When Evan regained consciousness, he saw himself in the middle of a large office, with a desk and couch to the side where the person responsible for knocking him unconscious lounged with a portable game console in his hands.

‘Where…am I?’

Evan’s memories were fuzzy, a delayed side effect of the time travel he just experienced. But slowly, the events of the past few hours started coming back to him.

‘I was fighting Faulin, then Conroe came back to life for some fucking reason…

Then…? Yeah, I fought Conroe, but I couldn’t stop Faulin from becoming a Deity…’

After a few moments, the rest of his memories arranged themselves properly.

‘Artemisia beat Faulin, then some bullshit happened and Artemisia got restrained by causality, then Conroe suddenly pulled out spatiotemporal magic and I got sent to the past…’

Remembering up to that point, Evan was hit with a migraine as the dizzying memories of his blast from the future came back, and then, he recalled what happened after.

‘EOTD’s connection vanished…then I landed in some abandoned playground and…got caught?!’

The moment he recalled that, the silver-haired boy in front of him noticed he was awake and spoke.

“Hey, you’re finally awake.”

As he said that, he tossed the console he was playing with into the air, but gravity never claimed down. It just hung mid-air, paused in time while he walked forward and sat on a chair that materialized out of thin air.

‘I’m not restrained?’

For a moment, Evan was confused as to why they didn’t restrain him, then he remembered that there were two Transcendents within 10 feet of him.

‘Yeah, they don’t need to restrain me.

As for my mask… it’s still on? Did they take it off and then put it back on? Or did they not touch it?’

Evan thought this as his pupils darted around, and he tried to gauge the levels of the others, but besides Artemisia and the other girl, he couldn’t sense the others.

Meaning they were all higher than he was.

‘Damn, I’m really in the past, aren’t I?’

The reality sunk in once more as he took in the figures who were before him.

Alvey Sargon, McEnda III and Sigesi Valren.

Three existences who were either dead or missing in the time that he came from and here they were before him.

The most dissonant of them all was Artemisia. Evan was so used to an adult Artemisia that the teenage version of her he was seeing just felt…wrong?

‘Is she helping Alvey and McEnda with paperwork? A goddess helping a Peak-Rank Demon with paperwork? What sort of surreal scene is this…?’

Besides, Evan was pretty sure that the future Artemisia did not want her past self to know he was from the future, but the way things were, Evan doubted he’d be able to prevent that from happening.

Little did he know that in the future, EOTD had already told Artemisia that even if she warned him, it wouldn’t be worth much.

The reason was simple; his meeting with Artemisia was set in stone, so regardless of whatever Evan had done, he would have ended up meeting these six before him.

He glanced at the other goddess who was nearby and just then, the silver-haired boy who was sitting facing him called out with a concerned expression.

“Hello? You there?”

“…”

Evan had been trying to ignore the presence of this Irregular who made his Danger Sense skill blare alarms even now, but that clearly wasn’t possible.

“Did he go unconscious with his eyes open or something?”

Staying silent wasn’t going to help his already precarious situation, so Evan just sighed softly before replying.

“…I’m very much conscious.”

“Oh, I was worried since you weren’t responding.”

After that reply, the silver-haired boy pulled out a bottle of grape wine from what looked like an Inventory, poured some into two glasses and handed one over to Evan.

He took a sip before setting down the glass and speaking.

“So, our visitor from somewhere else in time and space. Welcome to Hell.”

“Hell?!”

Evan reflexively exclaimed and the boy just laughed before revealing the truth.

“Nahh…you’re just on a normal Prime World. By the way, I’m Arthur.”

Hearing the name, Evan recalled that Alvey and McEnda III had indeed called him that earlier. After introducing himself, Arthur proceeded to introduce the names of the others in the room, not knowing Evan pretty much knew who they were except for the white-haired goddess.

Pointing at Alvey he spoke.

“The serious-looking dude over there is Alvey, while the goofy-looking one beside him is McEnda.”

“Oy, Arthur!”

McEnda seemed to take offence with Arthur’s introduction of him, but the silver-haired boy just laughed before moving on to the next.

“The stoic lady next to them is Sigesi, McEnda’s wife.”

“?”

Evan was mildly surprised at the revelation that they were already married as at whatever time period this was, but McEnda quickly refuted Arthur’s statement.

“We aren’t married yet, Arthur.”

“It’s only a matter of time.”

Arthur just waved him off with such a response, before moving on to the two goddesses present.

“The smart-looking one is Artemisia while the dumb-looking one is Beatrix.”

Naturally, the one he called ‘dumb looking’ took serious offence with Arthur’s statement.

“Arthur, my fist is itching to punch something and there’s this magnetic force attracting it to your face.”

However, Arthur just turned to her with a smirk before asking.

“You wanna try your luck? I assure you, it would NOT end well for you.”

“…”

Beatrix went silent when she heard those words and Evan could clearly see why. He didn’t know why he couldn’t sense Arthur’s Existence Level anymore, but he remembered sensing Superior Legendary Level power from him earlier.

This Beatrix girl only appeared to be an Intermediate Epic at best, so unless Arthur just stood there and let her hit him, her fist would never touch him.

“Alright, that’s enough for everyone else.”

As Arthur said that, he turned back to face Evan while Beatrix pulled a chair closer and sat beside Arthur. She leaned forward and stared at Evan with a shiny gaze that made him a bit uncomfortable before asking.

“What’s your name?”

Even though he’d already met Artemisia, Evan wanted to at least try to salvage the situation. He thought about it for a second and picked a half of his middle name which barely anyone knew and responded with it.

“…Dante.”

Technically, he wasn’t lying. His middle name was ‘Vondante’, after all.

However, when he spoke, Arthur and Beatrix gave him confused gazes in response. Evan had a bad feeling about this and just as he was about to question why they reacted strangely, Arthur spoke.

“No, it’s not.”

“What?”

“Dante. That’s not your name. It’s ‘Evan’.”

Evan didn’t even bother acting surprised at this point. Beatrix spoke up right after Arthur with a light sigh.

“You took ‘too long’ to answer such a simple question, so it’s obvious that was a fake name.”

Following her words, McEnda who was sitting on the couch behind Arthur spoke without even looking at them.

“Besides, we can clearly see it on your status board.”

The moment McEnda said that, Alvey, Sigesi and Artemisia simultaneously facepalmed and sighed heavily.

“Why are these three…”

Artemisia sounded exasperated, and Alvey just looked at McEnda with a gaze that asked ‘Why?’.

It went without saying that Arthur, Beatrix and McEnda were confused by these reactions, and Alvey did them the favour of explaining before they could even ask.

“Did the three of you not think that the fact that he’s wearing a mask covering half his face and gave you a fake name, means he’s trying to hide his identity?”

“…”

Alvey’s question was followed up by Artemisia, who gave Arthur and Beatrix a deadpan gaze as she spoke.

“For all we know, he may be from the future or something and there may be complications that’d arise if we from his ‘past’ get to know certain things about him.”

The goddess’ logic was sound, and the other three had no choice but to admit it. Silently, Arthur, Beatrix and McEnda gazed at each other, and in the next moment, Beatrix turned towards Evan with a sweet smile and spoke.

“So, Dante…”

“There’s no point using the fake name now, Beatrix.”

Artemisia cut her off before she could even say anything further, shaking her head while muttering something unintelligible under her breath. If Evan had to guess, she was probably insulting someone.

Sigesi, who had been silent, looked up from her paperwork and at Arthur as she asked.

“You comprehend the law of time and you didn’t think of this?”

“…”

Arthur had no words to refute her as this had indeed skipped his mind.

Evan just glanced at Artemisia briefly, thinking she was the same as ever and Arthur noticed this in his peripheral vision.

‘Even though she’s not focusing on him, he’s glanced at Artemisia and Alvey multiple times now.

There’s also the fact that he has a layer of divinity on him, the blessing of a god. Wherever he’s from…he may know Artemisia and Alvey there…’

Within mere seconds, Arthur had already begun deducing things about where Evan had come from. What’s more, he was capable of detecting the divinity on Evan.

It should be noted that only Divinity wielders could detect this on a normal basis. Now, NO ONE was supposed to be able to detect it as future Artemisia had concealed it.

Evan didn’t know this, but when Artemisia was speaking to him when he was in the spatial tunnel, Artemisia had used her connection with the system to hide her divinity on Evan.

If she didn’t do that, then her past self would have instantly detected it at a glance. She wouldn’t mistake her own power, after all.

Future Artemisia’s concealment prevented the Transcendents in the room from noticing the divinity, and even the teenage Artemisia couldn’t sense it.

But somehow, Arthur could easily see the divinity, and from the way he glanced at Artemisia right after noticing it, he’d already started connecting the dots!

While Arthur was deep in his thoughts, Sigesi turned towards Evan and informed him about how they had easily seen through his little attempt at hiding his identity.

“Whatever method you used to conceal your status isn’t as good as that skill you used to conceal your presence earlier.

If you used that, then maybe these three would not have been able to see through you with a simple appraisal.”

She arranged the files she was working on into a stack and placed them in Alvey’s drawer before continuing.

“Unfortunately for you, your status concealment was not as good, and given we’re all at a higher level than you are, it stands to reason we can see through it.

Besides, we can all infuse Universal Law energy into our eyes so as far as your status wasn’t concealed with the law of Concealment itself…anyone Legendary and above can see through it.”

Evan was a tad bit surprised at this talk of Universal Law energy, as he didn’t know that this thing could bypass his status concealment.

“May I ask what this ‘Universal Law’ thing you mentioned is?”

“…?”

When he asked that question, everyone, including Alvey who was busy with his paperwork, snapped their heads in his direction with dumbfounded gazes.

It was as if he just asked the most obvious question in the world, like ‘Why is the Sun hot?’
