Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 783 - 783: Evan used Trap: It failed Spectacularly!

“Oh, don’t worry. I already ran deductions with the law of fate.

The sheer number of deformations that I found at the end of the fate lines could only be caused by Irregulars who distort World Laws with their mere presence. Because of these distortions, it’s nigh impossible for me to deduce anything with Irregulars involved.

Of course, any Irregular could be behind this, however…”

Ferrid opened up his subspace and pulled out a few pictures, tossing them to Seith. Cellica moved over to look at the pictures and was met with the sight of three unpleasantly teenagers seated on hanging chairs at a beach.

“That was taken by some of their fans and rapidly circulated on TV and the morning paper.

The location was Sushye in Wechil.”

“That’s near the Dimensional Realm Island.”

“Well, not anymore. All that’s left are floating rocks on the water.”

“?!”

The two Executives were surprised to discover that the entire island had been destroyed by the three Heroes.

First off, they were shocked that One Epic and Two Grandmasters could unleash such an amount of devastation, even if they were in Series Skill Resonance state. (The Demonic Hand does not know David and Laurene are Epics.)

Secondly, they were surprised by the ruthlessness of the three teenage Heroes who destroyed the entire island just to take out the base.

Little did they know that the Island’s destruction was simply a coincidence. If Laurene had been the one to open the Dimensional Realm, then there would have been no Destructive Essence eating at the space and the Dimensional Realm would not have collapsed, destroying the island by extension.

Of course, the Demonic Hand didn’t need to know that. They just needed to think that the three teenage Heroes could be ruthless when needed.

Seith frowned when he saw the images, putting them away as he spoke.

“My Lord, Kranul may have said this before, but isn’t it high time you gave THE order to eliminate him?

Previously, you ordered that all Grandmasters and below were to retreat upon the sight of him to avoid turning our men into cannon fodder to make him stronger.

You also ordered for all Epics to kill him on sight.

However, he’s grown so strong that our Epics are the ones being killed on sight.

Now the time for Tarse is fast approaching, and he’s made us lose nearly 130,000 of our combatants we’ve gathered and painstakingly trained over the years.”

Stepping forward, Seith continued.

“If Evan Eris is really the mastermind and is the one feeding them information on us, then we should eliminate him.”

Ferrid noticed the strange emphasis Seith placed on the word ‘We’, a conjecture blooming in his mind instantly. Seith confirmed that conjecture with his next words.

“I do not mean sending Senior Members or Fake Heroes…”

Grabbing his sword and lighting up the blade with black demonic flames, Seith concluded.

“…I’m saying we Executives should go after him.

Cellica, Deram and I. To make sure he’s dead for good, we can pull Kranul in.”

Seith was ready to have four Living Legends go after Evan to kill him. Four Level 700s against one Level 500.

It should be noted that of the Four Legendries, 3 were Superior Stages! Strong enough to destroy a small country!

That was the kind of power Seith wanted to send after Evan, to make sure Evan could not be able to pull a fast one on them.

“Just give the order, My lord.”

“…”

Ferrid looked at Seith’s glowing eyes, shaking his head as he thought to himself.

‘This is clearly the wisest decision. Send a force that cannot resist, isolate him and end him for good.

Unfortunately…’

“Seith, your idea makes perfect sense.

Of course, we did try that last time. I sent Craitid after him when he was not even Level 300 yet. And somehow, Craitid—a Level 580—died, and I still don’t know how.

Fake Hero #12 was lost as well.

Now, he’s over Level 500. Sending four Level 700s is nothing but a guaranteed death sentence.

Yet…”

Ferrid raised his hand and activated his Unique Skill, gathering the pristine golden energy of the World law of Fate in his palm.

His Unique Series Skill was a very rare one in the Galaxy, just as rare as the Heroes’ ‘Mystic Series Skills’.

And if there was one thing about rare stuff that needs to be noted, then it was the fact that they were usually more powerful than normal.

Ferrid’s skill displaying a sight only those who comprehended the Law of Fate were meant to see was a prime example of this.

The golden fate law energy burst out from his palm and cast a translucent veil on the surroundings, allowing them to ‘see’ the Lines connected to all the existences nearby.

Translucent, ethereal lines.

These countless lines intertwined together to form a massive net that enveloped the sky, and even the entire world.

The net filled the world, enveloping everyone and everything, including Ferrid himself.

It looked like the lines were extending out of their bodies and intertwining with the countless lines in the world.

These were the ‘Lines of Fate’ or simply ‘Fate Lines’.

“For some reason, when I had that thought to send you against him—”

Ferrid’s fingers twitched lightly and then the golden lines extending from Cellica and Seith…turned pitch black!

“—’that’ happened.”

Even if one didn’t understand how fate manipulation worked, it was pretty clear what this meant.

The end of the line.

Death!

For their fate lines to turn dark when Ferrid had this thought, it meant that executing it would result in the deaths of both Cellica and Seith!

Flummoxed, the two executives frowned, as did the First Division Senior Members who had their heads bowed.

“I’ve been thinking about it for the past few hours, and there’s only one conclusion I can come to.”

When they looked at him for the answer, Ferrid delivered the most outlandish theory they could never have expected.

“It was a MASSIVE bait.

The attack on our bases, taking out over 100,000 combatants…was all just bait.”

“Bait…? For what?”

In response to Seith’s question, Ferrid pointed at him and Cellica as he replied.

“You.”

“?!”

“Evan Eris is not foolish. He knows we’d understand just how much political power he now holds after this stunt.

He knows we’d be more on guard against him. He knows that we would try to take him out.

And yet he still did this.

How I see it, he’s baiting us into taking action.”

For the Demonic Hand, the best way to take Evan out would be to send forces he absolutely cannot resist—Level 700 and above.

But from Ferrid’s fate manipulation, they had just seen that even a Superior Stage Legendary like Cellica would face death if she was to go, so anyone weaker would just be a waste!

“Evan Eris cannot defeat a level 700. So, this means that he’s laid some sort of trap and is waiting for us to walk right into it.

Whoever we send would surely die, and Executive or not, it’d still be a loss for us. An even greater loss than the one we faced yesterday.”

If Evan was present to hear Ferrid say this, the boy would give the man a standing ovation—before punching him in the face for ruining Phase 2 of his plan!

As for Seith, he was furious.

‘To think I was almost playing right into his hand!’

He honestly had not expected Evan to layer multiple plans into one like this. Killing multiple birds with one fat, appetizing stone.

While Seith was seething, Ferrid was thinking about the other thing he had begun noticing from sometime in the afternoon.

He was trying to figure out how to pay Evan back for this loss, even if it meant targeting those around him.

When he used his skill on Eliza, he was surprised to see it worked without any interruptions.

Normally, Evan’s presence caused great interference so he could not deduce anything about Eliza, Roselia, Nadarus, Kayla, Kuro and Milena.

They were all contracted to him but Ferrid didn’t know this.

What he knew, was that Evan’s Irregular Grade was surely higher than normal as the boy’s distortion effect spread to people around him.

And yet…he was able to deduce things about them today without issues.

Of course, targeting Eliza revealed a pitch-black fate for anyone involved.

Targeting Roselia and Nadarus, as well as Kuro and Milena revealed grey fates.

Targeting Kayla…showed nothing.

As if Kayla was too ‘high’ for his power to affect her. He attributed this to the Pseudo-Authority the spirit possessed, something that allowed her to resist or completely inviolate herself from the effects of law powers below the Pseudo-Authority level.

He then tried to use his skill on Evan, and to his surprise, the skill couldn’t find him!

Thinking about it for a while, he came to 2 possible conclusions.

Evan had gained something that let him hide from Evan’s skill, or that the boy…wasn’t on the planet!

‘I’m more inclined to believe it’s the second.

But to think that boy has found a way to go off-world. How? A Dimensional Rift? Or are the rumours of his direct connection to Artemisia really true?

However, isn’t Artemisia supposed to be busy now? How could she have time to send someone off-world…’

He pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind as they were not a priority right now. Looking up, he spoke to the two Executives in front of him.

“That boy laid a trap for us, one we’d have fallen into if it wasn’t for my skill. At this point, we have no choice but to suffer this loss in silence.

However, thanks to Evan not being around, I was able to deduce a few things about Laurene Hayes and David Thancreed.

In the near future, their fate lines turned a bit…grey.”

In other word. 50/50 chance of life and death

“Karma is a really bad bitch.

Evan Eris sowed Karma when he attacked us, and he’s going to be reaping it very soon.”
