Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 535: Julian vs Berreta

Chapter 535: Julian vs Berreta

“Impressive.” Vier nodded. “Grim Power is really handy, right? But be careful, most people die in their Grim Trials.”

“We have decided to initiate at least one Grim Trial in each rank.” Almond smiled. “Difficult it may be, but if we pass, we gain a higher potential count in the next breakthrough.”

Vier glanced at him. “Why take unneeded risk? Grim Trials become harder as you complete them. Initiating once at each rank poses a risk of true death at 90% when you reach the Noble-tier. The smart thing to do is to first reach Emperor-tier and then initiate Grim Trials to become strong and gain qualification and potential of becoming a Grimlord. This is how most became Grimlords.”

Lily, Almond, and Admiral Rudra looked at each other before shaking their heads while wryly smiling.

“Well, suit yourselves then,” Vier shrugged.

Below, Arjun left the battleground after winning and sat down, his whole being aching everywhere.

Meanwhile, Burfora was healed by the busty dark elf.

“That bastard used Grim Power to create a concept to break my defense,” Burfora muttered.

“It’s a marathon, not a race,” Ceilina calmly said. “He created quite a powerful arsenal for himself, but he is on the verge of entering a Grim Trial.”

“Tsk.”

On the other hand, the Regalons began rolling the dice to decide the one who would fight the next opponent.

And the next opponent was a black-haired girl wearing a dark blue and black millitery-esque outfit, wielding a katana and a pistol.

The one to win the dice roll was Julian, so he went up, taking his Grim Weapon—Heavilist Rumble Sword.

“That weapon looks uncomfortable.” Berreta, the black-haired girl, spoke upon seeing the giant sword resting on Julian’s shoulder.

Julian grinned. “It’s the most comfortable for me.”

Across the arena, Berreta lowered her stance, katana angled, pistol loosely gripped by the trigger guard. Her dark uniform fluttered under the mounting pressure.

A single breeze passed between them.

Julian vanished first.

BOOM!

The entire battleground lurched as Julian reappeared in front of her, swinging the massive sword in a wide, crushing arc. The trajectory looked simple—straightforward even—but the instant Berreta slid aside, Julian’s arms twisted, his waist turned, and the arc folded into another strike seamlessly.

Then another.

Then another.

By the fourth swing, power was already doubling—each blow feeding the next like a chain reaction.

Berreta’s eyes narrowed.

’Interesting sword style. His body is also turning semi-physical.’

Julian stepped in, boots exploding through the planks.

“Don’t dodge too much!” he yelled, laughter ringing. “Momentum’s building!”

The fifth swing came from behind him, reversing direction mid-path, the air trembling violently.

CLANG!

Berreta barely got her katana up in time. The hit flung her several meters back. But Julian had already moved, blade raised behind him—

—and the sixth swing came before she landed.

Wood shattered. A shockwave erupted. Berreta twisted, her figure blurring, but Julian didn’t pause for even a heartbeat. His feet skidded, grip shifting instantly, and the seventh attack barreled down like a meteor.

“That’s a rather powerful assortment of assets with his sword style.” Vier raised his eyebrows. “He is building power crazily.”

“Yes. He is known as Infinite Swordsman in our ranks,” Admiral Rudra said with a chuckle.

“His combat style is not built around overwhelming force,” Almond said. “It’s built around an endlessly increasing force. If he continues, his body comes apart eventually. But he’ll win before that.”

“He will lose.” Vier smiled. “Just watch.”

Once started, Julian’s swings never stopped. Every arc naturally evolved into the next, each one faster, heavier, sharper—like an avalanche gaining mass as it tumbled downhill.

Berreta’s arm went numb from the repeated clashes.

Julian grinned wildly.

Eighth!

The blade came down. She dodged by a hair.

Ninth!

A diagonal sweep tore open the battlefield.

Tenth!

Berreta’s expression tightened. She holstered her pistol, focusing both hands on her katana. Julian’s chained attacks were no longer swings—they were a collapsing star trying to swallow the arena whole.

ELEVENTH!

Julian stomped, sending shockwaves rippling before the blade crashed down with accumulated momentum thick enough to warp the air into visible distortion.

Berreta’s boots split the wooden floor as she held her block.

Her shoulders trembled.

Her breath hitched.

’His next strike… I won’t be able to block it.’ Berreta’s eyes whirled with a spiraling crimson star. ’This is it.’

The Heavilist Rumble Sword lifted again—this time feeling less like metal and more like a collapsing mountain, ready to crush everything under accumulated, runaway momentum.

Admiral Rudra clicked his tongue. “Here it comes. It’s over.”

“No,” Vier said, leaning forward faintly. “Here she comes.”

As Julian swung—

Berreta exhaled.

A single, calm breath.

Her stance loosened, arms unclenching, body relaxing as if she were letting go of every ounce of resistance.

And the force slammed into her.

But it didn’t break her.

It flowed into her.

Every shred of kinetic weight pressing into her arms vanished—not dispersed, not blocked, but drawn inward, like a gaping void had opened inside her bones.

Admiral Rudra raised his eyebrows.

“That power…!” Almon blinked.

Lily muttered. “Interesting.”

Vier chuckled. “Unfettered Conversion. It’s her True Concept. Every blow she endured was stored.”

The arena trembled as Julian’s twelfth swing met nothing but a soft hand redirecting its path. The momentum—monstrous and avalanche-like—bled out of the sword’s arc until it nearly stopped mid-air, Julian’s face twisting in confusion.

“What?!”

His voice choked as he felt the backlash of force siphoning away from him.

Berreta’s fingers tightened around her katana’s hilt.

“Your strength is impressive,” she whispered.

Her body flickered.

And disappeared.

No sound accompanied her movement. No wind. No shockwave. One moment she was under his sword, the next she was behind him.

Julian’s mind barely processed the shift.

’So fast…why is she…’

Then the force hit him.

All of it.

Every accumulated swing.

Every pound of compounded momentum.

Every piece of runaway destruction he had built up.

Returned at once.

Converted into pure acceleration.

Berreta’s katana flashed.

BOOOOOOOOM—!

A pillar of compressed air detonated as her blade tore through Julian’s side—not slicing flesh but rupturing force into his body, sending him spiraling through the air like a comet shot out of a cannon.

Julian crashed into the far side of the arena, leaving a trench of splintered wood and shattered supports, skidding until he slammed into the stadium barrier hard enough to make the entire platform groan.

His breath fled instantly.

His arms twitched.

The Rumble Sword fell from his grasp as Berreta’s offensive energy filled every fiber of his body, reducing his Life Power rapidly.

Berreta stood still, katana lowered, body lightly steaming from the absurd kinetic conversion she had just used. Her uniform flapped in the settling shockwave.

Julian tried, just once, to stand.

’Fuck, no!’

His fingers dug into the ground.

His arm shook.

Then collapsed, powerless.

Berreta sheathed her katana with a soft click.

“Thank you,” she said quietly, not looking back. “I couldn’t have done that without your momentum.”

Julian’s eyes rolled upward as he fainted, eyelids closed.

“Someone go get him,” Natalia said while she looked at others. “That girl is the toughest one so far. Julian, we know of loss.”

“She endured a lot of his strikes using some of her strange skills, storing his own power, and then converting it into speed and power. That last strike was utterly fast, unblockable.”

“If she can absorb and convert any kind of force, it doesn’t matter if we hit her with energy-based projectiles or close-range hits.”

“So who is confident of beating her? Let’s roll the dice.”

“Humph, I shall see if she survives my overwhelming cursed might.” Kexell snorted.

Big D rolled his eyes.
