Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 683: Purist’s Lair

Chapter 683: Purist’s Lair

Thanks to Guillermo’s skill and familiarity with the ways of the Purists Vampires, they were able to locate their lair without any problem.

If it weren’t for him being in the Nation of Reborn the moment that the Purists ambushed the other Vampires, then he probably would have been knocked unconscious the same as they had, and no one would have even known that the Purists were even here in Metropolis, plotting something nefarious.

By the time the officials from Metropolis found out about it, it would have already been too late.

Guillermo carefully put his hand on the wall.

Then, blood seeped out of his skin and smeared on the stone brick walls.

Suddenly, his blood continued to roll through invisible grooves in the wall, creating a circular pattern with strange hieroglyphic symbols made out of blood.

“They’ve put up a blood power in the 5th Dao stage to achieve this kind of stealth,” Guillermo muttered.

“5th level Dao?” Michael asked.

“Just like you humans, us beastfolks have our own cultivation levels. We may have different powers, with the mermen commanding water, and us Vampires commanding blood, but the stages in our cultivation levels are similar in power and can be compared directly.

It can even be compared to human Maugnetics, meaning that this blood spell right here was made by someone at the same level as a 5th stage Body Formation Maugnetic.”

Theoretically, anyone below the 5th stage of both Body Formation and Dao would not be able to enter the Purist Vampire’s blood spell without alerting its creator.

“I’m just barely at the 5th stage of Dao. I can hide myself as we enter their lair, but I won’t be able to extend my power to you,” Guillermo wanted Michael. “What stage are you?”

“I’m in the 4th stage,” he replied. “But don’t worry. I can enter the lair without problem.”

Enough time had now elapsed for the Drone’s upgrade to finally finish. He took out the Drone from his pocket and saw that, externally, not much had changed from its design.

The only thing that was different were the propellers, which once had an open design that showed the propellers to the outside. But now, there was just a circular vent around the propeller case, with the propellers hidden inside it.

He piloted it to fly, with its buzzing having become noticeably quieter. Even Guillermo noticed the difference, and could now only hear a slight buzz in the air even though he was only a few meters away from Michael.

“Such a change! How is that possible?!”

Michael didn’t answer and separated the Main Drone from the Mini Drone.

A much smaller and sleeker version of the drone flew besides Michael, now having a protruding barrel on its bottom. He commanded it to change its aim, and the barrel changed its direction as he wanted it to.

Next, he tested its new ability to shrink in size.

With just a thought, the Main Drone suddenly vibrated as its molecular structure shifted and lessened the space in between its atoms.

It decreased in size and could now fit squarely in his hands.

And now, Guillermo could no longer hear the sound of the propellers buzzing from the drone. If he didn’t know that the Drone was even there, then he wouldn’t have even noticed the near-mute buzzing from the propellers!

Not only that, but once the Drone activated its invisibility, it very presence in reality seemed to have disappeared with it!

Guillermo was thoroughly impressed! This weapon would definitely be able to infiltrate the Purist’s lair without them even knowing about it.

This was very high praise coming from a Vampire.

“Can you use the same powers as your flying weapons?” Guillermo asked expectantly. If he could, then he could join the infiltration inside!

But Michael shook his head. “No, that’s not where my Aubilities lie. But I do have a way to solve that.”

He grabbed the Main Drone in the air and touched the miniature doors on its frame, and suddenly, his entire body got sucked into a Pocket Dimension inside the Drone.

Once he opened his eyes, he saw himself back in the Control Room subspace, piloting the Drone from the inside.

This was his solution! He might not have an Aubility dedicated to stealth, but he could simply jump into his Drone and take advantage of its new stealth abilities instead!

“Michael?!” Guillermo asked, looking around trying to find where he disappeared off to.

The Drone then materialized in front of him. “I’m here,” Michael said to him, with Michael’s voice being transmitted directly from the control room. “Is this good enough to get inside the lair?”

Guillermo nodded. “I don’t know how you did that, but with this, we’ll have no problem bypassing the security system they put in place. Let’s go.”

He touched the blood circle inscribed in the wall, using his own blood power to temporarily override its systems and give them an entry point inside.

Michael saw the blood in the walls start to recede back into the very stone itself. Not only that, but the Aubility Power imbued in it started to lose its glow as well.

Finally, both of them walked inside the walls, with their bodies easily sinking into the wall as if it wasn’t even there in the first place.

And once they were inside, they saw nothing but blackness around them.

“Don’t wander around on your own,” Guillermo warned with a quiet whisper. “They have traps set in place everywhere. Once those are triggered, they’ll know we’re here and they’ll bolt faster than lightning to escape.”

Guillermo purposefully bit his thumb and let a drop of his own blood spill on the floor. Then, the blood flowed forwards, allowing Guillermo to see the right pathway ahead.

Still, Guillermo was careful with every step he took. He avoided pitfalls, trapped walls and doors, and even tripwires as they navigated through the darkness.

Just then, Michael spoke up. “I’ll take the lead,” he said.

“How will you know where to find the blood spells left behind by the Purists?”

The answer to that question was his newly purchased camera option for his Drone, the [Beastfolk Vision].

Using this new filter on his camera, he was able to see the blood power in the darkness as if it glowed in the dark. He saw which step was trapped and led to a dead end, and he saw which way led to the glowing group of Vampires in the distance with crystal clear clarity.

He piloted the Drone, getting ahead of Guillermo.

“Wait, that’s—”

And before Guillermo could finish his words, Michael skilfully avoided a swinging ball of blood from the ceiling.

Then, Michael continued to fly through the Purist’s obstacles as if they were nothing. If Guillermo didn’t know any better, then he would have thought Michael knew about this place beforehand.

“How are you doing this?!” Guillermo asked incredulously. He was so surprised that his voice almost triggered one of the blood traps on the wall!

“My weapon has unique powers,” Michael explained. “Come on, let’s go. I can see the Purists.”

After hearing their name, Guillermo was reminded of the severity of the situation and stopped asking any more questions. He followed Michael through the darkness before they found themselves just on the other side of a wall, with the Purist Vampires almost in front of them.
