Chapter 536: Kexell vs Berreta
Chapter 536: Kexell vs Berreta
The next one to fight against Berreta was none other than Kexell, as he rolled the highest number.
Going up on the battering, Kexell cracked his neck and arms.
“You can rest if you want to. I don’t want to fight if you are not at your full power.” Kexell said with a grin.
“I am at my full power.” Berreta pointed her gun at Kexell. “You can start.”
Kexell’s heart pounded. He could feel pressure from her.
He grinned.
“Well then, you can go ahead and beat me.”
Berreta pulled the trigger. A bullet burst out, spreading cracks to the space around it before suspending there.
A tiny hole in the space right behind it was trying to suck the bullet, but the bullet was spinning and staying stationary.
Streams of energy warped around the spinning bullet as the space began to mend.
’She used space to do that and boosted the bullet.’ Kexell’s eyes glinted. ’It’s powerful.’
“It’s over, Berreta muttered.
Snap!
The bullet blasted forward, entering Kexell’s domain, tearing through all resistance, and hitting him in the chest.
BOOM!
A blast occurred at the moment of impact, sending Kexell like a rocket as he puked blood, and cracks spread throughout his body.
“Powerful!”
Dark aura began to ooze out of Kexell as he stopped him. Bleeding from his face and chest, he grinned.
And soon, the wounds began healing rapidly.
A pair of ethereal draconic wings came into existence behind him and enveloped him in a sleek metallic armor before his hands were wrapped into large draconic claws—his Grim Weapon.
Kexell appeared above her, his claws dripping with crimson-black aura-liquid.
Slash!
A swipe of the claw and a terrifying projectile burst down onto Berreta, oozing with curse and poison.
Berreta’s hand blurred as she swung her katana, but suddenly, her body shook and blood oozed out of her eyes, nose, and mouth.
’Shit!’
Her attack against the incoming claw projectile was disrupted, forcing her to dodge quickly.
“Oopsie.”
Kexell’s voice rang from behind her, his claws ready to pierce her in the next moment.
But Berreta used a skill, causing whips of blue tentacles to flow out of her back and bind Kexell’s entire body.
She turned around and swung her Katana again.
Kexell laughed and took the slash head-on as he made a gnash to his neck, almost beheading him.
But instead of the expected blood from his cut-off neck, darkness poured like a torrent, washing Berreta completely.
Kexell was healed again while Kexell’s wound transferred to Berreta, her neck getting split.
Berreta quickly closed her wounds and retreated while shooting bullets. ’Fortunately, I can close my wounds since his energy doesn’t invade my body.’
’But these wounds will wear me down.’ Berreta frowned. ’He is regenerating crazily, but there should be a limit.’
“Interesting.” Vier nodded. “He can transfer the wounds directly to disrupt and disable opponents instantly.”
“He is very annoying to deal with,” Almond chuckled.
“I lost a very good friend at his hands,” Admiral Rudra said, his eyes melancholic.
“He killed your friend, and yet he is your family member?” Vier raised his eyebrows.
“Kexell was led into a conflict against us by some nasty fellows, who wanted to use him to whittle us down. And he grew up being hated and hunted by his entire race, filling him with hate and pain, but his will to live despite that shaped his power,” Almond said. “Now, he is one of the top powerhouses of Regalons.”
“I like this family name called Regalon.” Vier grinned. “But your Kexell will lose.”
BOOM!
Kexell’s claws clashed against Berreta, their domains creating a g-clashing phenomenon around them.
One filled with blue and black lightning on Berreta’s side and one filled with purple and black on Kexell’s side.
As clashing intensified, Berreta’s body was getting more and more injured.
On the other hand, Kexell was perfectly fine and intensifying his attacks, lacing them with more poison and debuffs.
“Kexell will win.” Natalia grinned.
“Well, it’s impossible to kill him.” Marcus wryly smiled.
“Something is amiss,” Liang muttered.
Arjun nodded. “She is not done yet.”
“She is breaking apart, but it feels off.” Kira blinked, her eyes unfolding lotus pupils.
Berreta’s body was cracking all over.
Suddenly, Kexell’s claw twisted as he found an opening, tearing off both of her arms at once before his other hand’s claw swiped with bursting neon violet force, splitting her into three horizontally as her head, torso, and legs flew apart in different directions.
But before anyone could register information on Berreta’s post-death state and celebrate, a flash occurred.
Silent, but blinding blue flash with smoke in which Berreta’s shadow flashed. A katana in one hand and a pistol in the other.
She leaped towards Kexell with glistering black-blue lightning sparks bursting around her, as a pair of black and neon-blue patterned mechanical wings and a visor were added to her already fancy appearance.
“It’s over.” Vier smiled.
Kexell’s claws met her Katana that was coming for his head.
A brief clash occurred where both paused. Space cracked, and in the next moment, Kexell’s claw shattered.
Berreta’s pistol was at his temple as she was flashing past.
But barely in time, Kexell’s monstrous tail slammed her away, into the ground twenty meters away.
“So you became more powerful.”
Kexell’s arm fell.
Even in that brief window where his tail struck her, she managed to swing her Katana and cut his right arm.
Kexell began regenerating.
Berreta appeared before Kexell, floating ten meters away as the sparking blue-black smoke of her Jet whirled around her like an aura coat.
“It won’t work anymore.” Her calm voice echoed.
Kexell’s froze. He looked at his arm.
It wasn’t regenerating.
Berreta was completely fine.
Everyone was shocked.
“What?” Noah’s eyes widened. “She stopped his curse nexus?”
“Now that is something concerning.” Zauna wryly smiled. “None of us has ever managed to block or pause Kexell’s curse nexus. It is his ultimate skill that is constantly active.”
“She stopped it.” Big D’s eyes narrowed. “Completely.”
The most shocked was, of course, Kexell himself.
His power built revoluted around the curse nexus. It was constantly active. Any negative effect, debuff, curse, physical wound, and everything he got could be bounced back to those who gave it to him.
He could trace them, curse them, and the more he engages in battle and fills them with his curse, the more his regeneration increases.
Eventually, once his curse gauge on the target is filled, he could kill them instantly. A complete death through a curse.
And now, his curse nexus was…gone.
“What did you do?” Kexell asked.
“Ban.” Berreta’s gun pointed at Kexell. “I can place a ban on my opponent after dying at their hands and revive with my super version.”
“Super version?” Lily blinked.
“Her powers are interesting.” Almond smiled.
Vier laughed. “Told you. Your Kexell will lose.”
“If she has such a power, she must surely need to fulfil a certain condition to achieve it.” Admiral Rudra said with a thoughtful expression.
“Yep.” Vier nodded.
“But she fought twice, and she could have fulfilled it anytime.” Lily wryly smiled.
Admiral Rudra nodded.
“You surrender, or do you want to continue?” Berreta asked as her fancy gun flickered with neon patterns.
Kexell grinned. “Like hell I would surrender.”
“I still have a lot in my arsenal of offense.”
Kexell leaked thick black metallic liquid as he acquired four arms and three tails on a lean and defined humanoid body.
Soon, the battlering was filled with explosions and destruction as space shattered constantly and mended.
But this time, Kexell was on the receiving end.
Kexell gave his all.
He could spend Grim Power, but he was not the type to use Grim Power during battle because he could mess up and waste it.
So he had decided to use it after the battle.
’Tsk, I have to cook something. I lost to number three, damn it!’ were Kexell’s last thoughts before he lost his consciousness.
Berreta wins again.
