Chapter 799 - 799: Missing Prologue [Monthly Bonus 2]
“…She told me Our History Books have been praising the wrong people.”
Laurene had said that line to Evan when they first met four years ago, and it was something that Evan had agreed on.
“So, tell me what they did that makes you hate them so much? Are they not the ones who saved the world and sealed the Dimensional Rift? Or is that a lie they fabricated as well?”
Seeing her question if their feats were a lie, Evan laughed as he knew she said this due to her discovery that they had hidden the truth of the Transcendents from 1000 years ago.
“Don’t worry, that’s not a lie. They did save the World.”
“Is that so? So, what’s in our History books is correct?”
“Yeah.”
Evan nodded in affirmation, opening his inventory and bringing out a book and placing it in front of Eliza.
When she glanced at the cover, she saw it was a standard history textbook used in schools. Evan slid the book closer to her before speaking.
“A History Textbook from the Gerfast Royal Academy. Open it, please.”
Eliza did as he said and then Evan glanced at the page heading, asking her what she saw there.
“Chapter 1.”
“Exactly. The book starts from Chapter 1.
But you see…”
Evan flipped back to the content page of the textbook, pointing his finger at the space between the end of the Contents and the beginning of Chapter 1 as he continued.
“…the History Books don’t record the Prologue.”
“?!”
In the order of a book, mostly novels, there was a Prologue that came before Chapter 1. Evan saying that the History Books were missing a Prologue, meant that there were important Events that happened before the War of 1000 years ago and these Events were not recorded.
These Events were also the reason why Evan and Laurene disdained Arlan and Yvonne so much.
Ranking Evan’s displeasure for the previous Seven Heroes, Arlan sat on top, then Yvonne, then Felicia—the Previous Third.
Honestly, he didn’t really hate Felicia; what he hated was her taste in men. It sounded strange, but Felicia’s taste in men was the root cause of one of Evan’s greatest problems.
As for Ikzen the Sixth, Evan saw that one as an insufferable battle junkie. Zaclas the Seventh was just strange. Ellisar the Fifth followed as one of the ones Evan felt was reasonable.
Funny enough, Evan disliked their former leader—Alisa the First—the least.
It wasn’t that she wasn’t without her problems—Elves that lived as long as she had all had one or two screws loose. But Evan was confident he wouldn’t punch her on reflex if he was to ever see her in person.
‘Not that I would be able to.
Abigail is the current First, which means that Alisa’s soul is gone.’
Just as Evan thought that, his gaze moved to the time displayed on the System and his eyes widened in surprise.
“Damn, it’s already noon! I got an appointment.”
He sprang to his feet, not bothering to clear up the things on the desk as he dashed towards the room door after grabbing his hoodie, cap and glasses.
Evan’s presence on this Train was a secret, and so was the fact that he, Laurene and David were currently in Tarse.
Laurene and David were on a separate Train, the Beast King’s Incognito Train that they had used when going to the GEE last year.
Only Evan and his party were using this Commercial Train because Evan had some stops he wanted to make on the way.
After tossing on his hoodie and putting on his shades to hide his eyes, Evan left the suite and headed towards the Bar Train Car where his guest awaited.
This ‘guest’, was ‘Strongest Human’ Rathal, one of Aidos’ five Transcendents, and the man was here with a lead on the urgent matter of locating the Master of Dragondune.
This ‘lead’, was a person in the name of Bianca Austin. She was the first daughter of Desert Emperor Lloris Austin and the First in Line to the Sandfire Throne.
The ‘Sandfire Throne’ was what the seat of the ruler of the nation of Tarse was called, named after their Sandfire Palace.
But though Princess Bianca was Lloris’ daughter, her mother was not the Desert Empress Cayenne.
Although it would earn one jail time if they ever said this out loud, Bianca was pretty much an Illegitimate child of the Emperor.
Her mother was not the Empress or any of Lloris’ many concubines.
The Region Chiefs of Tarse had been against her being counted in the line of succession because no one knew who her mother was.
Many assumed she was the child of a palace maid or so, but Empress Cayenne denied such claims. This hinted that she might be aware of Bianca’s mother’s identity, but the Empress never affirmed nor denied this.
Rathal told Evan that Bianca was a Half-Dragon—something Evan already knew from the game.
What Evan didn’t know was which dragon she was the daughter of, as well as the fact that said dragon was an Ancient-Breed.
According to Rathal, he had sensed that Bianca’s Dragon Half was an Ancient-Breed. Since Rathal was one, Evan guessed he was probably able to sense his fellow Ancient-Breed, even if they were from another race.
Evan felt It was similar to how he could instantly differentiate ‘Elves’ and ‘High-Elves’ at a glance without needing to use Appraisal.
Rathal informed him that the Dragons of Dragondune held Bianca in high regard, with many High and even Elder dragons treating her with a great amount of respect.
Because of this, he guessed her Dragon parent was fairly high in Dragondune’s Hierarchy—high enough to know where the Master of Dragondune was.
Dragondune was to Tarse, what Cheverton was to the GWE. Located in the White Sand Desert, it was the home to the millions of Dragons and Dragon subspecies that lived in Tarse.
It was also the largest gathering of Dragons on the planet, both in area and population.
If they wanted to discover the Master of Dragondune before the Demonic Hand did, then Bianca was their number one lead. Rathal’s presence on the Train with Evan was because he had tracked the tomboy Princess down to Rigburn and was planning to get off at the next station.
The Transcendent did frown and grumble about how difficult she was to deal with though.
Rathal had initially befriended Bianca with ulterior motives, but despite seeing through his intentions, Bianca hadn’t cared. Instead, she had actively made efforts to get close to him, her enigmatic nature pulling them into an unexpected friendship.
Now, even long after Rathal had obtained the information he needed, their friendship endured. Reflecting on the lengthy process it took to gather that information, he couldn’t help but sigh at the thought of potentially facing such an ordeal again.
After his business with Bianca, Rathal was to leave the Alpha continent and return to where he had been ever since the ‘Lizard Lord’s Outbreak’ last year—the Dwarven Kingdom of Stonehammer.
That was the Beta Continental nation ruled by the ‘Smith King’ Vulwin, one of Aidos’s five Transcendents.
Rathal had only returned to the Alpha Continent earlier this month due to the increased urgency of the need to locate the Master of Dragondune.
He and Evan discussed a few more things, and by the time they were done, the train had arrived at the station, so he took his leave after congratulating Evan on his recent engagement.
With his meeting with Rathal done, Evan returned to his suite where he spent the rest of the time until their Train reached their final destination, the Capital of Tarse—Saharion.

Year 1054
Isobel stood tall amidst the serene expanse of her private estate’s outdoor training grounds, her lightly tanned skin glowing softly under the setting sun.
Her sky-blue eyes, with their striking yellow cat-eye pupils, gleamed with intensity as she completed her evening training routine.
Dusky blonde streaks accentuated her dark brown hair, which was pulled back in a practical style to keep it from her face. Her body, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of muscle, spoke of strength honed through years of discipline.
As she sheathed her scimitar, Isobel suddenly sensed a distortion in the air. The ambient magic power seemed to ripple unnaturally, and without hesitation, she unsheathed her blade once more.
Spinning around, she delivered an aura-filled slash at the source of the disturbance. The sheer force of her attack cracked the ground beneath her feet, sending shockwaves and billowing clouds of dust in all directions.
When the dust settled, it revealed a familiar figure—a boy, standing with his bare hands holding up her blade.
“Woman, are you trying to kill me?
…
Oh, wait. You are.”
The realisation hit him and a wry smile played on his lips.
“I literally just spawned in the middle of your house. It’d be stranger if you didn’t go for the kill.”
He pushed her sword back with a casual strength that belied his appearance and then jumped back, creating a safe distance between them. As the realization of his identity dawned on her, Isobel’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Evan Eris?”
She questioned, her voice filled with a mix of disbelief and curiosity. The person standing before her was one she, as well as everyone else, thought was currently in the Utrarian Republic.
“In the flesh.
Good evening, ‘Warlord’ Salib.”
Evan bowed as he greeted the woman, one of Tarse’s Warlords—existences comparable with the Ten Great Swordsmen and Seven Star Generals of the GWE and GEE respectively.
“How did you get inside my house?”
Rather than Evan’s presence in Tarse, she was more concerned with how he had managed to evade all her security and get that close to her before she finally noticed him.
“Trade Secret. I have my means of getting to places and anti-teleportation barriers are kinda useless.”
Isobel instinctively wanted to deny the existence of such a powerful teleportation ability, but she stopped herself a second before that.
‘This is Evan Eris…don’t judge him with common sense.’
“As much as I’d love for us to have a nice conversation, I’m kind of pressed for time, so can I get straight to the point?”
“…”
The woman silently sheathed her scimitar and crossed her arms in front of her chest, signalling for him to continue.
“I need to meet with Emperor Lloris…in secret.”
“You want me to arrange a meeting? Why should I do that?”
When Isobel asked this, Evan just shrugged and replied with a line that she certainly could not ignore.
“If you don’t wanna, that’s fine. It’s not like my country’s citizens will be the ones dying in the next 10 days.”
“…I beg your pardon?”
“Oh, you heard me loud and clear. You wanna take the chance to find out how true my words are?”
“…”
Isobel went silent in the face of Evan’s question.
She remembered a past conversation she had with Malaya Thancreed, the Beast Kings’s Fourth daughter and the Princess had mentioned that Evan had hinted at the Lacertilia incident over a year before it happened.
Now, here Evan was, seeking a secret meeting with the Emperor and talking about ‘Tarse Citizens dying in 10 days.’
She clicked her tongue internally, before turning around and heading towards the Training Hall exit.
“Let’s go.”
“Glad to see you’re an understanding person.”
Evan smiled as he followed her, his happiness evident. He hadn’t expected her to agree so quickly and had come prepared to persuade her, but he was grateful that things had gone so smoothly.
