Chapter 1001: Taming Quest (12)
Clearly, the five monarchs with Kent didn’t expect Vey to easily accept his offer.
After all, they knew the Phoenix Queen was a prideful creature, a beast who wouldn’t casually accept becoming a subordinate of someone who isn’t a Phoenix.
It is just impossible.
However, while they saw a prideful beast, Kent saw a vulnerable and angry beast.
When Vey spoke about her mother, Kent could tell she wanted nothing more than to get her back. He could tell that, although a part of her thinks she is dead, another part thinks she is still out there.
So, learning that Kent has a Nirvana flame, she hopes and thinks that if her mom is out there, then perhaps one day she will get to come look for her.
The second reason is how angry she became hearing about the Planet King.
Sylvara told him they came to this world because of the Planet King.
According to her, they are all from different Immortal worlds; however, during an expedition to a recently discovered ruin, they sensed the presence of a forsaken elder of a long-forgotten race.
Naturally, as people who hate the forsaken race, they came together and planned to kill him.
Of course, they didn’t know each other. They came from different backgrounds and even hated each other, making them rivals.
However, on that sacred day, they came together to kill this person who, according to Sylvara, was a Root Immortal while all seven of them were merely at the Empyrean stage.
Of course, with their backgrounds and strength, killing an injured immortal would be hard but not impossible.
They came together, and so the battle began.
However, just when the battle was drawing to an end, the youngest prince of a rather powerful beast family, the Supreme Tiger Family, Prince Lowell, came, and everything changed.
The Celestial Tiger Family is a family of Tiger Beasts said to have supreme blood in their bloodlines. Although not Supreme Beasts, they have some form of supreme energy in them, so naturally, they are powerful.
With his arrival and cultivation at the Death stage, he quickly suppressed them.
He was just too powerful.
They were both outmatched and outclassed.
None could have done anything different.
They knew killing an immortal wouldn’t be easy; similarly, they knew killing someone who had comprehended the Law of Life (Life Dao) would also be a headache.
He suppressed them with both his cultivation, which is two stages above theirs, and his superior bloodline.
However, when they found out Prince Lowell was after the bloodline of the Forsaken race, they fought against their limitation to prevent him from getting the bloodline of a race that can escape the limitation of a world.
Initially, Prince Lowell wanted to give the bloodline to his father.
However, during that critical moment, the strongest among them, Ignarok, the dragon, used a bloodline ability to create a wormhole, and they all sacrificed themselves, pulling Prince Lowell in.
They thought it would kill them. However, none of them expected to end up in a High World and in a place suitable for their nature, too.
They each picked a domain that suited them and began to rule as Monarchs.
Later, they discovered that Prince Lowell had also made it, and because of the bloodline he had taken, he was confined to one of the strongest planets in this planetary system.
The bloodline absorption may have been incomplete, giving him partial benefits, which included the ability to cultivate an immortal aura, but it also limited him to Planet Seamus Prime.
He changed his name to Zorath Kaine, and since he couldn’t leave his world until he had completely absorbed the Forsaken bloodline, he decided to use his power to make the entire planetary system bow to him.
He started simple, and now, he is nearing the stage where he can go wild. If he were to take control of Plane Nictus, then he would gain the authority and power to dominate other worlds.
This means they are in danger…
Vey hates him and wants him dead.
So, hearing Kent was after the same person, she readily accepted his offer.
They knew once the Planet King is done absorbing the Forsaken bloodline, he would come for revenge, so killing him first is the right move.
“But I must tell you. When it comes to that bastard, don’t underestimate him,” Vey said with a thoughtful expression.
“He is someone who, even without the Forsaken bloodline, was able to completely suppress us. His bloodline contains supreme energy, and while we seven are divine beasts, facing someone who can be likened to a supreme beast, we are but mere bugs.
I don’t know who you are, but I am going to take a wild guess and assume you were the presence we all felt days ago.
However, you must know that, while your presence is commanding, you still pale in comparison to that bastard. Perhaps after he was suppressed to the Heavenly Ascension stage, his strength would have also been reduced.
However, it has been over fifty thousand years, and now that he has cultivated a strand of immortal aura, I believe he has become much more powerful.
I will help you hold back his subordinates, but you must do the killing. If you succeed, I, Veyara, youngest daughter of the Divine Golden Phoenix, Queen Miradia, would serve you for as long as you want me.”
’So that is who you are, huh?’ Zeraphine chuckled inwardly. ’No wonder you are very prideful. The young princess of the Golden Phoenix Clan surely deserves to be arrogant and prideful.’
The other monarchs, except Sylvara, seemed to have finally recognized who Vey was, causing them all to see her in a new light.
Kent smiled and tapped his taming bracelet, “I will kill him, that much is true. However, please note that handling his subordinates is your responsibility.
Also, I need seven more subordinates from your domain to join my campaign.”
Vey nodded and called her subordinates. One of them left to check on what happened in Sylvara’s domain; however, using a spell, she summoned her back.
After two days, Kent added Vey and her subordinates to his beast legion.
They all received one innate ability, which, based on the change in their trust level from 10% to 30%, Kent knew meant they were slowly gaining trust in him.
He sent his new subordinates to search for some of the ingredients needed for the pills.
Then, with Vey joining him and the other monarchs, they headed to the next location, which would take them roughly ten days to reach.
—
Meanwhile, far on Seamus Prime, a handsome young man with dark tattoos on his neck sat in a lotus posture, his eyes closed in what seemed to be a deep meditation.
The aura around him was extremely dense, and judging by how the tattoos were glowing and moving, it suggested he was dealing with powers beyond one’s understanding.
Suddenly, a smile appeared on his face as his red eyes slowly opened.
A wave of energy washed out of his body, spreading far and wide. All who felt this energy turned pale, many collapsing in sheer terror.
“Hahahaha…” the man laughed. “Finally, after tens of thousands of years, I have finally absorbed the Forsaken bloodline. Now I can leave this place.”
The look of anger appeared in his eyes. “The seven monarchs. Soon, your blood will become my sustenance as I rise to ascension and dominance, thanks to your foolishness.
Had it not been for you, I wouldn’t be in this filthy place surrounded by a bunch of low-lives.”
He stood up and walked toward the window.
Looking at the majestic city spreading thousands of miles, a sigh escaped his lips, and he said, “In a couple of months, after getting used to my powers, I will come for your heads…monarchs.”
