Chapter 782 - 782: The Vanished Corpse
Core Dimension
Planetary Core
Aidos
November 4th
Year 1054
‘Aidos’ returned to her Core Dimension, the same place where she met with Evan during the time that he was unconscious after devouring Faldo’s heart.
The place looked the same as it was when Evan was last here.
A verdant green field, with perfectly trimmed grasses, fluffy white clouds floating across the clear blue sky, and a giant ‘Sun’ in the sky.
Said ‘Sun’ was actually the planet’s core though and there were countless multidimensional barriers surrounding it that even Higher Existences with Authorities in the law of Space would sweat trying to unravel.
‘She’ moved towards the table and chairs set up on a small elevated hill, taking a seat there.
Suddenly—
[….huh?!]
—the Incarnation of the Planet’s Consciousness let out a dumbfounded voice as ‘she’ came to a realisation.
‘Her’ iridescent eyes glowed and a kaleidoscope of images flashed through them.
[Where?]
‘She’ held up her hands and conjured dozens of floating screens, projections and holograms, thousands appearing in an instant.
[Where is it??]
Displayed on these floating screens and by the projections, were the live scenes of hundreds of thousands of people all across planet Aidos.
The scenes were rapidly changing, moving at thousands of frames per second and ‘her’ eyes darted around, scanning through each one, however, ‘she’ could not find what ‘she’ was looking for.
[Where’s Conroe’s body??!!]
The Sun Celestial.
The Strongest of the Fallen Celestial Deities on Aidos.
He had perished less than an hour ago, and the Planet’s Consciousness had lost track of his corpse.
After death, leaving behind a corpse was kind of the standard. Even if the corpse was buried, as far as it was on the Planet, then ‘Aidos’ should know where it was.
In Conroe’s situation, his ‘Absolute Death’ curse, placed on him by the Infernal Devil King’s Ultimate Skill 1500 years ago, did not affect his physical body.
It affected his soul, the root of his existence.
So even after killing his soul, it did not touch his body.
As such, his body should still remain, but now it was nowhere to be found.
[The Heavenly Celestial kept his daughter’s—the Moon Celestial’s—corpse for thousands of years in hopes of reviving her when he restored his power.
There’s no way he’d cremate his son’s corpse less than an hour after his death.]
Yet, the truth remained that ‘Aidos’ could not find Conroe’s body.
[This doesn’t make any sense. Even if he took it off the planet, I should have noticed when he was doing it.
But it vanished without a trace…!]
‘Aidos’ pulled up floating screens displaying the locations of all the Celestials in real time and ‘she’ looked around, scanning each one of their reactions to see if she could find anything.
‘She’ moved from the Verglas Celestial to the Illusion Celestial, to the Heavenly Celestial, to the Faith Celestial, t—
[Wait, what?!]
‘Her’ head snapped back in the Heavenly Celestial’s direction, noticing a tiny release of energy that came from him.
It was small, infinitesimally small. But it was impossible for it to escape ‘her’ notice.
[That was Divinity.
Celestials have ‘Celestial Energy’, NOT Divinity. So why did he have Divinity?]
This was very suspicious in the eyes of ‘Aidos’ who has had these Celestials under observation for over a thousand years.
[What’s more, that Divinity felt familiar…?]
The first name that came to ‘her’ mind was Artemisia. But leaving aside how Artemisia disliked these Celestials, ‘Aidos’ knew Artemisia’s energy frequency by heart.
‘She’ wouldn’t mistake it for someone else’s.
It only took her a split second for ‘her’ to realise why Artemisia’s name came to her mind.
‘She’ quickly identified the owner of that divinity.
[It’s not Artemisia, it’s that person’s—.]
|You always were a sharp one, Aidos. |
[?!]
A True Voice rang out from behind ‘Aidos’, surprising the Planetary Consciousness as ‘she’ had not sensed its owner break into this Dimension!
‘She’ turned around immediately and when ‘she’ saw the person standing not too far behind ‘her’, ‘she’ realised her guess was correct.
‘I need to warn Evan!’
That was ‘her’ first thought, so ‘she’ tried to buy time for ‘her’ thought transmission to reach the Hero.
However—
|Not happening. |
Pitch-black darkness burst from the man’s body and devoured the energy around ‘her’, as well as the signals of ‘her’ transmission.
All of this happened in a split second.
?!
[McE-!]
Faster than ‘Aidos’ could finish uttering that word, the man, moving faster than light, appeared behind ‘her’, placed his hand on the back of ‘her’ head and released a wave of darkness that permeated into ‘her’.
|Condensing an Incarnation, only makes it easier for me to get you. |
With the man’s words, the ‘her’ body instantly slacked and fell backwards, like a puppet whose strings had been cut.
The man caught ‘her’ body and laid ‘her’ back on the chair as he spoke.
|I’d need you to take a little nap for a while. Can’t have you alerting Evan and Artemisia. |
He then glanced at the floating screens displaying the live footage of the Celestials before and sighed.
|I look forward to our meeting, Evan.|
Suddenly, he froze in his tracks as he realised something.
|Come to think of it, if I wasn’t here, Evan still wouldn’t have found out, right? But how? There’s nothing nearby that could have stopped Aidos from telling him what she just discovered. |
After pondering on it for a few seconds, he shrugged his shoulders and began walking away.
|Oh well, that’s a problem for Time manipulators and not me. It’s their job to deal with these strange stuffs.
As for me, my job is to get back home before my little girl starts crying for her daddy. |
Thinking about his youngest daughter, the man smiled lightly before his body sunk into his shadow and disappeared through a small tiny gap in the dimension.

‘Well, he’s definitely pissed.’
That was the line of thought that crossed the mind of ‘Sixth Finger’ Seith Beddoe as he beheld the sight of his boss in front of him.
The man was impeccably dressed in a form-fitting three-piece suit, its midnight-black fabric contrasting sharply against the crisp white of his shirt. His polished shoes gleamed under the light, and a perfectly tied, deep crimson tie completed the ensemble, exuding an air of sophistication.
It would have made for a nice scene if you ignored the tiny chunks of small rocks that once made up a certain popular 4000+ metre tall mountain which was known far and wide in Calnola.
A glance at the man’s dusty right hand was all Seith needed to know that he had punched the mountain and violently fragmented it in a fit of rage.
Of course, with his level of power, he could casually turn a large mountain into rock crumbs and all he’d need to worry about was the dust that’d get on him.
That much was expected of the ‘First Finger’ of the ‘Demonic Hand’.
Seith was present here, to give a report regarding the attack by a ‘Living Legend’ of the GEE the day before.
First Division Senior Members surrounded them, with their heads bowed, while ‘Fourth Finger’ Cellica, someone he hadn’t seen in a while was near him.
Her state felt off; like she was injured or something.
‘Last year it was Zestari Herrel, what’s it this time?’
Glancing around once more, he noticed the absence of Kranul, the ‘Third Finger’, guessing that the man was probably in the Barbarian Country of Tharvoria.
‘Fifth Finger’ Deram was on the Dark Continent, ‘Seventh Finger’ Kethryllia was probably with her elder sibling, and said elder sibling who was also the ‘Second Finger’, simply didn’t care about the situation.
The ‘Second Finger’ was an IDGAF kinda person.
Unless it involved their younger sister, they couldn’t be bothered to care about what was going on.
“My lord, I used my skill to check his recent memories after killing him.
All I could find was a message he received a week ago, asking him If he was ready and in position, to which he simply replied Yes.”
“Don’t worry about it, I already know who was responsible. It was Evan Eris.”
“”…what?””
Both Cellica and Seith were dumbfounded by this conclusion. Sure, Evan had been a menace but it didn’t mean he was behind every problem they had…right?
“We’ve had tabs on Evan Eris’ location since that stunt he pulled in Blealand with the Holy Knights. He has had no time to contact with those Living Legends since he was too busy with those new Television Devices.”
Seith felt that it wasn’t right to simply blame Evan, but the First Finger—whom Evan and Agnes referred to as Ferrid—thought otherwise.
“The last time we had information of Evan Eris in contact with multiple Living Legends was during that Wolfen skirmish last year.
After that, he has indeed been busy running around trying to increase his fame.”
When Ferrid said this, Cellica’s eyes widened as she quickly understood what he was insinuating.
“My Lord, Wolfen happened 17 months ago. Isn’t it a bit far-fetched to say Evan Eris planned for this then?”
“We originally planned for Lacertilia to happen in 4 years and Tarse in 6. What makes you think Evan Eris can’t make a plan to attack us in 17 months?”
“…”
His words made Cellica and the others present realise they had been indeed a bit narrow-minded in their thinking.
“But that’s still not enough to conclude it’s him…”
Seith seemed unable to accept that a teenager like Evan actually had the political power necessary to move so many Living Legends and Sovereigns, as well as tens of thousands of military personnel of different countries!
“Oh, don’t worry. I already ran deductions with the law of fate.”
