Chapter 2722: Increasing Rifts

The restoration of the territory is now underway as Avalon is still struck by some attacks. The restoration mainly focused on the areas that were affected by the battle which are the ocean area and the forest area. The two areas were severely devastated due to different reasons but the damage is greater than imagined.

The forest area is beig handled by the elves as they are the ones that can easily restore it. The Faekin that are in Avalon are also helping with the forest restoration. It should have been fairly easy but the body parts of the treants that exploded made it difficult for them to just use nature magic.

It seems that the treants exploding did something to the soil quality of the ground. The death of the treants also released their spores on any surviving tree and plants around. This meant that the trees now have a chance to transform into treants and attack anyone that comes near them. There have been some cases of attacks but the produced treants were weak and easily destroyed.

The next problem that occurred in the area is where the two Fomorians bent the forest to their will and created a portal unique to their magic. The bended trees were all dead inside despite looking green. This meant that the trees used up all of their innate life force to create the portal that transported the two divine beings.

The elves and the Faekin could not believe that there is now land that is dead. The land itself has literally died as nothing can thrive in it. This area is also large enough that it could seriously deal environmental damage to the surrounding areas. The elves actually loved the forest just outside of Avalon as it is lush and teeming with wildlife but it has been reduced to nothing.

The elves even asked the demons to reverse time in order to revert the land back to what it was but it failed. Even the combined work of the greater demons could not revert the land back to what it was. Whatever the two Fomorians did, they have done irreversible damage to the area that even reversing time is impossible.

The elves had no choice but to do manual labor with the Faekin. The dark elves did some sort of ritual to erase the traces of death on the land which actually helped a bit. The wood elves then used a ritual to create some form of life into the ground which is somewhat effective but there were still areas that looked bald. The help of the Faekin became important for this because all of them managed to revive the land by mixing the magic properties that the wood elves and dark elves applied.

For the ocean area, the ones that are taking charge for this one are the Deep Ones. They were all scavenging every piece of technology that is present or that was not sliced through by Elder Ascalor. Fortunately, there were some blueprints that were spared and it entailed the details of the airships and the seafaring ships. The ships that were created for this expedition was not cheap and it used metal that is incredibly light yet sturdy.

The Deep Ones checked for bodies of the fallen enemies but it seems that the monsters of the ocean claimed them first. If the Deep Ones are not present in the oceans near Avalon, then the monsters would swim near it as the blessings of life reach even that area. The ocean monsters that swim near also know to avoid the Deep Ones when they are present as if they know that the latter are the true rulers of the water here.

Unlike the forest where massive restoration is needed, the ocean area just needed some cleaning. All of the debris of the battle were all collected and picked up by the Deep Ones. They would sell off the materials that they have gathered as they will receive half of the value from the sale. This task is also needed for them as a way to clear the waters from obstacles as they do use this part of the ocean as a training area.

As the people of Avalon are regaining back the vibrancy of the territory, the demons are stressing out. The elders and even Adrian thought that they would be able to focus on the problem with the Asgardian gods but numerous dangerous rift activities started to appear. Parts of the central, eastern, and even western continent are showing weakened dimensional rating. This means that rifts could suddenly form in these areas and create passages to other dimensions.

The passages to the other dimensions should be harmless if it led to an area that is at peace or without any trouble. The problem is when it leads to a powerful dungeon or a world where savagery is the norm. Some rifts could even open paths to the Void itself which is incredibly dangerous as the beings there are out of the norm.

“Unfortunately, we would need to hold on in dealing with the gods at the north. If the rifts suddenly increased then there is a chance that even the world barrier might be affected. The world barrier is currently in a state where it cannot or should not tolerate anymore changes. All demons will need to focus on closing the rifts while some of us shall need to stay here to protect Avalon.” Elder Ascalor stated.

Adrian understood why the severity of the rifts needs to be cleared first. This also meant that the Daemos will be spread thin even further. The Daemos Corps will be staying in Avalon to protect it as other divine beings might attack again. Elder Koronn will need to stay in the observation room to monitor everything in real time while Elder Ascalor is part of the demons sent to the areas to fix the spatial anomalies.

“In the end, I am the only one that can go to the north. Maybe I should visit Frey to see what she is doing and also get information about the movement of the Asgardian gods.” Adrian thought.
