Chapter 1755: That Goddess Must Be Really Generous!

Aquarina was shocked.
Her mother could tell she had received a new divine blessing immediately after looking at her!
“Eh?! You could tell right away?!” she gasped in disbelief.
“But of course I could tell right away! You think you could ever fool your mother?” Nepheline laughed. “Also a diadem, staff, and ring… That’s what most Saints get usually. Well, at least Faylen was gifted that.”
“Sylphy’s mother…” Aquarina muttered. “I-I guess so… Yeah, I’m a Saintess…”
“This is so damn unexpected!” Nepheline said. “What should we do? Do you want us to celebrate this?”
“T-There’s no need mom…” Aquarina said. “It’ll be the same either way, right? It just has a little more power. Maybe the Gods… Uh, they were feeling really bad about me, or maybe they wanted me to defeat that ant.”
“Hmmm, judging by your voice you have no clue either…” Nepheline sighed. “That might be a reason, I suppose. It makes sense. If that thing has powerful Divinity and became something like a False God, then the Gods have every reason to want it out of the picture. Well, any new blessing is a good and welcome blessing either way, right?”
“Yeah, though these elements aren’t usually what I wielded before,” said Aquarina. “Is it the first time someone becomes a Hero and a Saintess? And over so many elements?”
“I think so…” her mother said. “Well, you’re pretty unique already, dear. You’re a big exception alongside Sylphy. But it’s not like I specialized in just Earth Magic myself. I was also pretty good at Nature Magic back in the day. I still am, but not as good as those at my rank who specialize solely in that. When you’re young, you usually just pick and learn as many things as you can. But as you grow older, you don’t get that benefit anymore. You begin to realize that to surpass your previous levels, you need more and more resources and time. So most of us specialize. I specialized in Earth when I used to be good at Nature, Life, and Water, aside from Earth.”
“Ooh…” Aquarina nodded. “I guess once I get to your level, I’ll need to do the same…”
“Probably not that strictly, though. You’ve been mastering your family’s powers really well, those from your father’s bloodline. Your water is your main element, with ice as a branching element, kind of similar to metal, crystal, and mud from Earth,” Nepheline explained.
“Ah yeah, yeah, probably steam or mist could be part of that?” Aquarina wondered.
“Yeah! I guess you haven’t really gotten into that part yet, huh?” her mother said. “But you’ll probably be able to safely specialize in two to three elements, which is a massive win! You’ll be among the few who have done it like that.”
“What would be the other element?” Aquarina wondered, tilting her head.
“Earth! Obviously,” her mother smiled proudly. “You’re doing the Hero’s Inheritance later on, right? Well, that’ll elevate your Earth Element Comprehension and Power so you’ll surely be able to specialize in it. But the thing is, you’ll have to mix and match elements. Now you’ve got this small divinity that turned you into a Saintess of… two other elements, you said fire and thunder?”
“Yeah…” Aquarina nodded.
“Interesting. This is the first time I’ve seen gods from different elemental pantheons blessing the same person more than once… Fire, Thunder, and Water just don’t get along as nicely…” Nepheline said. “Maybe there are some internal disputes between the Gods, and they’re trying to drag you into another faction…”
“E-Eh? Should I be worried?” Aquarina wondered. She knew it was Sylphy, and there was no point in worrying, but she was curious about that.
“No, not really. It’s just their internal disputes. They can’t do much else. And if they gave you these three amazing items, then the god that blessed you, despite it being a small blessing, must be pretty damn rich!” her mother laughed. “Well, congrats, Aquarina! I never imagined I would have a Saintess daughter… So what’s your new Sponsor’s name?”
“A-Ah, I don’t know…” Aquarina said, looking elsewhere.
She deduced it was better to keep it a secret. Nobody would believe Sylphy was a goddess right now, and if Aquarina insisted, things would only get more tiresome. They would begin questioning everything about Sylphy, and she simply didn’t want to get into that place yet.
Maybe one day Sylphy would admit these things and reveal the truth to the adults, but Aquarina was in no position to decide that for her and reveal such secrets earlier, especially because she was her girlfriend and had promised to keep these things a secret to begin with.
“Hmmm, well, yeah, I had no idea which gods blessed me for a while…” Nepheline said. “We could do some sort of oracle ritual to find out, though! Don’t you want to do that? I would really like to know which god made my daughter a Saintess!”
“Nah, don’t worry about it, mom. I think it’s a goddess, though, and they had… a very warm and sincere aura to them, don’t worry,” Aquarina said. “I am sure that everyone here, including me, will get to know her true name one day… I just hope that we’ll be ready for that moment.”
“Huh? Okay, I guess, if that’s what you want… so be it!” her mother nodded. “Hey, Shade! Guess what?! Our daughter is a Saintess now! She got a new blessing!”
“W-What?!” Aquarina could hear her father’s voice coming from the kitchen. He seemed completely shocked, running in with a face full of disbelief. “Aquarina! Is that true?! You’re not pulling a prank on us. Ah! That aura… it’s not a prank!”
“Y-Yeah… Uh, let’s not overreact here, okay? Let’s take it easy…” Aquarina sighed.
In the end, the entire house, with all her friends, made a huge commotion about this event. Then the rest of the village learned about it, and the whole tribe started talking about this mysterious goddess of fire and thunder.
Even though Aquarina never revealed her name, Sylphy’s existence as a goddess began to spread through rumors. Faith, although thin, began to slowly accumulate within her Soul.
“Oh… Aquarina’s accumulating a lot of Faith for me… That was quick!”
