Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 1829: Justicio’s Family

Chapter 1829: Justicio’s Family

Undine giggled as she watched Leon, Drakon, and Leviathan chase one another through the expansive, flexible corridors of Aquarina’s house. She remarked on the sheer size of the place, noting how it allowed them to play and roam freely.

Pyuku observed the structure with admiration, marveling at how remarkable it was that Aquarina’s mother had constructed the entire house herself. For someone who had mastered the Earth Attribute to such an extent, he mused, the cost of building a home seemed practically negligible.

Aquarina added that with a bit more effort, her mother could easily construct an entire city. She explained that the Elf King occasionally summoned her mother to design new buildings, for which she was generously compensated. Beyond that, her mother had personally reinforced the capital’s walls, restored collapsed structures, and contributed to numerous other architectural achievements.

“So she’s an accomplished architect…!” Undine said. “I wonder, though, why didn’t she just build a new house every time you traveled through the jungle?”

“It would have been too disruptive. The jungle is different from open areas, with trees everywhere. She preferred to live in harmony with nature and avoid disrupting it just for a more luxurious home,” Aquarina explained, as she began boiling water, cutting fruits, and preparing pancake batter, breaking eggs and mixing them with milk and flour.

“So that’s how it is…” Undine nodded. “Well, it’s heartening to know that things have improved for you, though.”

“Yes, a lot has changed. It has been years since then,” Aquarina said with a nostalgic smile. “Anyway, these pancakes are almost ready…”

“Alright, I’m here…”

“Sorry for being late, let’s have a hearty breakfast.”

Her parents descended the stairs after a few minutes, having taken a family bath with Esmeralda, an experience Aquarina hadn’t shared with them in years, largely due to her growing embarrassment.

With her mother and father, Aquarina prepared a delicious breakfast, including not only pancakes and fruit salad but also grilled meat sandwiches, baked potatoes with cheese, and other high-calorie, protein-rich foods to energize her. They also enjoyed beans and seeds from the Oasis people, which they frequently purchased.

“So today is the day, isn’t it?” Shade asked. “Are you ready, Aquarina?”

“Yes,” she nodded with a confident smile. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for over a year! I wish I could have done it sooner, but you said I needed all that training…”

“Indeed, you did. Without that training, you wouldn’t be prepared,” her mother said. “You needed the strength and endurance it provided… The incident with the blazing ants was a separate matter entirely, so I don’t count that.”

“I suppose you’re right…” Aquarina nodded, feeling prepared. “Alright, we should go pick up Silvia and Justicio then…”

“Yes, Svana should be awaiting you three at the Inheritance’s entrance,” Nepheline said. “Let’s go.”

The family departed their house, navigating the bustling, noisy streets of Everstone. People greeted them constantly, as they were renowned not only for their past feats but also for their ongoing efforts to protect and support the community.

“Oh, Aquarina! There goes our little hero!”

“Is she heading for the Inheritance Trial? Good luck!”

“You can do it!”

“And even if you don’t succeed, you can try again next year.”

“I’m definitely doing it now! There’s no way I’m waiting another year in this place!” Aquarina declared, prompting laughter from the crowd at her spirited reaction.

“Hahaha!”

“Well, if you say so!”

“That’s the spirit, girl!”

“You’ve got this!”

As they cheered, Aquarina felt a flush of embarrassment, hurrying toward Justicio’s house. For the first time, the young man wasn’t sleeping and was already waiting outside with his parents. His gentle-looking mother stood taller than his grumpy, shorter father, creating a humorous height contrast.

“Hey, Aquarina! You’re here,” Justicio said with a bright smile. “I’m ready for the Inheritance! I’ve been training this whole time.”

“So you really came for my boy, huh…” his father said, rubbing his beard. “I wonder, does she have feelings for you, Justicio? You’d better not miss this chance!”

“What?!” Justicio gasped, as his father’s words carried to everyone. Aquarina’s eyebrows twitched as she forced a smile, glaring at Justicio to quickly deny it. “No, Father, you’ve got it all wrong! Aquarina is already engaged to someone else…”

“Is that so? My apologies, haha! It’s unusual for a girl to show so much affection and interest in a boy, but I suppose it’s just friendship, eh?” the short man laughed heartily.

“Well, I’d say he fancies another girl,” Aquarina said. “That would be Silv— Muh?!”

Before Aquarina could finish, Justicio covered her mouth to silence her, eager to avoid further teasing from his father about marriage prospects.

“What? What was she going to say?” his father wondered.

“Fufufu, let them be, dear. It’s alright, Justicio, Aquarina, we won’t tease you anymore,” Justicio’s mother giggled.

As she approached her son, she patted his shoulders and kissed his forehead warmly.

“I love you, my dear son. Your father and I are immensely proud of what you’ve become. Your growth, your achievements, and your efforts…” she said. “We recognize all of them, and even before those, we loved you dearly.”

“Mom… I wasn’t a disappointment before? But…” Justicio muttered.

“Tch, you were never a disappointment. You’re my son!” his father said gruffly. “I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished, don’t get me wrong, but… ugh.”

“Hehe, he’s a bit shy about emotional matters, but what your father means is that he loves you,” his mother giggled. “We’ve always been proud of you!” Justicio’s mother giggled softly, noting with affectionate amusement that her husband was always a bit shy about emotional matters.

“Well, damn… thanks,” Justicio muttered, struggling to hold back tears as he hugged his mother tightly, then placed a hand on his father’s shoulder, receiving a silent, affirming gesture in return. “I’ll do everything I can to pass the trial and return triumphant. I’ll make you even prouder and… I’ll ensure the way people view our family changes. I promise.”
