Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 1827: Playful Little Esmeralda

Chapter 1827: Playful Little Esmeralda

Aquarina walked to where her parents stood, deftly avoiding dozens of people praising her as a hero while she grew increasingly embarrassed. They offered her food and various physical objects, but she politely declined, feeling their admiration was slightly exaggerated. She then greeted her parents and engaged in a pleasant conversation, learning that her little sister, Esmeralda, had woken up unexpectedly.

Aquarina seized the opportunity to play with her adorable sibling, aiming to strengthen their bond. She understood that building a strong sibling relationship required spoiling her sister and playing with her from infancy, just as Sylphy had done with her younger brother, Zephyrus.

“Aww, come here! I’m going to take her all for myself!” Aquarina exclaimed, swiftly scooping up her sister and darting away, playfully nibbling Esmeralda’s tiny arms or neck. She used no force, of course, only intending to make her laugh.

“Geheheh! Heheh!” Esmeralda giggled adorably, waving her tiny hands and playfully swatting Aquarina’s face. “Wawaaah!”

“Ouch! Ouchies! This baby sure packs a punch, eh?” Aquarina laughed, gently placing her sister on one shoulder, using her shadows for support to ensure she wouldn’t fall. “Alright! How about this position, eh? You’re now the queen of the party, Esmeralda!”

“Waaaoow!” Esmeralda, never having been so high off the ground, gasped in surprise as she surveyed her surroundings, her bright emerald eyes gleaming vividly. “Heheh!”

She giggled charmingly, wiggling her chubby little legs. Aquarina smiled, kissing her sister’s tiny hand as she approached her friends.

“Well! Would you look at that, it looks like you brought a little guest!” Silvia said. “Hi, Esmeralda!”

“Waaaiii!” Esmeralda mimicked a “hiii” with her baby talk, demonstrating how quickly she was attempting to speak.

“Aw, she’s so cute!” Silvia giggled. “Can she eat?”

“She’s got teeth already, so she can chew quite a bit,” Aquarina nodded. “But Mom said we should still give her soft food.”

“Is this sweet potato fine?” Justicio asked.

“Sure,” Aquarina replied, sitting down and settling Esmeralda on her lap. The girl eagerly grabbed the small potato and began nibbling it.

“Hmm!” she appeared delighted, savoring her tiny potato. “Nam, nam!”

Aquarina relished the meal with her friends and little sister. The food was exceptional, featuring spicy dishes, sweets, fruits, and an abundance of roasted and grilled meats from various beasts, including wyverns, giant moles, wyrms, and giant fish from the oasis. Aquarina filled her belly like never before, her remarkably fast metabolism swiftly absorbing nutrients to replenish the energy lost from her recent exhaustion.

“So a lot happened, huh?” Justicio said. “We almost died, and now we’re here… that battle was surely the wildest thing I’ve ever seen… Will the Inheritance Trial even compare to that?”

“I don’t know…” Silvia said. “It’ll surely be challenging, I bet, but… well, fighting an actual divine being wasn’t… part of my plans, and it was truly intense.”

“Hmm, even I was pushed to my limits, and I really thought I was strong…” Quetzal said. “I might need much more training.”

“I’ll help in any way I can,” Agua nodded. “Ah, you guys have to do that trial too, right?”

“Yeah,” Justicio nodded. “Don’t you want to join us and take on the trial?”

“We’d love to have you! Could Quetzal join too?” Silvia asked.

“Aaah, after thinking about it for a while, I think I’m good,” Agua smiled. “It’s not really my thing. I’m not physically strong like you all, and I’m certain the trial will focus on that… I also want to rest and help Quetzal adapt to our village, its traditions, and culture, since we’ve welcomed him as part of it.”

“Oh, so that’s what happened! Well, I’m glad,” Aquarina nodded, glancing at Quetzal. “You’re lucky to have found her, Quetzal.”

“Huh?” Quetzal, munching on a sandwich, looked confused. He clearly didn’t grasp what Aquarina meant.

“I guess that’s fine, just the three of us is good enough, I suppose!” Silvia nodded.

“Yeah, we shouldn’t force Agua if she doesn’t want to,” Justicio agreed.

“I agree, the three of us will be fine,” Aquarina said. “Hmmm… Well, once we’re done with the trial, I’ll return to my girlfriend… I really miss her. It’s been over a year since we last met.”

“I see… So you’ll be leaving?” Silvia asked, looking a bit sad. “We’ll miss you…”

“Yeah… Won’t you visit us again?” Justicio asked.

“I’ll definitely visit! But won’t you come with me, though?” Aquarina asked.

“I don’t think we can. There are many things we need to do. If we succeed in the trial, we’ll get a lot of attention, and with our parents and all…” Silvia sighed. “I’d love to, but we’ll need to tie up some loose ends and perhaps be recognized as adults in a year or two.”

“Yeeeah… that’s disappointing, though. I really wanted to go with you and see what snow is,” Justicio sighed. “I know we haven’t been friends as long as your other friends, but… I hope you’ll remember us, Aquarina.”

“Yeah…” Agua nodded. “Because I’ll always remember you and everyone else…!”

“Of course I’ll remember you guys!” Aquarina said, her expression tinged with sadness. “Ah shit, now it’s hitting me… It kind of makes me sad to think about leaving! Damn it… I haven’t even left yet… But, ugh.”

“It’s fine…” Silvia said, trying to muster a brave face. “We’ll be here waiting for you, so we can have another adventure someday! And well, the trial’s going to be its own adventure, right? So let’s not dwell on it too much yet.”

“I mean, yeah, we’ve still got time to spend together,” Justicio nodded.

“Hmmm, maybe if Sylphy finishes her training, I could convince her to bring her family here, so you can meet her and everyone else. How about that?” Aquarina asked. “And then, if you’re ready, we could do something together here and there. Maybe we could even invite you to the Royal Magic Academy! Would you like to join?”

“An academy?” Silvia asked. “Oh wow, but isn’t that a place for rich people?”

“Wouldn’t we get mocked all the time?” Justicio wondered. “I’m not sure I’d like that…”

“I wouldn’t mind going!” Agua said.

“It would be interesting…” Quetzal smiled.

Everyone seemed to have their own opinions on the matter, but Justicio appeared the most hesitant.

“Well, you’ll likely face trials and challenges, but Sylphy and I will ensure you feel welcomed… Anyway, that’s something to consider for now, and when the time comes, you can give me your answer,” Aquarina said with a gentle smile. “Anyway! This huge feast won’t eat itself! Let’s enjoy the moment together.”

“Yeah!” her friends cheered.
