stay vigilant and keep a careful watch on her.

“I’m Yuan,” he said after a brief pause, gathering his thoughts. “And since you’ve already guessed our origin, we won’t hide it from you. We indeed came from outside the Demonic Continent.”

He then proceeded to introduce everyone else to Lady Hexryn, which left her greatly shocked.

’So almost all of these women are his wives… except for three?’ She cried inwardly in astonishment. ’Just how did he manage to make so many women fall for him?!’

“I must say, you’re quite an impressive man,” Lady Hexryn chuckled softly before continuing, “Now that the introductions are over, shall we move on to the main point?”

“You see, I don’t like beating around the bush. I prefer getting straight to the matter at hand.”

“I feel the same way,” Yuan nodded calmly and replied, “Ask whatever you wish to know. As long as it’s reasonable, I’ll answer you truthfully.”

I sincerely apologize to everyone for the long delays in my Chapter updates recently. About a month ago, I was involved in a sudden and serious bike accident. I suffered fractures in both of my arms, and several of my fingers were badly injured. The Chapters you have read during this time were written with the help of my sister and my girlfriend. However, with their exams approaching, they were only able to assist me for a limited time.

Now, I have almost recovered and can type on my phone again, although very slowly. Still, I will do my best to resume regular updates from now on. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support, patience, and encouragement you have shown me throughout this difficult period.
