Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 1007 - 1007: Dawn Star

Vanquisher!

His sword, having exhausted its stored flames, shot through space—but not toward him. Instead, it veered toward Miresi, forcing her to raise her bow to deflect it instead of loosing another volley of arrows.

Simultaneously, Evan conjured a barrage of piercing weapons and sent them hurtling towards Leor to slow him down for a few seconds.

That was enough time for Evan to go full speed and reach Sylvara, who was still writhing as she tried to douse his flames on her body.

Evan reached her and grabbed her neck, then unhesitatingly slammed her into the white giant star.

Dragging her through the searing plasma, he let the star’s intense heat merge with his flames, amplifying their devastation upon her already-scorched body. Sylvara’s charred skin blackened further as they burst through the other end of the star.

Then, Evan turned and hurled her towards Leor who had curved around the star and was closing in for an attack.

!?

Leor abandoned his spear thrust and instead fired a storm of light projectiles toward Evan while simultaneously reaching out to catch Sylvara’s battered body.

At that moment, Evan raised his hand, and Vanquisher streaked back into his grasp. Cosmic energy surged through him, flowing up the sword’s length to its tip, where it erupted into a massive, searing sphere of flames.

A blazing star, as vast as the white giant beside him, ignited into existence.

Prismatic Inferno Authority: Dawn Star.

Evan pointed his sword forward, and the blazing star of flames surged toward Leor, consuming the light spears he had just hurled at Evan.

Cradling the wounded Sylvara, Leor immediately veered away, trying to escape the incoming inferno, but the fiery star shifted course, its speed accelerating with each passing second as it locked onto him.

‘I need to stop him.’

The thought crossed Evan’s mind barely a second before he hurled Vanquisher like a spear, the sword’s velocity surpassing both Leor’s movement and the attack pursuing him.

At that time Miresi, who had been delayed by Vanquisher’s interference, finally circled around the white giant star.

But before she could attack, Evan extended his hand—not to summon the sword, but to summon himself to it.

His body lurched through space at an insane speed, and before Evan could even become disoriented, his palm slammed against Vanquisher’s hilt.

Though momentarily dizzy from the abrupt acceleration, Evan tightened his grip and swung, unleashing a devastating slash of flames toward Leor.

Leor, caught between the descending flame slash and the rapidly approaching Dawn Star from below, had no time to even consider dodging to the side.

He raised his spear to block Evan’s attack, but in doing so, he remained in place just long enough for the Dawn Star to catch up.

The Dawn Star collided with his back in a nova-like detonation. Its energy, instead of expanding outward to obliterate the Kyrexis System, condensed entirely around him, trapping him within a cataclysmic furnace of esoteric fire.

Evan, immune to his own flames, dove straight into the inferno, thrusting his sword through Leor’s shield of light. The blade pierced into the god’s back, then burst out from his front, straight into the chest of the wounded Sylvara.

Once the shield shattered, the Dawn Star’s flames, no longer held at bay, consumed Leor’s body.

Evan twisted the sword, then ripped it free through Leor’s right side, simultaneously delivering a serious wound to him while completely killing Sylvara.

Three down.

Kicking off Leor’s back, Evan propelled himself out of the flames—only to be met with a thousand starry arrows streaking toward him from every direction.

Miresi stood atop the Giant King’s shoulder, her bow still raised, but it was the figure beneath the giant that caught Evan’s attention.

The Giant King was now riding an undead dragon.

‘Maybe I really should have killed Malrik when I said I was going to…’

Evan had this thought as he charged at them, sword swinging in a blazing arc just as the undead dragon unleashed a spectral breath in his direction.

His left hand reached into his subspace, pulling out two small crosses, each brimming with an immense concentration of life law energy and holy magic.

He flung them towards the undead, who instinctively tried to destroy them.

The dragon lashed out with its claw, attempting to swat the crosses away, while the giant threw his fist, unleashing a powerful shockwave to destroy them.

But the crosses were not so easily intercepted.

They curved around the dragon’s claw, bypassing its strike entirely, and embedded themselves into the back of its massive hand. The other cross deftly evaded the expanding radius of the giant’s shockwave, slipping past the destructive force before striking the underside of his arm just as he began to retract it.

The moment they made contact, the energy within them detonated, sending a surge of pure life law energy coursing through their bodies and straight into their souls.

The life energy—a charge of an Authority of Life—did its work instantly. It erased the mark of undeath Malrik had carved into their souls, severing the chains binding them to his will.

For the first time since their unwilling resurrection, the giant and dragon sensed freedom. Taking advantage of their undeath, they called upon the law of death and surrendered themselves to its embrace, invoking the natural order.

The law answered, reclaiming their souls and pulling them into the underworld where they were meant to be.

And as a final parting gift to the one who had enslaved them in undeath, they detonated all the remaining energy within their corpses.

Miresi had just drawn her bow when she sensed the energy surge, and she barely had time to leap off the giant’s shoulder before the corpse exploded.

Evan, already flying towards Kyrexis’ Prime, didn’t look back as the twin detonations lit up the void behind him, their brilliance making for a wonderful backdrop as he landed on the planet’s surface.

Before him, a wounded Malrik clutched his chest, his face contorted in pain. Naturally, having his Authority over his undead being forcibly revoked had caused him backlash, a sight that made Evan grin.

Sup, Malrik. How’d you like the gift your undead left for you?

…You bastard…!

Malrik instantly realized Evan was the one responsible for his undead breaking free, and the godslayer grinned at the scowl on his face.

Did you really think I wouldn’t prepare for your undead? There are a fuck ton of gods of Life and Elven Deities who really don’t like you.

Evan strode forward, his gaze sweeping the area as he spoke.

They were kind enough to give me a few little trinkets infused with their powers of life—the kind that works best against undead.

Even as he taunted Malrik, Evan remained alert, his eyes searching for any sign of Orothis, who hadn’t chased after him earlier.

‘Where’s that poisonous bastard?’

The answer came when the ground beneath him shattered, and a purple hand shot up, grasping for him.

Evan leapt back, looking down at the hand’s owner with a wicked grin.

“There you are, poisonous bastard.”

Orothis emerged from the earth, but he looked different from before.

His skin had darkened to a deep purple, his height had grown to nearly two meters, and the divinity radiating from him had doubled. His body seemed to glow poison, exuding a toxic mist that melted the ground beneath his feet.

‘Oh… True god form? I wish I had one of those.’

Evan had this fleeting thought as he landed, his boots skidding through the torn earth.

Orothis immediately released a tidal wave of poison that surged towards Evan, but before the godslayer could jump away, Malrik acted.

Authority of Death: Chains of Demise!

From the ground, black necrotic chains erupted, writhing toward Evan in an attempt to ensnare him. Evan merely raised a brow before conjuring his own chains with Ember Genesis, sending them lashing out to entangle Malrik’s, preventing them from reaching him.

His gaze snapped toward Malrik, and with no further delay, Evan charged at the god—Orothis hot on his heels.

Faced with Evan’s incoming charge, Malrik swung his scythe.

Death Scythe!

Cool. Mine’s called Life Sword.

Evan quipped as he swung his sword, unleashing a slash of green flames that collided with the arc of death energy in a violent burst, the two attacks neutralizing each other in the explosion.

The ground beneath Evan split apart as vines laced with poison burst upward, but he shot into the air to evade them before tracing a parabolic arc downward, landing behind Malrik.

Malrik spun around, swinging his scythe, and Evan’s straight blade clashed against the curved weapon.

Just then, Orothis’ voice rang out with a Declaration.

Domain Declaration: Interstellar Poison Swamp!

Space warped and the ground beneath them transformed into a foul, bubbling mire. Pools of luminescent poison formed, releasing a dense, toxic mist that corrupted the air. Vines slick with venom slithered up from the earth, coiling hungrily toward Evan.

But before the Domain could fully manifest, Evan stomped his foot down, unleashing a shockwave of cosmic energy and orange flames that blasted Malrik backwards.

Mesarthim; BLUE: Ashen Dominion + YELLOW: Ring of Purification + GREEN: Vitalic Eruption.

The environment warped once again.

The poison swamp disintegrated as the ground turned into a scorched wasteland, ashen and cracked, embers flickering in the air. A wide ring of yellow flames surrounded the battlefield, while geysers of green fire burst violently from the earth.

The two clashing Domains met head-on, but the Flames of Life and Purification overwhelmed the Poison Swamp, shattering it completely.

Orothis staggered from the backlash of his broken Domain, and Evan took advantage of the opening, hurling the Vanquisher toward Orothis.

The god barely managed to leap aside, avoiding the blade, but Evan wasn’t bothered—both by that and the corrosive projectiles Malrik fired at him.

He simply jumped backwards, landing in a geyser of green flames and elementalized his body in the inferno.

A second geyser erupted behind Orothis, and from its roaring flames, Evan’s body reformed.

The Vanquisher shot back into his waiting hands, but before he could bring it down on Orothis, Malrik intervened. The death god grabbed Orothis and yanked him away, intercepting Evan’s attack with his scythe.

Evan immediately released the Vanquisher, dropping low as the scythe swung above him. Indigo flames swirled around his arm as he conjured a new sword and swung upward, slicing cleanly through Malrik’s right arm.

‘Prismatic Inferno Authority: Sleeper Flame.’

As Malrik reeled back, Evan rose to his feet, activating his Authority. He swung the indigo blade in a horizontal arc, slamming the back of Malrik’s head and sending the god crashing face-first into the scorched ground.

Ignoring Malrik, Evan recalled Vanquisher and launched himself after Orothis.
