Chapter 900 - 900: The ‘Last Forsaken Divine’ II

Evan swung his blade in a downward arc, and Rezaemon, confident in his assessment that this was the real one, activated one of his strongest Earth skills, fortifying his sword to meet the blow.
He remained unconcerned about the Evan at his back, convinced it was a mere illusion.
And that was precisely why he faltered as his instincts screamed at him, about a sudden surge of danger coming from behind.
But it was too late.
A surge of magic flared up from the supposed fake behind him, and a spiralling torrent of flames erupted, slamming into his back and launching him forward.
The real Evan before him finally activated Blessing of Destruction and swung his blade, coated in destructive essence, carving a searing slash across Rezaemon’s chest.
The two simultaneous attacks caught him in a vicious crossfire, battering him between burning flames and a blade fuelled by pure destruction.
Artemisia and Beatrix seized the moment to combo Rezaemon. Artemisia unleashed Benevolent Lightning, while Beatrix activated Spatial Crush, and the two attacks merged, pouring power onto Rezaemon in a destructive synergy.
Blood sprayed into the air, and Rezaemon’s flesh shredded from the combined assault. But, like the other Forsaken Divines, his body began its grotesque regeneration—skin swelling and twisting in grotesque masses.
Rezaemon’s expression darkened; he loathed the twisted deformities common among the others, and now his fury ignited, the rage twisting his face.
Intending to unleash retribution, Rezaemon roared and a 4 ringed magic circle expanded above his head.
He summoned a pillar of blazing light from above, and as the light began its descent, an idea flashed in Evan’s mind.
‘Normal Light can be reflected by Normal Mirrors. If so, can’t Magical Light be reflected by Magical Mirrors?’
Acting on those thoughts, he summoned Stout Guardian, calling forth the shield-bearing knight construct of energy.
As it raised its shield, Evan coated the surface with Harbinger of Ice, transforming it into a vast, gleaming mirror.
The searing beam struck the mirror, which trembled under the impact but successfully deflected the light in another direction. The shield cracked, and the knight staggered, but the reflected light was diverted just enough.
Artemisia took advantage, activating her Tempest Avatar and the lightning-wreathed humanoid threw a punch, launching Rezaemon back into the path of the deflected light beam.
As Rezaemon’s body was struck by his own redirected energy, Artemisia summoned lightning from above, a bolt streaking down in harmony with Evan’s Vindiction’s Strike, boosted by Adamantine Might.
The two attacks collided, erupting in an explosion that shook the ground.
Evan broke through the blast, his sword flashing as he used Stoneheart’s Embrace, petrifying a part of Rezaemon’s body upon contact.
He immediately stomped on the solidified section, intending to use Collapse on him, but Rezaemon, sensing the threat, retaliated.
His arm, still burning in prismatic flames, grabbed Evan by the leg and hurled him across the chamber.
Evan hurtled through the air, but Beatrix extended her spatial powers, catching him mid-flight and setting him gently back on the ground.
The two exchanged a quick nod, ready to continue the battle and Rezaemon, though battered and breathing heavily, stood back up, his eyes blazing with fury as his flesh regenerated—albeit slower than before due to Evan’s Destruction Essence.
Before they could charge forward again, Rezaemon unleashed a torrent of omnidirectional light beams, each laced with powerful divinity.
The surge forced Evan, Beatrix, and Artemisia to retreat, narrowly evading the blasts.
As they regrouped, a hint of confusion crossed Artemisia’s face. She had questions.
“Evan, can you actually clone yourself?”
She, like Rezaemon, had also thought they were all Illusions.
Evan had been using holograms this whole time to make Rezaemon drop his guard, and when he used a real one, the Forsaken Divine was caught off-guard.
As the wielder of the Stage 4 Mystic Eye of Mimicry, Evan could indeed mimic himself—though imperfectly, it was enough to deceive this Forsaken Divine before him, and he had used this to his advantage in the heat of battle.
Evan nodded just as Beatrix activated her time powers, slowing Rezaemon’s movements while also hastening theirs as they charged forward.
Despite this, Rezaemon’s speed was still alarming, moving faster than they could comfortably track.
It was for this reason they had bombarded him with attacks earlier, to prevent him from making use of that speed.
“Stay sharp!”
Beatrix called out, spinning her spear as she drew a Time Magic circle in the air and launched a beam of temporal energy towards Rezaemon, but the Forsaken Divine dodged.
She poured more of her energy into their time acceleration, narrowing her eyes as she strained to keep Rezaemon’s movements in check. But it felt like trying to halt a relentless hurricane.
Rezaemon darted toward her, his great sword a blinding arc of light as he swung it downward with terrifying force.
But just when he’d thought he could cleave the girl in two, his sword phased through her harmlessly, and in that short moment, Evan suddenly appeared, flames flickering around him.
“Self Immolation!”
Evan transformed himself into a human torch of orange flames, thrust his blade forward and used a combo of Adamantine Might and Pierce Guard.
His blade pierced through Rezaemon’s defences, bursting out from the other end of his shoulder and Evan clicked his tongue.
The Forsaken Divine had moved, so Evan missed his real target which was Rezaemon’s heart.
He spun around and threw a flaming kick aimed at the Forsaken Divine, but Rezaemon pulled back his blade and raised it to block Evan’s kick.
Behind him, Beatrix teleported away, dropping to her knees and breathing heavily as the technique that made her body phase had drained her physical stamina.
Still, she didn’t let herself falter, she had to support Evan and Artemisia.
Evan unleashed a Vindiction’s Strike and she created a wormhole in front of it, making the attack emerge from behind Rezaemon and just as the Forsaken Divine turned to block, Artemisia flashed in and swung her dual blades.
Her swords cut into the Forsaken Divine’s back, but they only dealt glancing wounds.
However, dealing damage was not her aim—she only used the blades as a conduit for her Forced Devolution, targeting Rezaemon’s durability this time.
Immediately, Beatrix warped her out just before Rezaemon could grab her with his large hands, and Artemisia kicked off the ground and dashed forward to aid Evan who was clashing with the Forsaken Divine.
She activated Tempest Avatar, summoning the construct with a halberd and swinging it in a wide horizontal slash.
Rezaemon tried to dodge, but Beatrix activated her Unique Skill, freezing Rezaemon in time for a fleeting moment, locking him in place for two precious seconds.
But those two seconds were enough for Artemisia’s attack to reach and tear into the man’s shoulder, ripping through his stone skin.
Rezaemon broke free of the time stasis and his body was sent hurtling through the air. But he stabbed his great sword into the ground and unleashed a shockwave of Earth Magic that shattered the ground beneath them.
“Shockwave Spear!”
Giant spikes of rock erupted from the floor, forcing the trio to scatter. Artemisia somersaulted over the jagged rocks, her Tempest Avatar flashing behind her.
‘He’s healing too fast…!’
As she thought that, Evan waved his hand and summoned glowing chains of energy from the ground, wrapping Rezaemon’s limbs and sword to restrict his movement.
The chains pulsed with destruction essence and flames, burning Rezaemon’s skin as the Forsaken Divine roared, his muscles bulging as he struggled against the chains.
The ground trembled as the Forsaken Divine began to overpower the restraints, cracks forming along the chains. But before he could fully break out, Beatrix used spatial magic and launched a flurry of Space-Time Partial Blades at him.
These blades skipped through time and space, ignoring the time needed to reach the target and the distance needed to cross and directly arrive at the targeted spots.
Rezaemon covered his skin with earth magic and magical light, blocking most of the attacks, but the few that landed only served to enrage him further.
“Klątwa Umysłu! Lekarstwo Krwi!
Klątwa Płomienia! Klątwa Nierównowagi! Klątwa Ognia!”
Rezaemon infused his tongue with powerful divinity and spat out a string of words in a language neither of the teenagers knew.
“What the fuck is he saying?!”
“He’s cursing us, that’s what!”
Evan screamed back at Beatrix and as if on command, a dark malignant power surged towards all three of them.
“Mesarthim: Yellow!”
Evan shouted, summoning the purifying flames around him as he dashed forward, his flames burning through the curses that Rezaemon hurled at them.
“Mesarthim; Orange: Burned Ally! Yellow: Purge!”
Sending his flames to Artemisia and Beatrix to protect them from the powerful curses, he charged at Rezaemon who snarled and broke free of the Everlasting Chains with a violent burst of light.
He raised his great sword, the blade glowing with divinity, and brought it crashing down toward Evan, but the boy teleported just in time to avoid it, reappearing behind Rezaemon.
But Rezaemon was already turning before Evan could attack, his speed incredible even in the slowed time. His sword lashed out with a backhanded swing, forcing Evan to teleport away again.
“Arty!”
Beatrix called out, freezing Rezaemon in time for another three seconds and Artemisia responded to her best friend’s call She swung her dual blades as she charged in and her Tempest Avatar mirrored her movements.
Rezaemon broke free just as she struck, but not fast enough to block completely as Artemisia’s swords bit into his armour, tearing through the layers of light and earth magic. The Tempest Avatar’s blades crashed down with explosive force, sending Rezaemon staggering backwards.
“Nice hit!”
Evan cheered as he launched himself forward, flames flaring around him. He swung his sword, the blade glowing with his Elemental Destruction Fusion as he aimed for Rezaemon’s chest, but just before the blow could land, Rezaemon’s light magic exploded outward, throwing Evan and Artemisia back.
Even as they were blown away, Evan flipped around mid-air and landed on a void step, holding out his left fist and clenching it.
“Gravilife Convergence.”
A gravitational well pulled Rezaemon backwards and the ground beneath him cracked open and the giant earthen fist manifested, grabbing his body and clamping shut.
“Withered!”
