Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 1047 - 1047: Clichés

The next few days on Denerth Prime were rather uneventful… or at least, that’s what Evan would say if he ever found himself in a lying competition.

In truth, they were anything but uneventful—very eventful, in fact.

Evan lost count of how many classic cultivation comic clichés he stumbled into.

Then again, after experiencing a full-blown ‘Junior, you dare?!’ moment on their very first day, he really should’ve known what he was in for.

Day two only cemented that notion, when they ran into the “Peng Clan’s Young Master”, an encounter that made Evan laugh every time he thought about it.

It all began with a simple stroll.

Arthur and Evan had split off to explore another part of Fengying City while Beatrix and Artemisia took a more relaxed walk through the marketplace.

The city was bustling with energy, the morning sun casting a warm glow over the stone buildings and vibrant market stalls that lined the streets. The two goddesses walked side by side, their beauty drawing occasional glances.

However, their peaceful stroll was soon interrupted.

As they stopped for drinks at an open-air restaurant, Beatrix and Artemisia found themselves approached by a man in a phoenix-embroidered robe, trailed by several sycophants.

His chin was raised, eyes gleaming with arrogance, and he carried himself with the entitled air of a spoiled young master.

Then, with the confidence of someone who was used to his word being law, he declared the girls should become his concubines.

Beatrix and Artemisia exchanged a bewildered glance, completely taken aback by the scene. It felt so surreal that they both decided it must be a trick of the mind and opted to continue waiting for their drinks as if they hadn’t just heard him.

Their reaction—or lack of one—made the young master’s face twitch. Unused to being ignored, he raised his voice, drawing the attention of a growing crowd.

His presence had an immediate effect on the surrounding crowd, and the murmurs that followed allowed Artemisia and Beatrix to understand who this guy was.

He was the heir to the city’s ruling Peng Clan, notorious for his arrogance and inflated ego, fueled by his family’s power. To him, beautiful women were mere possessions, meant to be claimed.

The Peng Clan ruled over the city, and most civilians backed away, fearing the trouble his presence could bring.

But the girls couldn’t have cared less. Beatrix barely lifted an eyebrow, while Artemisia gave the man a look one might reserve for a particularly annoying insect.

Not wanting to deal with unnecessary trouble, they decided to leave, but the young master’s guard blocked their path.

Just when Artemisia was about to snap, and Beatrix began considering teleporting them away, Arthur and Evan finally arrived.

Though initially surprised by the crowd, the two didn’t care much about it, unaware that Artemisia and Beatrix were at the centre of it.

Arthur, ever casual, politely asked the guards to move, but they ignored him. One of them even stepped forward to shove Arthur back. But when his hand made contact, it felt like he’d struck solid stone.

As for Arthur, he glanced down at the guard’s hand, then looked up with an expression of pure confusion.

Why had this random guy just tried to push him out of nowhere?

Without an answer, Arthur simply retaliated—against all of the guards.

With a wave of his hand, he sent them flying across the street, then amplified the gravity around them, pinning them to the ground and making them pass out from the pressure.

He then casually walked up to the two girls as if he hadn’t just incapacitated over a dozen people.

This infuriated the young master, whose guards had just been subdued by Arthur with minimal effort. Despite the fear creeping into his voice at Arthur’s apparent power, he tried to maintain his bravado, shouting at Arthur and insisting that the godslayer had no idea who he was messing with.

Arthur, however, just looked at him in confusion. His perplexity was soon cleared up when Beatrix informed him that the young man was the heir to the city’s ruling clan.

Instantly, both Arthur and Evan froze, exchanging a glance that conveyed a shared understanding.

Then, almost in unison, they turned toward the arrogant young master.

“Dude, are you really the Peng clan’s young master?” Evan asked, his tone unusually serious.

At their sudden interest, the Peng clan’s young master, who had been seething with anger just moments ago, now wore an expression of smug satisfaction. Assuming they had finally recognised his greatness and understood their mistake, he puffed out his chest and declared.

“Yes, I am the young master of the great Peng clan.”

Arthur and Evan remained still for a moment, processing his words.

Then, without warning, they both burst into uncontrollable laughter, doubling over and clutching their stomachs, their laughter echoing down the street.

Bystanders, especially those familiar with the Peng clan’s power, couldn’t understand why these two boys found the situation so amusing. To them, the name “Peng clan” was a symbol of fear and respect, not a joke.

There was no way they would understand the concept of cliches that had the two boys laughing to the point of tears.

Artemisia and Beatrix exchanged knowing glances, and in a synchronised move, subtly stepped away from Arthur and Evan as if to distance themselves from the two laughing lunatics.

It took some time for Arthur and Evan to regain their composure. Then, Arthur, wiping away the last of the tears from his eyes, locked eyes with the Peng clan’s young master and asked.

“Alright, what you got next on your roster? Gonna call your hidden guards?”

“Arthur, you just knocked them unconscious.”

Evan reminded Arthur, and the boy’s eyes widened as he realised his mistake. He’d completely messed up the routine!

The Peng clan’s young master’s face darkened, his pride clearly wounded by their blatant mockery.

Beatrix’s follow-up remark, which criticised the Peng clan’s young master, only added to his growing frustration.

She first of all questioned if it was normal on Denerth Prime for young heirs to demand women as concubines in such an arrogant manner, then mocked the idea, mentioning that on Aidos, such behaviour would result in punishment from other governing families.

Her words struck a nerve with the crowd, causing some locals to feel embarrassed by the display, and her final remark, “Crazy planet,” hit the nail in the coffin.

Arthur then waved the young man off dismissively, but in his rage, he drew his sword, and using his best technique, lunged toward Arthur with a burst of energy.

Unfortunately for him, Arthur easily caught his sword mid-strike, before accidentally snapping it like a twig between his fingers.

“Ah,” Arthur blinked in surprise, glancing down at the shattered remains of the sword, while Evan, standing off to the side, commented, “You still haven’t gotten a handle on your strength, huh?”

Arthur turned back to Evan, completely ignoring the stunned young master, whose prized sword had just been destroyed.

“Dude, do you know how much my strength has increased? It’s really hard to control these days. I mean, I could just accidentally wave my hand and—”

Before Arthur could finish, he casually waved his hand to demonstrate, his palm brushing the Peng Clan’s young master’s shoulder. The impact, however, was anything but casual.

With the force of an Intermediate Transcendent behind it, the young master was sent hurtling across the street, crashing through a wall with a deafening thud.

Arthur froze, staring at the crater where the young master now lay embedded.

“Ah,” he said again, this time with a bit more concern.

Evan just laughed at the situation, while Artemisia and Beatrix facepalmed, incredulous that Arthur had actually sent the guy flying with a simple wave.

Of course, that wasn’t the end of it.

Almost immediately, a Sovereign Realm elder from the Peng Clan appeared, demanding retribution for Arthur ‘attacking’ their young master.

However, just like the young master, the elder was quickly subdued by Arthur, who froze him in time before dropping him to the ground with gravity manipulation.

As if that weren’t enough, another elder arrived, shouting for them to ‘Die’ before charging at Evan with his sword drawn.

The elder believed Arthur, anticipating an attack, would be caught off guard by the unexpected target and lose his balance while trying to protect the weaker Evan. It was a calculated move to force Arthur into a difficult situation.

Unfortunately, even though Evan was weaker in comparison to Arthur, he was still strong enough to effortlessly swat the man away with the arm of his Tempest Avatar skill, as though the elder were made of paper.

Just when Arthur and Evan were about to leave before more people showed up to demand retribution, another group descended from the sky.

This time, they weren’t from the Peng Clan. They were Cultivator Lords of Denerth Prime, though Arthur and Evan didn’t know this.

Upon seeing them, the crowd immediately dropped to one knee, bowing low in a deep show of reverence.

But Arthur, Evan, Artemisia, and Beatrix remained standing, entirely unfazed.

Arthur raised an eyebrow and, in the sudden silence, asked a very important question.

“You guys don’t happen to be affiliated with the Peng Clan, do you?”

Gasps rippled through the crowd as some onlookers shot horrified glances at Arthur, whispering in fear.

“Are you insane? Get on your knees! Don’t get us punished!”

“They’re Cultivator Lords!”

“Drop on your knees immediately!!”

Despite the warnings from the bystanders, the group remained unfazed as the Cultivator Lords landed nearby.

Arthur, completely unfazed by the tension, casually repeated his earlier question, “So… you’re not from the Peng Clan, right?”

“…”

The question lingered in the air as the Cultivator Lords stood in stunned silence, their gazes alternating between Arthur and the unconscious Peng Clan members scattered across the street.

Finally, one of them spoke.

“No, we are not affiliated with the Peng Clan. However, we would like to understand exactly what transpired here.”

In response to this, Arthur gave an explanation that basically amounted to, “Well, they started it.”

Before things could escalate further, however, a portal suddenly opened up above, and out stepped Jamie, his voice carrying an impatient tone.

The moment he appeared, the Cultivator Lords immediately bowed low, their earlier authoritative demeanours disappearing instantly.

Jamie, visibly irritated, dismissed their formalities and blatantly scolded them for complicating the simple task he’d given them—to get Arthur, Artemisia, Beatrix and Evan.

One of them explained that they were assessing the situation due to the incident with the Peng Clan, but Jamie, who couldn’t care less about the politics of Denerth Prime, dismissed their concerns.

The Cultivator Lords, despite knowing the Peng Clan members had likely stirred the trouble, couldn’t afford to publicly side with the foreign group, especially with the street full of onlookers.

But when Jamie reminded them of who the members of said foreign group were, they quickly fell silent.

Artemisia and Beatrix were the daughters of the ‘Supreme’ god King and Queen.

As for Arthur, the Lords had witnessed first-hand the devastation he caused during the war of Toverus just last month.

Evan, while not as famous as the others, was still a notable figure, both being Arthur’s Aide and having created his own share of chaos. After all, normal people don’t leave entire islands burning for weeks.

Quick reminder, it had been 30 days since Evan left the islands in the south of Toverus’ Plewren Continent on fire.

After exchanging a few more words and some light banter, the teenage quartet headed back to their hotel to collect their belongings before making their way to the Denerth Sect’s headquarters with Jamie.

Evan could only describe the entire day as one extended cultivation manhua scenario.

A young master with too much pride, random declarations of family status, an over-the-top retaliation, a Sovereign getting literally face-slapped, and a not-so-mysterious benefactor making a casual appearance to wrap it all up in a bow.

“All that’s missing now is the tournament arc,” Evan mused, already suspecting that it was on the agenda for their stay on Denerth.
