Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 1046 - 1046: Junior, you dare?!

“How do I look?” Beatrix asked with a teasing grin, spinning once more for emphasis.

Arthur paused, considering his words before replying, “Well, I already expected you guys to look pretty, but you went ahead and pulled a high jump over my expectations.”

Beatrix let out a delighted laugh, clearly taking the odd phrasing as a compliment. “What the hell does that even mean, Arthur?”

Arthur shrugged with a chuckle, while Evan, equally impressed but less articulate, simply pointed at him and said, “Yeah, I agree with whatever he said.”

Artemisia, unfazed by the banter, offered a calm “Thank you,” her gratitude quiet but genuine.

Though her expression stayed neutral, there was a subtle glimmer of satisfaction in her eyes. She had chosen her outfit with care, and while the compliments were anticipated, they were still appreciated.

As the four of them made their way toward the shop’s exit, they drew plenty of attention, looking every bit like they belonged on the cover of a fashion magazine.

The group quickly became the centre of attention at the store, not because of their outfits, but due to their striking looks. With the even gender ratio, a few onlookers assumed they were couples out on a double date, a misunderstanding that Arthur quickly cleared up, earning a few flustered reactions in the process.

Since they planned to stay on Denerth Prime for a while, they’d picked up several outfits, and after settling the bill, they stepped out of the shop and continued their exploration of Fengying.

The group’s first stop in Fengying was a lively street market, where they sampled local foods, led by Beatrix’s enthusiasm.

Afterwards, they visited a towering pagoda for a panoramic city view, then strolled through serene gardens filled with cherry blossoms, koi ponds, and lantern-lit paths. Beatrix energetically led the way, with the others following her pace. Once their exploration ended, they chose the first restaurant they saw for dinner.

The restaurant had a fairly impressive two-level design, with an open gallery above that overlooked the lively ground floor below.

Seated on the upper level were Arthur, Evan, Beatrix, and Artemisia, taking in the ambience while the inviting scent of food lingered in the air.

They had barely settled in when a commotion erupted downstairs.

Evan, glancing up from his menu, leaned back in his chair and asked, “What’s going on down there?”

Arthur turned his head, pupils darting around, and he quickly spotted the source.

A group of older men and women stood around a large table on the ground floor, each wearing frustrated expressions.

At the centre of their frustration was a lone young man, seated comfortably at a table clearly meant for a party of eight, yet occupied only by him.

It didn’t take too long for Arthur to understand the situation.

The restaurant was packed, and with no available tables, the elders wanted to join his. But the young man, exuding an air of indifference, refused outright.

One of the older men, voice raised, confronted him.

“Young man, this table can seat several people! It’s only fair that you share it with others when the restaurant is full.”

Still sipping his tea, the young man replied without even looking up.

“I booked this table for myself. If you want a seat, you’ll have to wait until I finish. It won’t take long—maybe five minutes, if you stop disturbing me.”

Though his tone remained calm, the words struck a nerve. The older patrons exchanged incredulous looks, clearly offended, and the hand of the one who spoke went to the hilt of his sword, his scowl deepening.

“Junior, you dare speak to us like that?”

For the first time, the young man looked up. His gaze wasn’t angry, just mildly annoyed, like someone forced to deal with a trivial nuisance.

“I dare speak to you however I want, and if you don’t like it, that’s your problem.”

His response only fanned the flames, sparking the spread of murmurs of discontent through the group.

One of the older women stepped forward, her voice sharp as she questioned him.

“Is this how the younger generation behaves now? No respect for their elders?”

“Look, I don’t care who you think you are. I’m not sharing my table. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to finish my meal in peace.”

The older man, now visibly enraged, stepped forward, his hand tightening around the hilt of his sword. His voice thundered across the restaurant.

“Junior, you dare—!”

He drew his sword in a flash, unleashing a wind law energy-infused slash that tore through the air, sending cutlery clattering and patrons ducking for cover.

Arthur and Evan watched from above, eyes wide in surprise at the sudden attack.

The young man, however, didn’t flinch. He calmly drew his sword and parried the blow with ease, sending a shockwave through the restaurant.

And just like that, the peaceful restaurant floor turned into a battlefield.

The older group, consisting of Legendries, launched a flurry of attacks. The air filled with law energy as they coordinated their strikes, tables and chairs flying from the force.

But the young man, revealing himself as an Inferior Sovereign, didn’t just hold his ground, he overpowered them. His blade moved like a flash of light, and within seconds, two of his opponents were disarmed and sent flying.

The rest fared no better. Unable to match the strength of the young Sovereign, they were overwhelmed one after the other.

With a final strike, the leader was hurled through the restaurant doors, leaving the entire group sprawled across the floor in defeat.

The young man calmly returned to his seat, sheathed his sword, and resumed eating as though nothing had happened.

Up in the gallery, Arthur and Evan stared in disbelief, trying to process what they had just seen.

Then, suddenly, they burst into loud, uncontrollable laughter that echoed throughout the restaurant.

“I can’t believe we just watched a sword fight in the middle of dinner,” Arthur said, wiping a tear from his eye.

“And he just went back to eating like nothing happened!” Evan added, barely able to breathe from laughing.

Their laughter echoed across the restaurant, drawing both confused and amused glances from other patrons. When the noise finally died down, Evan leaned back and said between chuckles,

“And I thought this kind of thing only happened in Manhuas! To think we’d witness it in reality, too.”

“Dude, you have no idea how shocked I was. For a moment, I thought we were the ones in the manhua,” Arthur replied, shaking his head.

They returned to ordering their meal, still laughing, as though nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.

Down below, the young man who had been at the centre of the conflict glanced up, having clearly heard their laughter.

He narrowed his eyes at them, and sensing his gaze, Arthur and Evan simultaneously turned toward him.

With a silent understanding between them, they decided to have a little fun.

Their eyes narrowed as they let the crimson glow of their destructive law energy seep out, sending a wave of oppressive pressure rolling off their bodies, altering the mood in an instant.

Arthur lowered his voice, giving it a menacing edge as he questioned.

“What? Got a problem with us laughing?”

The young man’s eyes widened slightly, instantly feeling the weight of their auras.

Evan, though appearing to be only in the Legendary Realm, emanated destruction energy that far exceeded that level. And Arthur… Arthur’s cultivation couldn’t even be sensed, which sent a cold chill down his spine.

Realising he was clearly outclassed, he quickly averted his gaze and returned to his food in silence, deciding not to press his luck.

Arthur and Evan shared a glance, then broke into laughter once more, their earlier menace fading as they slipped right back into their usual banter.

Across the table, Artemisia and Beatrix rolled their eyes at the boys’ antics.

“You two are so childish,” Beatrix said, shaking her head with a faint smile, while Artemisia nodded in agreement with a sigh.

Unbothered by the girls’ remarks, Arthur and Evan continued eating, the earlier chaos now little more than background noise to the rest of their evening.

◇ ◇ ◇

After finishing their meal at the restaurant, Arthur, Evan, Beatrix, and Artemisia stepped out into the cool night air, their gazes drifting upward toward the softly glowing sky.

But the peaceful moment was quickly interrupted when the sky above them darkened. A massive shadow passed overhead, not that of a passing cloud, but a colossal airship drifting silently through the clouds, its hull engraved with a crest unknown to them.

Crowds gathered in the streets below, cheering and waving up at the vessel, a reaction that sparked the group’s curiosity.

Arthur stopped a passing local to ask what was going on, and the man, surprised they didn’t already know, explained that the ship belonged to the Denerth Sect, the most powerful cultivation sect on the planet.

This response shifted the target of their interest to Denerth Prime’s cultivation structure.

From the man, and later a more knowledgeable wandering cultivator they spoke to, they pieced together the structure of power on Denerth Prime and the reasons for the city’s energy.

After asking a passing cultivator over drinks, they pieced together the following key information:

Cultivation Sects dominated the planet’s power structure, with thousands spread across Denerth Prime. These sects were divided into tiers, from 5th-tier (lowest) up to 1st-tier (elite). There were only about 100 1st-tier sects, making them incredibly exclusive despite the sheer number of sects on the planet.Standing at the top of this elite group was the Denerth Sect, which commanded immense influence and resources.

The cultivator went on to explain that what truly cemented the Denerth Sect’s supremacy was their control over numerous Secret Realms—hidden dimensional spaces filled with treasures, rare herbs, powerful cultivation techniques, and, of course, monsters.

These Secret Realms were coveted not just for their resources, but also for their pure, concentrated cultivation energy, and access to these realms greatly boosted a sect’s strength.

Further inquiries revealed that the energy quality inside these realms significantly accelerated growth for cultivators. Even those who did not cultivate but relied on more traditional levelling up benefited, as the monsters formed inside these realms yielded higher EXP.

The group also learned that a new Secret Realm under the Denerth Sect’s control would soon be opening. This event was generating massive attention, not just on Denerth Prime but from neighbouring planets as well.

Though the upcoming Secret Realm would primarily host Core and Inner Disciples of the Denerth Sect, slots had also been sold to other sects, including some from outside Denerth Prime.

Due to the limited number of participants allowed, these slots were highly coveted and extremely valuable.

Piecing everything together, Arthur and the others quickly realised that this was what Jamie had summoned them to Denerth Prime for: to participate in the upcoming Secret Realm expedition.

After thanking the cultivator for his time, the group wrapped up their conversations and returned to their hotels to rest, bringing an end to their first day on Denerth Prime.
