Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 1089 - 1089: Evan vs Ukath [Monthly Bonus 2]

High above the city, Ukath flapped his wings, weaving through bursts of elemental magic and skills unleashed by the trio of spirits surrounding him.

He had just eliminated the weakest link in their formation and already had his sights set on the next target, gathering his magic power in preparation to strike.

A spear of ice flew toward his chest, but he easily turned and knocked it aside with a gravity-infused punch, the impact sending shockwaves rippling outward.

One of the spirits attacked from behind, launching blades of wind, but Ukath released a gravitational burst from his back, dispersing the attack before it could connect.

Just as he did that, a lightning wielder rained bolts down from the sky, but Ukath cloaked his fist in law energy and punched upward, scattering the lightning with the resulting shockwave.

He lightened his body and beat his wings, accelerating toward the lightning user, then threw a punch that shattered their lightning barrier and smashed into their torso with a space-warping impact, sending them crashing to the ground with a trail of blood.

One of the other spirits attempted to trap him inside a high-pressure water sphere, but Ukath broke through it with another punch, charging forward and drawing his fist back to strike the spirit responsible for it.

But just before he could launch the attack—

“Greetings.”

—a voice suddenly echoed from behind him, and a rose of crimson flames bloomed across the side of Ukath’s face.

“Wha—!!”

**BAAMM!!

A lightning-wreathed fist slammed into the blooming flames before he could even get a word out, tearing straight through the energy layer shielding his skin. The resulting explosion of flame and lightning launched his body downwards like a cannonball.

He plummeted at supersonic speed, tore through the inner section of the city walls, collapsed a massive portion of the structure, and finally crashed outside, leaving a wide crater in his wake.

The spirits who had been battling him let out stunned voices, their gazes snapping toward the casually dressed boy who had just punched their opponent out of the sky.

Without even sparing them a glance, he clenched his fist again, coating it in destruction law energy as he spoke.

“I’ll handle the Vice-Commander. You lot focus on protecting your forces from the devils.”

His tone wasn’t loud, but the pressure he gave off made it difficult for them to object.

He didn’t wait for a response. A pair of white wings burst from his back, and with a single beat, he shot through the sky at supersonic speed, chasing after the devil he had sent crashing into the ground moments before.

Evan landed beside Ukath just as the devil was struggling to rise, immediately reaching out and grabbing him by the collar. He lifted Ukath high into the air and slammed him into the ground with such force that the devil’s body bounced upward from the impact.

Following up, Evan delivered a kick that sent Ukath hurtling into a nearby platoon of infernal devil mages unleashing spells on the spirits attacking from the sky.

As he watched the devil crash into the midst of the mage formation and scatter them like dominoes, a thought crossed his mind.

‘My last kick… it was blocked.’

Immediately, Evan activated Factor Mimic, sending a copy of himself charging toward the location.

But just as it reached the location, a dense mass of gravitational law energy erupted and obliterated the mimic in an instant.

He then teleported into the space the intense gravity wave had passed, watching as Ukath’s eyes widened in shock upon seeing him. The devil thought he’d landed a clean counter, but what he’d hit was only the mimic.

Evan seized the devil’s outstretched arm, unfurled his wings, and spun his body mid-air, using the momentum to hurl Ukath skyward.

As the devil ascended, Evan’s horns emerged and magic power gathered in his mouth. Within a second, a torrent of crimson-gold ice erupted from his mouth, slamming into Ukath and freezing him from the neck down to the knees.

‘Blue Judgement’.

Laurene’s skill activated and a bolt of lightning shot down from above, crashing onto the frozen Ukath, shattering the ice and sending electricity coursing through his body.

Using Blink, Evan closed the distance, his lightning-clad fist shooting forward.

Despite the convulsions racking his body, Ukath forcefully resisted the paralysis by pushing magic power through his body, barely in time to throw out his fist to meet Evan’s.

Their fists collided with a thunderous shockwave, but Ukath was the one sent flying, blown away by the force of the exchange.

Evan immediately pushed his advantage, closing the distance and unleashing another flurry of punches, with half of them landing cleanly on Ukath’s body.

Ukath tried to counter, swinging his gravity-enhanced fist, but Evan deflected the blow with ease, returning the favour with a right-straight that broke the devil’s nose.

“Guk!”

He flapped his wings and tried to gain distance, but Evan thwarted all those efforts using Blink.

Clicking his tongue, Ukath pumped an egregious amount of magic power into his arm, preparing to unleash a straight punch that would crush the space ahead with immense gravitational force.

But just as his arm pulled back, Evan’s dragon tail lashed out and wrapped tightly around the devil’s arm, pulling it off-course.

“Wh-!!”

Ukath’s balance broke for a moment, creating an opening for Evan to drive a clean right straight into Ukath’s face, snapping his head back and sending him staggering.

Before the devil could recover, Evan spun in the air and delivered a roundhouse kick to the side of Ukath’s head, launching him downward like a meteor.

Evan didn’t give the devil breathing space, shooting down after him and catching up in seconds. He followed up with another punch that sent his body hurtling down faster.

Ukath crashed with a meteoric impact, tearing a crater in the middle of the city and flattening buildings all around.

But the moment he hit the ground, a torrent of infernal energy erupted from his body.

Bellowing in fury, his eyes blazing, Ukath hurled his right fist skyward and roared, “TITAN PUNCH!”

Gravity law energy condensed in the form of a fist and rocketed upwards, colliding with Evan faster than he could dodge and sending him flying into the sky.

Ukath spread his wings and charged after him, catching up mid-air and unleashing a storm of punches.

This time, Evan was on the back foot, his arms moving rapidly to block and deflect each blow. Still, Ukath’s attacks came in faster and faster, each one hammering down with overwhelming force as the tide began to turn.

The two clashed at supersonic speed, every exchange releasing powerful shockwaves that scattered clouds and knocked devils and spirits alike from the air. More than half the battlefield was unable to see anything beyond the trails of light and shockwaves that followed in their wake.

Ukath attacked without pause, throwing out one gravity-enhanced punch after another, forcing Evan to block repeatedly, barely keeping up as he parried strikes that distorted the space around them.

The pressure of the gravity-enhanced fists continued to build, and the force behind each strike pushed Evan back slightly each time.

He activated Elemental Weapon Projection and launched a series of lightning and ice blades behind Ukath, but the infernal devil created a gravity barrier behind him that blocked the elemental projectiles mid-flight.

In that same moment, Ukath threw out another enhanced punch that shattered Evan’s ice shield, blowing him back with the shockwave.

Evan used Thunderclap, forming a wall of lightning blocks that collapsed inward on Ukath, but the devil simply turned the gravity shield behind him into a sphere, and the collapsing lightning blocks failed to breach the dense gravitational shell that nullified the damage.

Attempting to take distance, Evan moved higher into the air, but Ukath used gravity law energy to pull him back forcefully, and before Evan could properly reorient himself, Ukath unleashed another rapid barrage of punches, pushing Evan on the defensive as each strike came faster and with more pressure, several of them shattering his ice barriers and forcing him to retreat again.

Ukath extended his left hand low, clenched his fist, and pulled upward, uprooting entire buildings from the battlefield below and lifting them into the air.

Swinging his arms, Ukath flung the buildings towards the skies, turning them into massive projectiles directed at every airborne figure nearby.

“Tsk…Ice Nova!”

Evan unleashed a powerful burst of crimson-gold ice, freezing them in place mid-air and then redirecting them back to Ukath. However, the devil met the frozen masses with punches that instantly reduced them to countless shards.

Blue Judgment activated again, and another bolt of lightning descended, forcing the infernal devil to halt and raise his gravity barrier. In that moment, Evan opened his mouth and unleashed an ice breath on Ukath.

This time, however, Ukath wasn’t caught unprepared. He reinforced the gravity sphere surrounding him with multiple layers, making it strong enough that the combined lightning and ice attacks failed to penetrate the dense gravitational defence.

Ukath immediately used his law energy to drag Evan’s body downward with tremendous force, throwing off his balance. Seizing the opening, he lightened his own body with gravity manipulation and shot forward at blinding speed, fists already pulled back.

Closing the distance in a moment, he threw out a series of punches, pushing Evan back through the air with each strike that forced Evan to block with greater effort than before.

Meanwhile, at the command centre, Holone stood near the railing, watching the ongoing battle with growing anxiety.

The spirits around her were just as tense, visibly shaken by the fact that Evan, despite his previous dominance, was now clearly being pushed back.
