Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 912 - 912: World Magic; Spell Number 5.

Evan darted through the sky, weaving around the Kraken’s thrashing tentacles. As one massive arm lashed out at him, Evan met it head-on, slashing downward with the Unforged Vale wreathed in golden ice.

The blade sliced through the thick flesh, and as it did, the ice seeped into the Kraken’s body.

Immediately, Evan deactivated Harbinger of Ice and watched the spot he slashed. Within seconds, the ice patch that initially only covered a small area around the wound rapidly spread out like a creeping sickness.

The Kraken let out an agonized roar as the corrosion took hold, black blood spilling out as its skin broke down.

‘I see. It also gave my normal Ice Element Soul Damaging properties.’

Normally, Evan could only damage souls with the destruction essence of BoD. He infused its power into his elemental attacks, hence why his ice and lightning used with BoD were usually ‘crimson-gold’ in colour.

Now, he had another source of soul damage that didn’t rely on BoD, and the energy consumption was also lower.

Conversely, it did not give the 300% buff BoD did.

‘It’s useful.’

He would NOT deny that.

“I would like to use the Akashic Page to test out some Darkness Spells, but I can’t do that without issues…”

Sighing, Evan swung his blade, cleaving the Level 500 Kraken in two unequal halves with a full-powered slash before jumping onto a nearby ship.

He folded his wings and let himself fall, expecting a smooth landing—only to be nearly flung back into the air as gravity itself turned chaotic.

“Wha-?!”

He quickly activated Everlasting Chains to anchor himself, watching as demons and sea monsters alike were thrown upwards, caught in the sudden gravitational upheaval.

Ignoring them, he turned his eyes to the source of the anomaly and his eyes widened in shock.

“…is that a fucking black hole?!”

Evan saw Arthur hovering in the sky, wielding a gravitational singularity that absorbed the entire breath attack Crarox had unleashed at him.

The singularity devoured the energy effortlessly, condensing it into a swirling, destructive orb that devoured even light.

This was the Skill that Evan had seen in Arthur’s status board; the one with a lengthy name, and a devastating effect.

Accelerated Gravitational Singularity of Destruction. Or AGSD for short.

Arthur then redirected the singularity toward a fleet of nearby Aramisian airships, releasing the accumulated energy in a torrent of pure energy that exploded in the sky above the fleet after being violently expelled from the singularity.

The energy wave incinerated the airships in a blinding flash. Moments later, smouldering wreckage rained down, the remains of soldiers reduced to nothing but ash.

Evan had just offered a silent prayer for the fallen soldiers when a realization hit him.

‘Wait, Aramisian ships?’

During all the fighting, the Armada hadn’t stopped moving. They even increased their speed as the concealment formation Evan had detected earlier had been broken.

The Aramisian forces had detected them and were rushing to intercept them. But it was too late—the demons were already too close.

‘I didn’t even pay much attention to the shores, to think we’re already this close.’

As the thought passed, he caught sight of the Leviathan Arthur was fighting.

He coiled his tail, gathering lightning energy, poised to strike Arthur, who was busy delivering blow after punishing blow to the beast’s head.

The moment he noticed the tail emerging from the water, Evan unfurled his dragon wings and kicked off the ship’s deck, charging into the air and right towards where Arthur was.

Mid-air, he switched out the magic stones in the Energem Reclaimer, before reactivating Limit Break.

Time Difference activated and Evan saw Arthur’s punch connect with the left side of Crarox’s face in slow motion.

In that same moment, the Leviathan’s tail shot forward, crackling with powerful lightning and moving at a speed Evan doubted Arthur could dodge in his current off-balance state, fresh from his last powerful strike.

Possessing a Pseudo-Authority of Time, Arthur had the option of stopping Time, but before he had the chance, Evan activated Blink, appearing beside the tail as it hurtled forward.

He targeted a vulnerable spot where Arthur had previously struck and wounded with destruction law energy that prevented the wound from healing and swung the Unforged vale which was cloaked in prismatic flames, with all his might.

“World Sunder!”

The destructive arc of flames sliced through the weakened flesh, searing through the Leviathan’s scales and sending his tail veering off course.

Evan’s flames roared to life, spreading across Crarox’s body and licking hungrily at the scales, probing for further weaknesses. The new Blessing he just received was activated, allowing him to deal even more damage to the Leviathan.

Normally, Crarox’s durability as a Sovereign would have withstood whatever attack Evan could throw at it, but Arthur’s previous attacks had shattered the Leviathan’s scales and torn into the flesh, leaving open wounds that his Ocean Embrace skill struggled to heal.

So, Evan’s attacks easily bypassed the remnants of his durability, cutting directly into his vitality. To add salt to the wound, he opened his palm and unleashed an energy blast of lightning!

[GAARRGG!!!]

Crarox roared, a guttural, pain-filled bellow that shook the battlefield.

Blood sprayed as Evan’s flames merged with his lightning, igniting a fresh explosion of destructive energy that ripped through the Leviathan’s body, leaving it flailing in agony.

The agonised Leviathan tried to bite Arthur, but before the teeth could snap shut, Arthur unfurled a pair of massive wings and soared upward, out of the Leviathan’s reach.

Evan blinked in surprise; he’d known Arthur could fly without wings, so why bring them out now?

The answer soon became clear as magic power surged around Arthur, swirling and gathering as three spell circles materialized in the air before him.

Devils, Demons, Angels and Dragons.

Races that possessed wings. These Wings were not only for flight but also acted as built-in magic catalysts.

With them, these races could fight without staves and grimoires, but they still did anyway as the extra amplifications provided by these tools made them even more powerful.

Arthur’s father was a god. A Titan god, to be exact. His mother was a Leviathan Devil, and the boy had inherited her wings.

The sight of the magic circles drew Crarox’s gaze, the Leviathan’s eyes narrowing with instinctual recognition of impending danger.

Crarox began charging a breath attack, his jaws opening wide as energy gathered, ready to disrupt Arthur’s spellcasting. But Evan wasn’t about to stand idly by and let that happen.

He knew full well that any one of Crarox’s strikes could deal a lethal blow, killing him instantly, yet he was confident he could buy Arthur enough time to complete the spell without getting hit.

Besides, Evan had a reason for interfering in this battle, and he wasn’t about to leave without accomplishing that goal.

“Hey, Big Guy. Mind lending me some of your skills?”

The symbol of Evan’s Mystic Eyes lit up as he spoke and he summoned the Gazebind Aegis on his right hand before shouting.

“Look over here!”

Of course, expecting Crarox to willingly turn at his command was far-fetched. But Evan wasn’t relying on the Leviathan’s compliance.

In this case, Crarox’s will did not matter.

Evan’s shield was not something Crarox could resist. At that moment, Crarox’s will was no longer his own.

[?!]

The Leviathan’s shocked eyes met Evan’s as his head was forcefully turned in the boy’s direction, allowing him to meet the conditions to use his Mystic Eyes.

Crarox fired his breath at Evan and tried to turn back to Arthur, however, Evan simply teleported behind him with blink and spoke once more.

“Dude, I’m over here.”

The Leviathan, caught by the shield’s magnetic compulsion, was forced to face him once more.

Crarox snapped his jaws at Evan, only to bite down on Evan’s Stout Guardian, devouring it in the Rogue Hero’s place.

The construct shattered in the creature’s maw, but Evan was unscathed and in those few seconds Crarox was forced to look at his eyes due to the shield’s power—

‘I wonder…would I be able to mimic ‘Pseudo-Authorities’ as I am now?’

Evan mulled over this dangerous idea, but his focus snapped back to reality when he perceived a tremendous surge of power coming from above.

Sensing what was to come, he teleported high into the sky, wings spread wide to keep him aloft, and looked down at Arthur who had just finished casting his spell.

Three radiant magic circles, each distinct in design. The first held five rotating rings, the second three, and the third four, all inscribed with a fusion of runes and languages from Arthur’s home universe.

“Wait up…isn’t that World Magic?!”

Evan’s eyes widened in shock as the overall structure of the array of Magic Circles hovering in front of Arthur resembled a World Magic Spell he knew.

In Aidos online, the Top 10 Rankers had access to 5 World Magic Spells each.

Evan, being number 1, was the first to make his pick and this spell was one of those he picked.

World Magic; Spell Number 5: Armageddon.

Coincidentally or not, that just happened to be the same name that Arthur called out.

|¬Pseudo-Authority of Destruction: Armageddon. ¬|

For a brief moment, silence reigned.

Then, crimson-silver meteors blazed into existence, lighting up the sky as they hurtled toward the earth below.

Each one was infused with pure destruction energy, racing at supersonic speed toward Crarox and the surrounding land.

|¬Selective Destruction. Limited Range. ¬|

Arthur spoke and the power of his words commanded the universal laws, creating a gravitational force that pulled all the falling meteors towards Crarox alone.

If any escaped the force and crashed on the ground elsewhere, the most they’d do is destroy the earth and create craters. But if there was a Demon nearby, then that Demon would be completely unscathed!

Such was the power of Selective Destruction, something Arthur possessed as someone who comprehended the Law of Destruction itself.

As the barrage of meteors descended, they pounded Crarox relentlessly, shattering scales and leaving the colossal creature exposed.

His sheer size made dodging impossible.

He attempted to dive below the waves, but Arthur’s outstretched hand created a gravitational force that held him suspended, keeping half his body above water, and rendering escape futile.

The only way he could completely evade was to either teleport—which he could not do—or reduce his size—which he could only do if he switched to a human form.
