Chapter 2644: Soul Searching in the East I

The shadow unit explained that the other divine beast that guarded the eastern continent have been killed. The Seer of the White Tiger of the West is shocked by that revelation as the Vermillion Bird of the South and the Black Tortoise of the North are ones that are said to be unkillable. The fact that the two of them were killed in a small span of time became disturbing for the Seer of the White Tiger.

Just as they were discussing, the Seer of the White Tiger suddenly felt a fluctuation in the area and immediately deployed a barrier to protect all of them. A large rift suddenly appeared inside the cave that is already cramped. From the rift came a golden dragon arm that had an ominous aura and reached out for the soul of the Hacking Reaper of Blood Haze. The Seer of the White Tiger tried to stop the dragon’s hand, but she already exhausted much of the energy she gained from the natural pond.

The Seer of the White Tiger could not even pierce the shield that protected the dragon hand. The shadow unit members also tried to stop the dragon’s hand, but their combined attack did not pierce the barrier. In the end, the pitiful soul of the Hacking Reaper of Blood Haze got harvested by the dragon’s hand. The rift promptly closed once the soul has been captured.

“We must return immediately and report what happened to the guild leader!” Awraka stated as she immediately took out the portal scroll.

“That thing will not work here. I know of the enchanted scrolls of teleportation, but such things will not work in an area with natural qi. You would need to have immense power like earlier to make the space itself stable.” The Seer of the White Tiger stated.

“Oh! Do not worry because this is just a signal beacon for our guild leader. If a dragon that has no mastery over space could create a small rift here, then our guild leader would do something even better.” Awraka replied as she tore the location scroll.

There are instances of places having no access to communication such as this area. This place does not allow outside messages to go through due to the natural qi. To combat this, Adrian designed a Legendary Tier Locator Scroll that acts as a beacon. This is a scroll that each of guild members have and will only tear up if they are in a secret location where communication is impossible.

A few seconds after Awraka destroyed the scroll, a crack suddenly appeared above them. The Seer of the White Tiger prepared for battle just in case the dragon’s hand earlier wanted to attack them, but the shadow unit was relaxed. The rift that appeared before them was unlike the one earlier as it is clearly more stable, and it did not make the cave vibrate from the excess power. In short, this rift was perfectly controlled on the being that created it.

From the rift, insect-like hands pierced through to make it big enough for a group to pass through. The next thing that came out is a head of an insect with purple carapace and eyes that looked stars. The Seer of the White Tiger was still on guard as she believed that this might be a monster different from the one earlier. The insect head was not connected to anything as if it was coming out from another dimension itself which made it even more menacing for the Seer of the White Tiger.

“Kenos!” Awraka and the other shadow unit greeted the soulbounds as the latter made a clicking sound that sounded so serene.

“Where were you guys that it was difficult to stabilize the area? I had to combine strengths with Kenos to make sure we do not accidentally create a spatial anomaly.” Adrian’s voice stated as he appeared from the rift and saw an unfamiliar woman.

“Apologies for the sudden summoning guild leader. We needed to report to you as soon as possible because we something that should be given to you immediately.” Awraka stated in a serious tone.

“I was just joking as I would save all of you even if you were trapped in the depths of the abyss. Well, let us go then. We need to escort the Seer of the White Tiger to the grandmasters after all.” Adrian stated as he smiled towards the Seer of the White Tiger which made the latter let her guard down.

The Seer of the White Tiger could not believe the being in front of her because the pressure he applied was like when she was before her master. A mortal being that has the intensity of a divine beast is not normal and should be impossible unless they were a fallen god. She also felt the presence of the Vermillion Bird of the South from him or rather from something attached to him.

“Please pass through the portal, Lady Seer.” Awraka stated as she gestured for the Seer of the White Tiger to enter the portal before them.

“Uhh…” The Seer of the White Tiger stuttered as this was a lot to take in even for her.

“Do not worry as it is incredibly stable. We only have a 0.0001% chance of ending to a vast expanse of space that could rip you to shreds but it is safe overall.” Adrian jokingly stated to lighten the mood, but it sounded very terrifying for someone who has never used portals.

“Please do not mind the humor of our guild leader. Please follow me.” Awraka stated as she held the hand of the Seer of the White Tiger and escorted her to the other side.

The others of the shadow unit also went inside of the rift while Adrian looked at the area that looked like it was ravaged by a beast with a large claw. He could feel something unnatural in the area as well as if it was forcibly pierced. It was like an amateur forcefully created a rift and closed using tape.
