Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 509: Golden Void Outlaws (4)

Chapter 509: Golden Void Outlaws (4)

“Sit.”

The Grim Noble gestured as Almond and Lily arrived.

After sitting down, Almond promptly said. “We would like to join the Rebel Faction.”

“That’s good for us.” The Grim Noble smiled. “I can feel your group is rather powerful. No wonder you managed to slay many Grim Adventurers and halt those nasty operations in those places.”

As he finished speaking, Almond and Lily got the notification that they had successfully joined the Orange Parrot faction in the event.

“Now you are a member. I have also made you both agent-rank figures in this faction, so you can add your people in this faction as well.”

“Now, without further ado,” the Grim Noble waved his hand as a hologram appeared, showing the map of the ocean. “I’m going to give you your first mission. This island has a mystic power, and it has a barrier that only allows Grim Students or lower to pass through it.”

“It’s three hundred kilometers from here, so you will encounter some troubles on the way, but I am sure you will reach there safely.”

Lily smiled, her eyes sharp. “And win that mystic power.”

“It belongs to us, I suppose?” Almond blinked.

“Of course. It’s in the Rebel Faction’s best interest that you get strong. We need to win this event or we’ll face total eradication by those two factions.” The Grim Noble’s expression was somber. “All the best in your endeavors.”

“Before we go, are there any better ways to use pirate points that we gather?” Lily asked. “So far, the system shops we saw on this island only offer one-time use items.”

“There are some limited shops that have useful resources that can make you stronger. But they are only found in mystic islands where the mystic powers reside.”

“I see. Thanks for the information.” Almond nodded.

A faint orange insignia now burned faintly on their character sheets, marking them as agents within the rebellion’s ranks, members of the Orange Parrot faction of this event.

The Eltuvaine awaited them at the docks, its hull swaying slightly against the tide as if eager to depart.

Regalons boarded quickly, and with a single command from Almond, the ship surged back into the open ocean.

The others became part of the faction through Almond and Lily.

“Don’t we want to buy something with the Pirate Points?” Kira curiously asked.

“We’ll save them and buy from other shops.”

“Anyway, take a look at the map. I’ve marked the destination.”

Three hundred kilometers east, straight into waters teeming with roaming predators and other pirate crews.

The sea roared that night. Clouds tore across the sky in great storm belts, stars flickering like distant watchfires as the vessel glided forward. Each wave rose like a mountain, but the Eltuvaine’s Storm Cruise Drifting skill allowed it to cut between the crests with predatory smoothness.

Monsters came, of course—massive fish that rose with jaws gaping, skyborne stingrays whose tails crackled with thunder, octopuses and leviathans—but Regalons swatted them aside with minimal effort. Pirate Points trickled higher, glowing softly in their status panes.

However, they did encounter a monster that forced them to escape instead of killing it. It was a Tier-4 monster, equivalent to a Grim Noble.

Fortunately, the ship’s skill and collective move from Almond, Lily, and Admiral Rudra’s use of Voiderran allowed them to escape.

As they neared their destination, it was Lily who first caught sight of the island at dawn.

“We’ve arrived.”

A jagged mass of obsidian rose from the waters like the shattered tooth of some colossal beast. Strange mists curled from its cliffs, and a dome-like barrier shimmered faintly around its perimeter, reflecting the light of the morning sun in rainbow patterns.

“Barrier’s real.” Natalia leaned forward against the railing. “But it’ll let us through.”

Eltuvaine slid into the mist, hull brushing against the resistance of the barrier before slipping through as though welcomed.

And then the voice came.

[ Within a 5-kilometer radius of the island, attacking other ships is not allowed. ]

Inside, the seas calmed unnaturally, silence gripping the air, and they saw multiple ships docked at the island.

[Mystic Island: Gripping Obsidian Tales.]

The temple stood deep inland, a sprawling structure of white stone covered in moss and vines. Strange glyphs glowed faintly along its walls, the air charged with the promise of ancient power.

But they weren’t alone.

By the time Regalons disembarked and began moving inland, three other groups had already arrived, and several were already inside.

One was a band of eighteen armored fighters from the Royal Family’s faction.

Another crew of rogue mages, as all of them had staff weapons that crackled with unstable energy. They seemed to be from the Cross Light faction.

The last, a sleek pirate party of twelve, armed with hooked blades and chains, their leader smirking with cruel delight. These were also from the Royal Family’s faction.

But there was no unity of faction groups in this. The groups were here to acquire the mystic power by entering that massive structure by eliminating others in their way.

There was utter tension in the air as all the new groups moving towards the center of the island had sensed each other.

“We should eliminate them now,” Viktor suggested.

“I agree.” Arjun nodded.

“The other groups are not exactly calm.” Almond narrowed his eyes. “Wait a bit. One of them will make a move.”

“But it’s imperative that we eliminate them.” Almond smiled, his eyes glinting. “We are not Grim Residents, but Grim Outlaws. Grim Residents can get experience simply by living daily and going through their lives, but we will need to take actions as Grim Outlaws to increase our experience.”

This also meant that they would gain experience faster when doing those activities, unlike Grim Residents, who receive stabilized experience every day.

“They started,” Lily replied, chakrams spinning into existence with a faint hum. “It seems that the group of twelve is attacking the Cross Light faction’s group, and the other group is also making a move.”

Indeed. The Royal family’s group of twelve people, who had four Grim Students and eight Grim Residents, attacked the mages of the Cross Light faction.

Moreover, the other group of eighteen people belonging to the Royal family’s faction was also moving to flank them.

“It seems they want to eliminate them fast, and then come for us.” Admiral Rudra narrowed his eyes.

“Then we’ll wait for them,” Silvester said with a grin.

The island had large trees and plant life with giant hills.

The two Royal faction groups were fighting a couple of kilometers to their side, and a few of them were observing Regalons as they slowly flew towards the giant temple, which was still over twenty kilometers away.

With the combined might of those two groups, those poor eight mages had no chance of survival. Even though they had five Grim Students, they died quickly.

Now, killing people like this wouldn’t kill them in a true sense, as one of the rules of this event was that only people who drowned for a minute would die a true death. Otherwise, they would be transported to a random island.

Fortunately, members of the same group who died were transported to the same island.

Soon, those two groups of the royal faction made a move on the seventeen Regalons.

A barrier formed, stretching one kilometer in radius and trapping the Regalons.

“It looks like that one-time use item we saw in the shop.” Admiral Rudra blinked. “So they think they’ve trapped us.”

People appeared shortly and grouped up before them, standing tens of meters across from them.

“Your journey ends here, rebel rats.”
