Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 906 - 906: Reason for Mysterious Disappearances

Scout Command Ship #24 Deck

Demon Navy Armada

Chatane Ocean

May 10th

531st Divine Year

Evan left the cabin prepared for him with a yawn, walking up to the ship’s deck where he saw Arthur toss a phone-like device into his subspace.

“Wassup?”

“Alvey said we got hit on the West side. Four Fleets are down.”

The sudden news shocked the last dredges of sleep from Evan’s eyes. His brow raised in surprise, and he posed another question.

“Aramisians?”

“We don’t know yet.”

“Damn…that makes it worse.”

Evan pulled a chair from his subspace and casually settled down, not far from Arthur. He leaned forward, resting his arms on his knees as he gazed over the railing, watching the endless ocean waves rolling beneath the ship.

It was then that Arthur broke the short silence with his words.

“Whatever it is, it better have enough EXP to take me to the Superior Stage.”

“Me too. Just that my ‘Superior Stage’ is of the Epic Realm.”

“If it can take me to the Superior Stage, it can definitely do the same for you. It’s just that you may not be able to fight it…”

Evan glanced at Arthur and appraised him at that moment, seeing that his current level was 768. He, on the other hand, was 605.

Anything that could take Arthur above Level 770, was surely gonna be able to take Evan past Level 630, however, such a creature would probably be around Level 700+.

That was around the same level as Margaux whom Evan had fought over a month ago.

‘I did level up a bit from killing Rezaemon, but it’s not enough to defeat a Legendary.’

“Then it better have some little subordinates I can kill to get to Level 630.”

“That’s very possible. I find it hard to believe we’re up against 1 thing.”

Arthur’s words had Evan questioning the reason for his belief and in response, the godslayer gestured to the ships around them as he explained.

“There are 20 Ships with multiple Legendries and a few Sovereigns on them.

The amount of power 1 entity needs to wipe all of this out in a short time is enough that the Transcendents back on the Triton’s Ark would surely sense something off before they attack.

That’s why I think it’s not just 1 entity, but a group of maybe Legendries and Sovereigns as well, with a Leader who’s probably a Sovereign as well.

They have lower power levels and would be able to hide from the Transcendents who are hundreds of kilometres away from us.”

“I see…”

Evan nodded in understanding as he thought of it.

Yedrist of Chatane was the Leviathan who ruled this ocean. But Yedrist was dead.

To rule such a vast ocean and make sure no one trespassed, Yedrist’s power must have either surpassed Transcendence, or he must have had millions of subordinates.

It was clearly not the former since Alvey had killed him, so the latter was the case.

Though Alvey killed Yedrist, the man didn’t say anything about the army of sea monsters, so Evan guessed this was probably Yedrist’s sea monster subordinates taking Revenge.

‘They could also alert the Aramisians as well…’

Such thoughts crossed Evan’s mind as he got up and watched a school of predatory fish swarm a baby shark and bite it to death.

“Here I am, helping Gozonians attack another world…”

Hearing his mutter, Arthur who had gone silent spoke up.

“You’re still hung up on that? Just think of it as a power levelling trip and you’d be fine.”

The silver-haired boy got to his feet and patted Evan’s back before continuing.

“But I gotta say, you went over 25 Levels in just 3 weeks. Your levelling speed is really fast.”

“I do Level Up faster than normal.”

As he responded, Evan opened his status and scanned through it, starting from his Level down to his stats and skills.

To simplify his status, Evan had collapsed his Title Tab, concealing most of his titles. Their effects were still active, but they were no longer displayed, streamlining his view.

As he skimmed through his status screen, thinking of what else he could collapse to make his status less wordy in his eyes, Arthur posed a question about the two goddesses Evan had recently ventured into the Forbidden Outlands with.

With the Gozonian Demons gathering in Militopolis to prepare for the assault on Plomux, it was obvious the goddesses couldn’t stay.

Arthur, who was responsible for their presence on Aramis, had been deep in Law Comprehension at the time, so the two had returned to Northern Gledea shortly after they left Resgar City.

Defeating Rezaemon had granted the two girls quite a bit of levels, bringing them to the Superior Stage of the Epic Level. It was hardly an issue to progress, especially for Artemisia to whom levelling walls were pretty much non-existent.

Arthur, who had made Artemisia remain on Aramis because of her Evolution powers which he desired to study, wanted to see if there were any new changes from her latest strength boost. He sent the two a message asking them to join him and Evan on Plomux.

As they continued their conversation, the waves around them suddenly began stirring. At first, it was barely noticeable, but when Arthur’s brow arched, Evan picked up on his reaction immediately.

“What is it?”

“Something just entered my spatial perception.”

Arthur comprehended the Law of Space, and due to his nature as a Sub-Cosmic being, his spatial perception was enhanced by Cosmic energy, giving him a range on par with Peak Sovereign Level Existences.

This allowed him to detect any approaching presence before it could register on the ship’s sensors.

“The space is bending…?! We’re dealing with a gravity manipulator!”

Arthur’s voice boomed across the deck, sending shockwaves through the ranks of nearby demons who turned in alarm.

But before they could even react, the ocean waves surged and crashed onto the ship, shaking it dangerously and causing more than half the demons on the deck to lose their balance and fall.

Then, at the fleet’s centre, the sea itself began to twist. The waters spiralled into a massive whirlpool that dragged all the ships toward it.

The oppressive force of gravitational law energy blanketed the area, suffocatingly dense. No one needed to be a master of gravity to feel the threat—their ships were seconds away from being crushed to splinters if they were pulled into that whirlpool.

Rather than panic, the majority of the demons responded level-headedly.

Some fought against the pull of the whirlpool, steering the ships with desperate manoeuvres, while others unleashed bursts of law energy, trying to disrupt the powerful gravity well enough to regain control.

A fresh wall of waves slammed into the command ship where Arthur and Evan stood, threatening to tip it over, but the Demon Naval Vessel held firm.

Without warning, the ocean directly in front of the ship burst upwards, a towering column of water surging skyward.

Emerging from the depths was something massive that blotted out a portion of the rising sun and cast a shadow across the entire ship.

Arthur’s eyes narrowed, his expression darkening as he caught sight of the existence staring down at them.

It was a giant Serpentine creature, with a body covered in sleek, obsidian-black scales shimmering ominously in the morning light.

The creature’s head was crowned with an imposing horn, and a series of jagged, spiny ridges traced down the length of its neck. Tendrils of seaweed and barnacles clung to its underbelly and along its sides.

Its eyes, a piercing sea-green, glowed with an eerie luminescence that betrayed a malevolent intelligence, as if fully aware of the chaos it was about to unleash.

Its mouth hung open just enough to reveal the rows upon rows of razor-sharp teeth that lined its mouth.

As more of the Leviathan’s colossal form became visible, it was clear that its body stretched for thousands of meters, ending in a mighty tail that whipped through the water, generating waves that rocked the entire fleet.

The sheer size and power of the beast sent a wave of terror rippling through the Low-Ranked Demons, while the Mid-Ranks glanced at each other, their expressions tense.

Alone, it wasn’t a problem for the Mid-Ranks to handle, but when added to the hundreds of presences they could sense rushing towards their ships…that’s when things became tough.

Around the Leviathan, the air shimmered and crackled with gravitational energy, warping the very fabric of space as it prepared to strike. Above, storm clouds gathered, darkening the skies, and columns of pressurized water shot into the air around the creature.

Everything that just occurred had an eerie sacredness to it. The waves that heralded its arrival, the powerful surge as it broke the ocean surface, the magnificence of its form.

Evan couldn’t help but recall a story he’d heard back on Earth-V, one that spoke of a hero whose fleet was sunk by an enraged sea god.

With a wry smile, he called out the name of that god in jest.

“Poseidon?!”
