Chapter 2743: Exploring the Void III

The large black hole that suddenly appeared sucked in all of the Void Lukos Arachnid that dared to attach a web to Adrian’s body. The webs that they thought could capture prey has become the very thing that created their demise. The webs that they released acted like a parachute and dragged them into the black hole where their entire body is crushed.

The Void Lukos Arachnids are quite different from normal spiders as they do not detach their webs when a prey is caught. It means that their webs are still attached to their bodies and they can only cut it off when the prey is captured in a cocoon. This meant that all of the Void Lukos Arachnid around Adrian were killed in the black hole that absorbed them.

The other Void Lukos Arachnid that became wary retreated even with the Void Lukos Arachnid Queen’s orders. Adrian smiled as he easily shrunk the space of the Void and delivered the remaining Void Lukos Arachnids into the black hole that he created. Adrian did not expect that manipulating space in the Void was so easy. It felt like he crumpled paper into one ball with just one hand.

“This is something that I can get used to. The space in the main world was so delicate and hard at the same time. It was like shrinking water and ice at the same time but the space in the Void is incredibly perfect. It only took a little bit of mana as well compared to the usual thousands that I use to do it.” Adrian stated as he did not expect such a boon in the Void.

The deaths of the Void Lukos Arachnid came slow as they are basically being grinded up by the black hole that Adrian created. It seems that the clutter of Void Lukos Arachnid was weaker than he thought. The Void Lukos Arachnids died in just ten seconds of the Black Hole being active. Adrian also noticed that the mana used to increase the duration of the Black Hole is practically cut in half which means he can keep it active until all of the Void Lukos Arachnid died.

“Master, I have pinned down the Void Lukos Arachnid Queen.” Kenos stated but there was an odd tone in its voice.

Adrian then flew towards the Void Lukos Arachnid Queen that was subdued by Kenos. The Void Lukos Arachnid Queen was still alive despite its legs being torn apart. The cuts on the legs were not precise which means that Kenos might have used spatial magic to destroy them. Still, the squirming Void Lukos Arachnid Queen screeched as it desperately wanted to run but all of its usable legs are now gone.

“Good job, Kenos. Why do you seem strange?” Adrian asked as he could feel a desire from Kenos. It was hunger that he could feel from their soul link.

“Master, can I eat this one?” Kenos asked even though all of its body has been screaming to predate the being before it.

Kenos is asking Adrian because it is a very obedient boy compared to the others that might sneak in a bite or two. Kenos’ is basically Adrian’s child since he did have his blood after all and it also means that it has absolute obedience to him. Even if Adrian commanded Kenos to die for him, Kenos will obey without any questions asked as that is the hierarchy that they have.

Kenos also asked because it knows the heaviness of the request. For some reason, any monster that is devoured by a soulbound for strengthening is considered as food and not as a mob. It means that if Kenos eats the Void Lukos Arachnid Queen, Adrian will not get any experience from killing her whatsoever. The only anomalous being that could devour and still have Adrian get experience points is Dodu.

“If that is your wish then I do not have any problems. You have been quite helpful and not as demanding as your older siblings. You deserve a treat or two from time to time.” Adrian stated as he is not one to skimp on his soulbounds for the sake of experience points and loot.

“Thank you, master! I shall enjoy this meal!” Kenos stated as it fully manifested its body from the other dimension it was keeping it.

The Void Lukos Arachnid Queen that was just trembling and trying to find a way to escape suddenly became petrified by what she saw. She thought that the insect head that peered out from the small rift was the actual head of the being that captured it but she was wrong. A larger and more terrifying insect mouth filled with spiral teeth emerged from the rift and devoured her whole. The Void Lukos Arachnid Queen could not even scream as her entire body got crunched into numerous pieces.

“Tasty!” Kenos stated as its antennae danced in delight.

“Enjoy your meal in peace is what I would say but what the heck is that!” Adrian shouted as he suddenly sensed a disturbance in the space a few hundred meters away from from.

Adrian thought that a spatial anomaly will occur but it was not rifts from other dimensions that opened. A large rift is suddenly created a bit far away from him and it was from a large alien worm like creature that has a flower shaped mouth. Adrian would have ignored this monster if it was not heading to his very direction at this moment.

[A Voidwyrm has been detected in the area. Everyone, evacuate immediately.]

If Adrian was not a player, then he would never get this announcement and he already trembled when he read the announcement. Monsters that can trigger announcements are basically on the level of a catastrophe when they emerge. For example, if another beast like Sirius were to arrive then an announcement would be made because a monster like him is a catastrophe level threat.

“Master, I think that thing has smelled me. You need to seal me away right now or else you will be in danger.” Kenos stated as if something in its blood warned him about the being that suddenly barged in.

“Okay then. You should have told me that earlier but I guess even you cannot know everything in this place like me. Enjoy your meal in the soul chamber.” Adrian stated as he immediately sealed Kenos away.

When Adrian sealed Kenos away, the Voidwyrm that was heading towards him suddenly became confused as the scent it was looking for has vanished. It seems that the description of Kenos’ race being a very valuable source of strength for monsters of the Void was not an exaggeration. The fact that a catastrophe level monster would just barge in and destroy space in the Void itself to get Kenos is already a testament to that fact.

The Voidwyrm then emitted a rolling click sound as if it was imitating the call of Kenos. Adrian immediately knew that this was a hunter that is experienced because no monster would mimic the call of another race unless they have hunted dozens of them. The fact that it might even altered its body chemistry or physicality to create this sound meant it is determined and a master hunter.

“KWUAAAH!” The Voidwyrm screeched as it now emitted a different roar which might be what it really sounds like.

The Voidwyrm looked like it was angry at the thought of its food escaping away. It did not even notice Adrian at all but his current form did add to his stealthy nature. The Voidwyrm opened its large mouth like a flower where numerous tongues and teeth emerged. The Voidwyrm then released a pulse of light from it as if it was a sonar. Adrian immediately knew why the Voidwyrm did this because it cannot see.

“I cannot get detected by that thing or else I might be the next meal.” Adrian muttered as he immediately collected the webs of the Void Lukos Arachnid Queen and wrapped it around his body.

The web of the Void Lukos Arachnid Queen can ward off detection even though it has lost most of its mana. This also explains why this type of monster can hide well that Adrian needed to be close to them to detect it. Just as Adrian believed, the pulsing light emitted by the Voidwyrm reached his location.

The pulsing light acted like a scanner that passed through head to toe and the Voidwyrm then retracted this very same light back to its body. The pulsing light returned back to the Voidwyrm and it detected nothing but the webs of the Void Lukos Arachnids but there was no monster in the area. Adrian already killed all of the Void Lukos Arachnids which is why the Voidwyrm released another cry like Kenos and ultimately gave up. The Voidwyrm returned back from the rift it created and vanished without a trace which made Adrian sigh with relief.
