Chapter 800 - 800: Shadows of Dragondune
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
The unlikely duo of Evan and Isobel found themselves in the Sandfire Palace within 30 minutes. Isobel was like an all-access key to every door, so they had no stops or issues on the way.
The moment Evan stepped into the palace; he had noticed something that made him freeze in his tracks.
Isobel turned around with a raised brow, wondering why the boy had stopped walking but Evan just shook his head and chuckled lightly.
“To think one of us was here…”
The Countries where the members of the Seven Heroes Originated from were the same, both in the game and in reality.
GWE, Beast Kingdom, Tarse, Elven Empire, Draidan, Holy Empire.
For the three Alpha Continental countries on that list, Evan and Laurene were from the GWE, and David was from the Beast Kingdom.
However, the Hero from Tarse had not yet been discovered.
But right now, Evan had gained a hint of their identity after stepping into the Sandfire Palace.
‘Whoever they are, they were in this Castle less than an hour ago.’
Evan was sure of this as he could sense residual traces of a Hero Authority filling the area, and the reason he chuckled was because of how funny he found the fact that he had missed his fellow Hero by an hour.
‘Doesn’t matter, I’m not looking for them yet. I’d go after them when it’s time to deal with the Demonic Hand.’
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Lead the way, please.”
Isobel did not believe for a second that it was ‘Nothing’, but she understood that Evan wasn’t going to talk so she just kept moving forward.
They passed busy officials and diplomats rushing around, acknowledging their greetings with a nod as they passed.
For reference, Evan had changed his facial appearance using Kayla’s Body Transformation skill, so the boy looked nothing like his normal self.
‘I wonder if he’d meet me with his real body or a Clone?’
Lloris Austin was a skilled Clone user and was known for using his Clones to attend official gatherings across the continent.
It was rumoured that the man was ill and used his clones because he could not move around, while some other rumours said that Lloris was not even in the Sandfire Palace, but the Tarse Imperial Family denied these claims.
What was true, was that Lloris’ real body was a rare sight, even for his children.
Evan thought this as they headed to the Emperor’s Palace.
He looked around and noticed that despite it being late evening, most of the civil servants working here were still present.
“You guys seem busy.”
“We have International guests.”
“Oh, what Nation?”
Evan only asked to sate his curiosity, and the answer he received made him freeze for a split second.
“Terrok.”
“…Terrok, you say?”
“Yes. President Damir came in person to discuss some new policies.”
Because she was walking in front of Evan, Isobel did not notice how much his expression contorted after her words.
“Is President Damir currently speaking with the Emperor?”
“Hmm? Come to think of it, he might.”
Isobel felt Evan’s concern was reasonable, as it would be bad if she were to interrupt a meeting between the two National Leaders.
She stopped some diplomats who were heading towards the restrooms and asked if there were any ongoing meetings involving the Emperor which they confirmed.
“Isobel, can you please inform the Emperor of my desire to meet him after he’s done with his meeting? To be specific, only mention it after President Damir has left the Castle.”
Isobel knew Evan didn’t want anyone finding out he was in Tarse. He wouldn’t sneak into her house and ask for a secret meeting with the Emperor if that wasn’t the case.
Currently, Evan was influential enough to formally request a meeting from Emperor Lloris and his request was sure to be answered positively.
‘But he did not.’
Isobel could only imagine what Evan wanted to discuss with the Emperor and why he didn’t want anyone to find out he was present.
“I’d be somewhere in the capital, please contact me using this when the Emperor is free.”
Evan gave Isobel a portable communicator as he spoke, quickly turning around to leave. However, Isobel held him back.
“Hold on a second. I can check if any of his Clones is free and you can speak with one of them.”
This was a very viable alternative, but Evan shook his head and rejected this.
“I’d very much like the Emperor’s 100% attention due to the gravity of the matter I want to bring up with him.”
Giving this as an excuse for not wanting to talk to a Clone, Evan quickly left the Sandfire Palace, leaving behind a very confused yet suspicious Isobel.
“It’s a good thing I asked. All my plans would have gone down the drain if I hadn’t.”
Evan thought that to himself as he released his Body Transformation, before pulling up his hood and blending into the sea of people busily moving around on the streets of Saharion.

Year 1054
While Evan was in Saharion, Rathal stood with a difficult expression on his face, opposite a black-haired woman who was looking at him with suspicious eyes.
“Are you…stalking me?”
“OF COURSE NOT!”
Rathal snapped back a reply, wondering where this young woman even got that idea from. When he saw her amused expression, he instantly realised that she hadn’t really thought he was a stalker and only said it to mess with him.
He facepalmed and shook his head as he thought this, before raising his eyes to face the person before him.
The young woman was tall, her black hair tied into a right-side ponytail using a gold-coloured crown-shaped hair accessory with the crest of the Tarse Imperial Family on it. She was wearing a simple set of black jeans and a brown oversized shirt under a long-sleeved jacket and boots.
Her dark-brown eyes held an amused glint as she looked at Rathal and the man quickly spoke up to prevent her from spouting any crazier stuff.
The topic he chose was one that was sure to attract her attention—her current power level.
“I left Alpha for a year and you went and turned into a different person. I bet even Kolvar’s boy would struggle against you.”
As he expected, the young woman—Bianca Austin—had her interest piqued and she forgot about what she initially wanted to say.
“David Thancreed? Seems I’m not lagging.”
A smile appeared on her face as she spoke, but it quickly disappeared a moment before she asked Rathal about someone else.
“What about Evan Eris?”
She expected a quick response, but Rathal suddenly burst out laughing and she just blinked at him repeatedly with surprise.
“You against Evan, huh? If he doesn’t use that Destruction Skill of his, or those flames, then you wouldn’t lose…”
Before Bianca’s expression could fully light up, Rathal continued his words, pouring cold water on her burning joy.
“…you’d die.”
“…”
Bianca’s expression fell at Rathal’s words. He’d just told her that even if Evan held back from using his two most powerful skills, she’d still be unable to win, so it was only natural she wasn’t pleased.
“That’s one hell of a confidence downer…”
“That’s the accurate truth. Evan’s base strength is high, and he has a lot of skills and titles that increase his power on a percentage basis.
Let’s not talk about his abilities which ignore durability. You don’t want to buy a fight with him.”
Rathal walked past her as he spoke and Bianca sighed before turning around and following him.
The two of them were alone in the middle of this deserted area, at the top of the dune from where they could overlook an ancient ruined city in the distance.
“So, what’s the reason you followed me all the way here? Last time you came to find me because you wanted to figure out my powers, what’s it this time?”
Bianca quickly put the previous conversation behind her as she spoke, but Evan was still a thought in her mind.
“Did you figure out what Evan Eris’ powers are?”
“I may have a guess, but it’s not confirmed.
He has too many things blocking my Analysis skill—his Destruction essence, goddess Artemisia’s divinity—so my skill doesn’t work properly on him.”
“goddess Artemisia, huh? Seems the rumours of his connection with her are true.
It makes sense how he’s able to move the Holy Kingdom as he wishes.”
The Desert Princess spoke of the incident in Blealand earlier in the year where Evan had raided some Demonic Hand bases using the Holy Kingdom’s Paladins.
“Anyway, what did you come for again?”
To Bianca’s question, Rathal didn’t beat around the bush and got straight to the point.
“I came to ask you for information on Rizass’ location.”
“…”
Rizass.
That was the first name of the Master of Dragondune, and the only name of theirs that people knew of.
No one even knew what gender they were, as their only public appearances were in their dragon form, and it was pretty difficult to tell male and female dragons apart in that state.
Bianca knew why Rathal would ask her for information about their location, given the fact that she wasn’t exactly hiding that she was a Half-Ancient-Breed dragon, nor was she hiding her connections to Dragondune.
“Unfortunately, I cannot help you with that. They’ve not been around for a while now.”
The young woman responded with a shrug of her shoulders, all while she observed Rathal’s expression.
‘He looks pretty serious about this…’
Rathal was also observing her, trying to see if she was messing with him or something but he didn’t detect any trace of that from her body language.
“I can take a message if you want.”
When Bianca suggested this, Rathal twisted his lips in light displeasure. The man had gone to Dragondune himself and he had not sensed the near-transcendent presence of the Master of Dragondune, hence why he was even asking Bianca in the first place.
“It would have been best to say this in person, but I can’t stick around for too long since I have to return to Stonehammer.”
Taking a deep breath, Rathal spoke with a solemn voice.
“When next you see Rizass, tell them that the ‘Strongest Entity’ in the ‘Demonic Hand’ is after them and they should do their very best to avoid them.”
Bianca wanted to speak, but Rathal held up his hand to stop her and continued.
“Warn them not to let their Dragon Pride get in their way of thinking and say something stupid like it’s cowardly to run away, this is no joke.
You should be aware of the Demon who showed up in Lacertilia last year; that was a Peak Ranked Demon and the Second Finger’s Contractor.
A Demon that attains Peak Rank Status as a Sovereign is far more dangerous than some Transcendent Peak Ranked Demons out there.
The Second Finger themselves are stronger than even Hydran Iremith.
Rizass CANNOT defeat them.”
