Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 954 - 954: Disaster Genesis

Furious, Tanyth ripped the serpents from his body, but as he did, a wall of crimson lightning blocks appeared behind him.

‘Thunderclap.’

They folded inward with a ‘clapping’ motion, releasing a wide-reaching lightning burst that obliterated everything in its path—Tanyth being the unfortunate target.

The ensuing explosion of lightning released a massive surge of power, shattering the ground and leaving a smouldering crater in its wake.

Evan dashed through the explosion, crimson ice swirling around the Unforged Vale as he activated multiple skills.

‘Pierce Guard, Adamantine Might, Elemental Gale, Vortex, Harbinger of Ice.’

Along with those skills, was the weapon ability of the Unforged Vale.

‘Slot 2: Frostshade.’

The power of the ice around his blade instantly tripled, and he drove the sword into Tanyth’s torso. His strike connected unimpeded and the force drove Tanyth’s body deep into the weakened ground.

Without warning, an invisible wave of energy slammed into Evan, knocking him back as Tanyth quickly regained his footing and lunged at him.

But before Tanyth could close the distance, Arthur appeared in front of him, landing a powerful uppercut that launched the Hero into the air.

Arthur then raised his hands and summoned a Gravitational Maelstrom, pulling everything within a kilometre radius—including buildings and Aramisian Divine Humans—toward Tanyth with tremendous force and crushing them all in a devastating collision.

Clenching his fist, Arthur amplified the compression of the gravity energy, and in an instant, the Legendary Level Divine Humans caught in the maelstrom were reduced to masses of squeezed flesh.

Evan watched this with a sad expression, a little bit of pity blooming in his chest for the unfortunate souls that had just been sent to the afterlife.

He raised his sword and was about to activate World Sunder to slash through the Maelstrom and damage the one at its centre when Arthur suddenly dashed in front of him, grabbing his sword.

Despite the destruction law energy radiating from the blade, Arthur remained unharmed, his focus solely on the frost power emanating from the sword.

“Evan…”

“…yeah?”

Evan raised an eyebrow, puzzled by Arthur’s actions. The godslayer then shocked him with a line that left him speechless.

“The frost power in your sword…it’s not just your Harbinger of Ice Skill, is it? It’s powered by your energy, but this is Sigesi’s sword’s power…”

“…”

Evan didn’t respond immediately. His gaze shifted between Arthur and the blade before he sighed and asked.

“Dude, what the fuck?”

He certainly hadn’t expected Arthur to make such a connection.

‘How does he know it’s Sigesi’s power?’

This was the first time Evan was using this in front of Arthur, but what Evan didn’t know was that Arthur and Sigesi sparred with each other a lot.

Their fights were so popular among the Demons that hundreds came to watch them every time. They also placed bets too!

If Evan knew this, then Arthur recognizing Frostshade’s power at first glance wouldn’t seem so surprising.

As Evan didn’t explicitly deny Arthur’s statement, the godslayer took it as confirmation that the Unforged Vale indeed held Frostshade’s power.

“Do you know Sigesi in the future?”

Evan actually didn’t, but Arthur didn’t give him a chance to answer.

“First, Artemisia, and now Sigesi. I’m starting to think you ending up on Aramis wasn’t a coincidence…”

In response, Evan shrugged and activated his World Sunder skill like he initially wanted to.

“That’s not my problem. All I’m concerned about is when I’m gonna get back home. I miss my fiancée.”

Evan’s honest desire to see Eliza again made Arthur chuckle. He could relate; he too missed his friends back home.

“I can go back whenever I want, but I gave myself a 1-year time limit here.

Originally, my goal was Inferior Sovereign, but now I’m aiming for at least Inferior Transcendent. Why don’t you give yourself a goal too? It’d help get your mind off things.”

“A goal, huh?”

Evan repeated the words, twisting his lips behind his mask.

While he had planned to use Aramis’ war with Gozon to rack up kills and gain EXP, he hadn’t thought of setting specific levelling goals before heading home.

‘I did say I wanted to become a Legendary before leaving Plomux, but that was a short-term goal that I’ve already reached.

But what Arthur is talking about is a long-term goal…’

Evan went silent for a moment, thinking about the Major World powers on future Aidos before making his decision.

‘Let’s try that and see. How about Level 799? That’d put me on the top amongst Living Legends back home.’

Just as he thought that, Evan sensed a surge of energy from above and looked up to see that the Gravitational Maelstrom Arthur had trapped Tanyth in had exploded.

Glancing at Arthur, Evan noticed a trace of silver blood on the godslayer’s palm, but it quickly vanished as Arthur rewound time on his hand.

“He broke out of it with cosmic energy.”

Arthur explained, and the two of them watched as their Aramisian opponent condensed an enormous amount of aether and cosmic energy.

“Aetherstorm!!!!”

Descending from the skies was a tempest of aetheric energy. Powerful red bolts struck down with unerring accuracy, their destructive intent aimed at obliterating everything below.

Arthur and Evan exchanged a glance before shrugging and kicking off the ground, dashing headlong toward the oncoming storm.

Celestia materialized in Arthur’s hands and he silently infused it with the power of Null, enveloping the blade in silvery energy as he raised it high, and then swung it down.

|¬Cataclysmic Divide! ¬|

A massive silver arc burst forth from Arthur’s sword, travelling at relativistic speed. The power behind it distorted space as it carved through the aether storm and split it in two.

The Extinction Law energy in the strike pierced deep, erasing all the aetheric bolts and forming a Dimensional Rupture that devoured the storm’s chaotic energy.

Not to be outdone, Evan used two of his skills in quick succession.

“Adamantine Might. World Sunder!”

Power coursed through his body as he swung his sword, unleashing a devastating slash of Prismatic Flames.

The vibrant flames infused with destruction law energy tore into the storm, and Arthur used his Pseudo-Authority to enhance the ‘destruction’ within the flames.

Together, their combined energies obliterated Tanyth’s Aetherstorm.

The resulting explosion of light and energy was dazzling and visible for miles around. Shockwaves rippled through the earth, tearing it apart and hurling debris skyward.

Far above, Tanyth’s eyes widened in disbelief as he watched his Aetherstorm destroyed before his very eyes. With Arthur and Evan flying straight toward him, he had only a moment to act and he chose to use another one of his Unique Skills.

“Disaster Genesis!”

Tanyth’s voice boomed, his body glowing with cosmic energy as he drew upon the raw, untamed forces of natural disasters, shaping their destructive potential into attacks directed at Evan and Arthur.

The earth below split apart, jagged fissures spreading rapidly as seismic tremors fractured the ground. Massive chunks of earth tore free and hurtled toward Arthur at supersonic speed.

At the same time, volcanic eruptions spewed rivers of molten lava, surging toward him from behind, while fiery meteors rained down from the heavens, each one aimed with unerring accuracy.

For Evan, Tanyth first targeted the boy’s obvious elemental weakness—Water.

A colossal tidal wave rose high, torrents of pressurized water shooting toward him at near-hypersonic speeds. Violent storms churned overhead, bringing hurricanes and crackling lightning down upon him. Amid this chaos, an icy blizzard howled, its intent to freeze him where he stood.

‘Even if he can wield both fire and ice, he’ll have to choose one to counter my attacks. Whichever he neglects will hit him full force—either way, he’s bound to suffer.’

Such were Tanyth’s thoughts, the thoughts of someone who didn’t know of Evan’s frostfire.

Faced with the onslaught of natural disasters, Arthur’s priority wasn’t his own defence—it was Evan.

‘Pseudo-Authority of Time: Memories of the Future.’

Using his Pseudo-Authority, he granted Evan the ability to foresee the incoming attacks, while simultaneously accelerating his movements to keep pace with their overwhelming speed.

“Much appreciated.”

Sensing the buffs, Evan muttered his thanks, then swung his blade and activated his technique.

“Mesarthim; Red: Hell Unleashed!”

The searing heat of his prismatic flames melted the blizzard’s ice in moments, evaporating it completely.

Harbinger of Ice activated next, instantly replacing the flames on his sword with frost—the result of his Frozen Inferno’s ability to switch seamlessly between the opposing elements.

With another swing of his blade, he used Frostshade’s ability and sent an icy wave colliding with the tidal wave, transforming the torrents of water into colossal, horizontal ice pillars.

The tidal wave froze solid in a dazzling display of elemental mastery.

‘Elemental Surge. Elemental Shield.’

First, omnidirectional bursts of ice and fire erupted from him, creating counter-forces that neutralized the hurricanes and scattered the lightning strikes. Then, a spherical barrier of elemental energy enveloped him, deflecting the residual wind and electricity, leaving him unscathed.

Not far from his position, Arthur commanded the ambient cosmic energy, sending it surging toward the fractured earth below.

The cracks in the ground sealed themselves, and the chunks of dislodged terrain that had been hurtling toward him reversed their trajectory, slamming back into the ground as if a movie were being played in reverse.

Expanding his time sphere, Arthur slowed the descent of the incoming meteors, granting him the time needed to address the volcanic eruptions. Manipulating gravity, he bent space itself to redirect the molten streams into the sky, dispersing them harmlessly.

Finally, he amplified the temporal energy acting on the meteors mid-air, freezing them in place long enough to activate his Destruction Pseudo-Authority. Before ‘Aramis’ could do anything about the time stop, concentrated bursts of destruction energy shattered the meteors into harmless dust, scattering them across the battlefield.

Undeterred by them blocking his attacks, Tanyth continued to unleash disaster after disaster, each one more devastating than the last.

‘I didn’t think they’d block them so easily. If so…’

Realizing his adversaries could counter each individual disaster, Tanyth opted for a different approach. He drew upon all the cosmic energy ‘Aramis’ supplied him and began combining multiple disasters into a single, catastrophic maelstrom.

Arthur, however, had no intention of letting Tanyth release it.

“Evan! On 3!”

Arthur’s left eye glowed behind his mask as he shouted, and with his Time Pseudo-Authority, he halted time around Tanyth for a second.

“3!”

“The heck, dude?!”

Evan laughed, bemused by Arthur skipping the first two counts entirely. But his laughter didn’t stop him from activating his Blink skill to teleport behind Tanyth.

Simultaneously, Arthur used spatial law energy to teleport to Tanyth’s other flank and the moment the Aramisian Hero broke free of the time freeze, he immediately sensed their presences behind him.

“Wha?!”

Panic flashed across his face as he attempted to detonate the swirling ‘Disaster Convergence’ hovering above him.

But Arthur and Evan were already in motion, their attacks unleashed in perfect synchronicity.

|¬Extreme Nothingness! ¬|

[Prismatic Vortex!]

Arthur’s sword struck first, piercing through the dense cosmic energy barriers surrounding Tanyth.

His Extreme Nothingness Unique Skill channelled the power of his ‘Null’—the same thing that ‘Aramis’ was so scared of— to obliterate his target on a sub-atomic level, reducing them to ‘nothing’ while the Time power accelerated it so it happened almost instantly.

Though the cosmic energy barriers Tanyth had done their best to resist, they weren’t a match for the overwhelming power.

All the barriers splintered into fragments of light before being consumed by the remaining energy of Arthur’s attack that depleted Tanyth’s durability and inflicted damage on both his physical body and his soul.

With Tanyth’s durability stripped away by Arthur, Evan’s Prismatic Vortex could shine in all its kaleidoscopic hues. The swirling vortex of prismatic flames exploded forward, and the two attacks converged on Tanyth one after the other.

Arthur’s first, then Evan’s a split second later.

The impact was… cataclysmic.
