Chapter 1006 - 1006: Giants Hit Hard
Leor cursed at Evan, who only grinned back as he effortlessly destroyed the arrows flying toward him from behind with an energy burst.
“Don’t worry, Leor. I’m saving you for last. You’re the one who got me off Earth I, after all.”
As Evan spoke, his flames retracted up to his shoulder, and seeing that, Leor instantly realized what was about to happen.
He activated his Authority of Momentum just as the flames surged back down into Evan’s hand, blasting him backwards with a burst of fire.
But the shockwave barely carried him far before he forcibly halted his own momentum, stopping his movement instantly. Planting his feet back on the ground, he redirected all that energy into his spear and launched it straight for Evan’s head.
Evan, mildly surprised, parried the spear and commented.
“That was good.”
His left palm shot toward Leor’s chest, but Leor reacted just as fast, intercepting the attack with his right hand and deflecting the stream of flames that would have engulfed him.
Instead of dispersing uselessly into the air, the flames curved mid-flight, forming a cascading curtain behind Evan. At the same time, the ground beneath him split open, and another surge of fire erupted upward, colliding with the descending flames.
The resulting wall of fire swallowed the thousand arrows Miresi had fired, preventing them from piercing Evan from behind.
Meanwhile, Evan continued clashing with Leor, but he suddenly felt his movements slowing. Clicking his tongue, he muttered.
“Yeah, I’m killing Sylvara next.”
Leor’s eyes widened at the muttered declaration, but before he could react, Evan’s body erupted with orange flames.
‘godslayer Torch.’
Evan’s height shot up to 2.5 meters, his strength surging as he overpowered Leor, knocking him down on his back. Then, before Leor could get up, Evan leapt into the air and shot off like a blazing comet.
Leor screamed Sylvara’s name, expecting Evan to attack her—but instead, Evan’s trajectory veered toward Malrik.
Leor’s face darkened as he realized he’d been deceived again. But what he didn’t know was that Evan had no intention of tricking him.
He really did plan to kill Sylvara next.
But Malrik took priority—after all, the sheer amount of Death Law energy radiating from him was far too dangerous to ignore.
Just as Evan closed in and swung his sword at Malrik, the space beside him fractured violently. A massive fist burst forth from the crack, slamming into Evan’s side and sending him hurtling through the air.
His body crashed down with meteoric force, rag-dolling uncontrollably for dozens of kilometres.
Miresi seized the moment, leaping into the air and pulling back her bow. Ten arrows were nocked—but when she released them, it wasn’t ten that shot toward Evan.
Each arrow split into a hundred, turning into a storm of a thousand projectiles raining down on him.
Still reeling from being abruptly knocked out of the sky, Evan retaliated with his Indigo flames, conjuring his own arrows and sending them soaring to intercept Miresi’s barrage.
Explosions rocked the air as the projectiles clashed mid-flight, but before the sounds even reached his ears, Miresi was already beside him, her bow drawn.
Eclipse Shot.
A giant arrow of shadow lightning shot toward Evan, and he swung the Vanquisher to deflect it, the impact reverberating through his bones.
The arrow detonated in a storm of black lightning, and mid-explosion, Miresi flashed behind him and fired five arrows.
The five arrows instantly became five hundred, but before they could even travel a meter, she was already above him, releasing another five hundred in five arrows.
By the time the first wave of arrows crossed two meters, she was back in front of him, launching another five hundred in five arrows.
Thunderbolt Rain!
Burn, Mesarthim!
god and godslayer unleashed their abilities simultaneously. The resulting explosion devoured everything in the vicinity, shaking the planet so violently it shifted off its axis once more.
Leor raised a shield of light before him, blocking the debris and flames, and readied his spear to throw—only for a streak of light to shoot out from the inferno, soaring toward the sky.
Evan rocketed upward nearly 20 kilometres in an instant. But as he looked below, he saw the massive form of the Greater Undead Malrik had summoned.
“Of all things, you had to summon a big bastard.”
Correction—Evan didn’t look down.
Despite being over 20 kilometres in the air, he was staring straight ahead, face-to-face with the towering existence.
An Undead Giant King.
The Giant King clenched his massive fist and swung at Evan—who had no intention of getting punched halfway across the planet’s northern hemisphere again.
Without hesitation, the godslayer activated his Ultimate Skill to break Sylvara’s binding attempt, then ignited his flames like jet boosters, rocketing skyward to evade the strike.
Evan kept ascending till he broke through the atmosphere, and at the sight, Malrik bellowed orders.
Go after him!
Despite being undead, the Giant King’s soul was strong enough to retain full self-awareness. He shot a glare at Malrik—but, bound by his Authority, he had no choice but to pursue Evan.
As a High-Tier Deity, the Giant King could fly using his Universal Law Energy. Using this, he chased after Evan, who had already escaped Kyrexis Prime’s gravitational pull, with Leor in hot pursuit.
Evan spun around mid-flight, thrusting his sword forward and unleashing a spiralling Vortex at his pursuers.
Leor countered instantly, firing a beam of light that collided with Evan’s attack, detonating in an explosion that tore through space.
Meanwhile, the Giant King enlarged his already massive body, reached out, and gripped one of Kyrexis Prime’s moons like a boulder.
Then he yeeted the entire planetary body at Evan.
Not stopping there, he grabbed two more moons and hurled them as well—completely ignoring whatever battles were happening on them.
Miresi, using her Alacrity Authority, accelerated the planetary projectiles, making them streak through space like meteors.
When Evan turned to see the incoming planetary bodies, he sighed.
‘This is why fighting giants is annoying. They always throw stuff.’
He swung his sword and unleashed a wide slash of flames, slicing through all three moons in a fiery detonation.
The attack destroyed the projectiles, but it also slowed him down just enough that the Giant King, buffed by Miresi’s Alacrity Authority caught up to him.
A fist, larger than a city, barrelled toward him and he instantly conjured dozens of shields with Ember Genesis.
It only took a second for the giant fist to obliterate the shields, but that slowed its momentum just enough for Evan to dash out of range.
As he flew away, arrows rained down on him from every direction, and while dodging, he glanced over his shoulder to see Miresi and Sylvara perched on the Giant’s shoulders.
What’s more, Sylvara’s hand was outstretched toward him.
‘That’s not good.’
The goddess’ magic power surged as she wove together a convergence of elemental laws—light, ice, wind, water, lightning, and earth—melding them into a swirling, unstable mass before launching it at Evan.
He shot to the side, dodging, but the moment he did, Miresi’s arrows homed in on him, streaking like meteors through the void. At the same time, Leor’s giant light spears descended from above, forcing Evan to make quick yet careful evasive manoeuvres.
As he twisted through the barrage, Sylvara conjured another convergence of elements, this time forming a multi-layered cage around him, interweaving every element but fire to seal him in.
Evan flared his flames, intending to destroy the construct, but before he could, Sylvara detonated the entire cage.
The explosion consumed everything in its radius, and mid-explosion, the Giant King’s colossal fist punched through the blast and slammed into him, launching him at light speed.
Evan’s body hurtled uncontrollably through space, his surroundings warping as he crashed into another of the Kyrexis system’s Superplanets. The impact flattened everything in a massive radius, wiping out every combatant in the vicinity.
His momentum didn’t stop there—he burst through the planet, ripping through its core and exploding out the other side. The planet crumbled apart in the aftermath, detonating with an enormous shockwave.
Even then, Evan’s body kept going, only finally stopping when he slammed into a moon orbiting the now-destroyed planet.
Naturally, Evan took a fuck ton of damage from that, but instead of consuming his magic power to use Mesarthim’s GREEN, he let his Sub-Cosmic body regenerate through cosmic energy.
Activating his Prismatic Inferno Authority, Evan channelled both cosmic energy and magic power into his sword.
As flames began to swirl violently around it, Evan thrust the blade forward.
Prismatic Vortex!
A massive vortex of multi-coloured flames erupted from his sword, spiralling through space, tearing through the remnants of the exploding planet, and hurtling toward the Giant King, who had just begun to circle around it.
Miresi and Sylvara leapt away immediately, but the Giant King wasn’t fast enough to escape in time and was engulfed by the storm of flames. The vortex shredded through his flesh, burning deep into his undead body.
Sylvara immediately turned her gaze towards Evan’s last location, preparing an attack, but her eyes widened at what she saw.
‘What the-?!’
The Vortex of flames currently shredding the Giant King’s body weren’t coming directly from Evan.
His sword was drawing in ambient cosmic energy on its own, releasing the flames he had previously stored within it.
The real Evan was nowhere in sight.
Her eyes darted around warily, searching for him, when his voice echoed around her.
Five godslayer Dragons.
Five massive flaming serpentine dragons roared to life behind her, and just as Sylvara turned and activated her Authorities—
Behind?!
—Evan’s voice came from the opposite direction.
“I’m right in front of you, dumbass.”
?!
Sylvara’s head snapped towards him, but before she could attack, Evan’s hand, wreathed in flames, grabbed her face.
Burn.
KIARKKK!!!
Sylvara’s scream of agony reverberated through space as Evan’s flames consumed her, mercilessly searing her flesh.
An indigo sword of flames materialized in Evan’s right hand, and just as she clawed at him, raking deep wounds into his skin with bursts of elemental law energy, he drove the blade into her stomach twice, forcing another wretched cry from her lips.
But even as pain wracked her body, Sylvara continued lashing out.
Miresi and Leor, still searching through the devastation of the shattered superplanet, locked onto her position the moment her cries tore through the void.
Without hesitation, they charged forward at full speed, and Evan, sensing their approach, detonated the sword embedded in Sylvara’s body.
The explosion ripped apart some of her internal organs, but even then, even as his flames ate away at her, she still attacked, unleashing bursts of elemental law energies.
Evan responded with a punch to her face, then spun and flung her body toward the white giant star of the Kyrexis System.
As Sylvara rocketed through space, her body streaking toward the white star, Evan pursued, Miresi’s arrows and Leor’s FTL spears trailing dangerously close behind him.
Vanquisher!
