Chapter 907 - 907: Leviathan of Chatane [Monthly Bonus 2]
“Poseidon?!”
Arthur, ever the good sport, played along with Evan.
“Uncle?!”
“…wait…what?”
His casual mention of the god’s name had been meant as a joke, but Arthur’s response made him do a double take.
Arthur turned to him, completely calm despite the chaos around them and explained.
“Poseidon’s my Uncle, didn’t I tell you?”
“…come to think of it, you did say Hades was your dad, so it makes sense that Poseidon is your uncle.”
Evan had decided not to waste brainpower trying to understand how Arthur, being a ‘godslayer’, was the child of a ‘god’, so he’d pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind. But remembering them now made Arthur’s words make sense.
For a moment, Arthur pondered how Evan, hailing from this Universe, was familiar with the names of gods from another realm quintillions of parsecs away.
However, Evan’s next words snapped him back to reality.
“This is NOT the time to talk about this, isn’t it?”
“Sure isn’t.”
“Exactly. Also, is it me or is that thing looking right at you.”
Evan’s words struck a chord, forcing Arthur to confront what he had been trying to ignore for the last minute.
Unfortunately, ignoring it did not make it go away.
“Yeah, it sure is staring right at me.”
And Arthur knew exactly why the Leviathan was.
In the moments after the Leviathan’s emergence, it had swept its gaze across the fleet, assessing the greatest threats.
Despite not being the highest-level presence among them, instinctively, it recognized that Arthur was surely the strongest.
As such, the Leviathan’s focus locked onto him and it took action to eliminate the threat.
Power surged within the Leviathan’s half-open maw, rapidly escalating to staggering levels in mere seconds.
“Oy, Alvey! Didn’t you say you killed this guy?!”
Arthur shouted, his voice tinged with urgency. Although he outwardly questioned whether they were truly face-to-face with the legendary Leviathan of the Chatane Ocean, his mind was analysing something he’d noticed about this Leviathan.
Beside him, Evan acted on pure instinct, summoning his sword into his hands as he sprinted forward.
Just before the gathered energy erupted in a cataclysmic beam, he activated two of his Unique Skills in quick succession.
‘Harbinger of Ice.’
“Vortex!”
A spiralling mass of crimson-gold ice erupted from Evan’s sword, swirling through the air to collide with the pressurized beam of water unleashed by the Leviathan. The clash distorted the very air at the point of impact, sending shockwaves rippling across the ocean’s surface.
Evan’s ice vortex overpowered the Leviathan’s breath and froze the torrent of water all the way to its maw. He poured even more energy into his attack, unleashing a final surge that sent the Leviathan’s head snapping backwards.
“Haha! It worked!”
Evan exclaimed, celebrating his apparent victory in the clash of powers.
However, his elation was fleeting.
The Leviathan’s head snapped back around, its sea-green eyes glowing, and there was a noticeable lack of damage to its body.
‘Uh-oh…I think I just hit 0 Damage…’
Contrary to his thoughts, that was not the case. He’d dealt damage, just that the Leviathan had healed faster than he could notice.
And thanks to his actions, Arthur confirmed the conjecture he’d had since the Leviathan appeared.
‘Pseudo-Authority…I’m sure of it now. It was wounded a bit by Evan’s Destruction Essence but the wounds healed in a second.’
Arthur glanced down and saw that the power that healed the wounds had come from the water around them.
Just as Arthur processed this, the Leviathan’s mouth opened once more and it wasn’t difficult to guess what was coming next.
This time, however, the power gathering within its maw was over ten times as much as before. Seeing this, Evan muttered in a low voice.
“Um…I think I may have made it pissed.”
“You think?!”
Arthur couldn’t help but retort to Evan, but the Leviathan wasn’t going to wait around and watch them.
Its first attack had been a probing strike, a test to determine if Arthur possessed any unique powers. However, with Evan blocking the breath, the creature learned the Rogue Hero wielded Destruction Essence as well.
Evan was an Epic, while the Leviathan was a Sovereign, and despite the disparity in their Existence levels, Evan’s Destruction Essence had been powerful enough to bypass a small portion of the Leviathan’s durability.
Just that Evan’s attack power couldn’t do much in the way of damage to a Sovereign’s Vitality.
What’s more, the Leviathan sensed the same Destruction power emanating from Arthur—only it was magnitudes stronger, over a hundred times more potent.
So now it acted decisively, channelling enough power to obliterate the ship and scatter more than half its occupants to smithereens.
Water sprayed out with ultra-high pressure became a weapon in itself, and it was sharper than any sword.
Depending on their existence, one could generate enough pressure to crush a mountain to pieces.
**CHUT―――!!!
The Leviathan unleashed a torrent of sea-green energy from its maw, but Arthur responded with a calm clap of his hands.
|¬Alright everyone, Stand Still. ¬|
A domain of black and white expanded outward from Arthur, halting the flow of time for everything within a kilometre radius. The gravity well at the centre of the fleet continued to exert its pull, drawing ships closer, but its range was significantly diminished by Arthur’s gravitational energy.
The water stopped swirling, and the sea monsters that had been climbing the ships to attack the demons froze mid-motion.
The demons, caught in the heat of battle, were also suspended in time, as were the scouts attempting to set up a concealment formation and those on the bridge trying to send SOS messages—who had their radio signals disrupted by the Leviathan’s gravity energy.
At that moment, everything came to a standstill—except for Arthur.
“Celestia.”
By his command, a sword appeared in his hands.
It had a blade that was almost completely transparent, with a black line running through it to the tip.
Arthur’s destructive energy seamlessly entered the blade and the sword amplified it as Arthur raised it high. Then he brought it down in a powerful swing.
“Mountain Split.”
Time resumed its flow.
Arthur’s ‘Mountain Split’ did exactly what the name stated. The slash cleaved through the Leviathan’s pressurized breath with the power to turn a mountain to dust.
The destructive energy sliced through the solid line of sea-green water law energy, reaching the Leviathan faster than it could react, and slamming into its massive head with devastating force and knocking it backwards.
Blood spurted into the air, painting the ocean red as Arthur’s attack shattered the creature’s touch scales, leaving behind a deep gash.
[what?!]
[Lord Crarox!!]
The other sea monsters howled in distress at the sight of their wounded lord. Their roars echoed across the ocean, a cacophony of fear and worry for the mighty Leviathan now bleeding into the waters.
“Crarox? So, it’s actually not that Yedrist guy.”
Arthur murmured under his breath as he watched the massive creature crash back into the ocean, creating a thunderous splash that sent waves rolling outward.
The Gravity Well at the centre of the fleet collapsed with the Leviathan’s loss of focus, and the demons seized the moment to stabilize their ships, retaliating with their weapons against the encroaching sea monsters.
Evan also got attacked as well. Fishmen with fish heads and humanoid bodies charged at him with their claws tearing through the air.
They’d seen him attack ‘Crarox’ earlier and tried to retaliate, but they were not Evan’s opponents.
He simply teleported behind them and faster than they could compute, Evan’s blade was sending their necks off their heads.
The last thing they saw was Evan sheathing his sword and turning to look in the direction of Arthur who was attacked by level 700 Sea monsters.
But before the sea monsters could reach him, a platoon of similarly levelled demons dashed in, blocking their path to prevent them from reaching Arthur.
“General Vaughn! We’d set up the concealment formation! Please help us!”
One of the naval captains shouted, urgency lacing his voice and Arthur shrugged nonchalantly before glancing at Evan and asked.
“Have you used your ‘Full Appraisal’ skill on this thing? I wanna know if there’s anything I missed.”
“Yeah, here’s the result.”
Evan had appraised Crarox the instant he appeared, but he didn’t go through the status since he’d launched a Vortex right after to block its breath.

“The fuck?! He’s got a Pseudo-Authority!”
Evan’s eyes widened in surprise when he saw this, and Arthur frowned. He recalled how Crarox had effortlessly healed from Evan’s earlier attack and quickly concluded that keeping the fight on the water would only prolong it unnecessarily.
‘That’s obvious though…’
Satisfied that he hadn’t overlooked anything crucial, Arthur turned to Evan, who was muttering about wanting the ‘Gravitational Maelstrom’ skill.
“You wanted some subordinates to kill to level up, didn’t you?”
He gestured toward the thousands of sea monsters surrounding them and continued.
“Voila!”
“When I said ‘some’, I meant a few hundred, not thousands!!”
“But more enemies mean more levels, though?”
Arthur laughed at his Evan’s reaction as he reminded the Rogue Hero of this crucial fact and Evan couldn’t help but agree.
“That is true. Alright then, I’d go butcher them up. We’re having fried fish for dinner!”
Evan pivoted to face the starboard side of the ship, where hordes of monsters clamoured, then assumed a running stance.
“Blessing of Destruction: First Activation.”
He muttered those words under his breath, and then kicked off the ground and launched himself forward at supersonic speed, transforming into a blur of crimson-gold light.
Evan’s first target was a Fishman poised to skewer a fallen Demon with its harpoon. His foot connected with the creature’s head and the power behind his kick tore the head clean off.
Shockwaves from the impact rippled outward, further amplified by his Shockwave skill, sending nearby sea monsters flying off the ship’s deck and crashing back into the ocean.
While still in mid-air, Evan raised his hands to his chest and conjured a sphere of frigid energy.
“Harbinger of Ice: Glacial Annihilation.”
Evan unleashed the ultimate ice technique of his Unique Series Skill, and the ice spread, freezing everything in sight.
