Daimon who saw the state in which Lyn had entered couldn’t help but chuckle behind his mask.

‘For someone that constantly complains about cunning people, she sure is rather sly herself, well not that I would expect something different from the equivalent of miss Annete from a sister race’, he thought to then slightly nod at the red giant wolf, something that Arianna, the little tiger girl and Lyn noticed, which made the three of them think of the same thing.

‘It’s time’.

Back to the fight, Claire who was annoyed at the giant red wolf that kept appearing no matter how much she tried to get rid of it, proposed herself to destroy it with a barrage of her nether arrows, but Lyn was faster than her.

Literally, since blue energy rings appeared around the four legs of the wolf, and the next thing Claire knew is that the wolf was clawing at her from above.

“Wave Piercing Arr…”, midway through her spell, giant red wolf lost its shape turning into a red mass of energy that expanded in every direction, it was the same tactic used by Arianna earlier.

“Damn it!”, Claire wasn’t annoyed by the smokescreen that suddenly obstructed her eyes, but by the fact that she just wasted more nether into casting a spell, instead of just shooting nether at it, which was a waste of energy, though the result was the same, the mass of red energy was instantly pierced by four nether arrows which caused shockwaves, strong enough to dispel the red energy in the vicinity.

However, Claire’s headache wasn’t ending just with that, both the little tiger girl as well as Lyn, had charged out of the red smokescreen with their respective, claws and fists cladded in bright yellow and sky-blue energies, respectively.

“Lightning Shredding Claw”, the first one to reach Claire was Dana, she also took the role to attack head on very much to Claire’s surprise, since both Arianna and Lyn had repeatedly assigned her the least dangerous position in the team, making sure to not let Claire enter in contact with her for too long.

“Lightning Tail Whip”, just as the slashing lights released by her claws were about to make contact with Claire’s energy, Dana lashed her tail which was cladded in yellow energy at it, so that the four attacks collided basically at the same time.

“Booom!”, as expected a hectic energy explosion was produced, however the impact of Claire’s attack still forced Dana to retreat since unlike Arianna she couldn’t take such heavy impacts head on, luckily her speed still allowed her to flash away, to prevent a direct impact.

As a result, Dana only lost a few hairs due to the sudden impact, apparently Claire held the grudge of those bald spots on her head, against the little tiger girl, though she only managed to force her back into the distance.

“I haven’t forgotten about you, Wave Splitting Arrows!”, Claire directly looked backwards where Lyn who had disappeared from plain sight earlier, just became visible again.

The four ethereal crossbows floating at Claire’s sides adjusted their position to point at the sky-blue haired girl to then release nether arrows in her direction, unlike with Dana, Claire didn’t dare to let Lyn approach her that much, so she attacked before Lyn could reach a certain distance from her.

“Crack!”, of course Lyn didn’t bother with trying to dodge, she simply thrusted her fists frontwards, and two sky-blue shockwaves stacked together stopped the advance of the four nether arrows.

“Booom!”, this time the explosion caused a loud thunder-like sound as well as strong gusts of wind result of the shockwave, and while Lyn was forced into the distance, so was Claire.

‘Damn it!’, which made the latter see red, even in her current state she couldn’t completely overwhelm the sky-blue haired girl with just one of her powers, still she didn’t let rage blind her and instead disappeared from her previous position, becoming visible not too far from where Dana had appeared, she wanted to make use of the fact that Lyn was forced to retreat, to get rid of either Dana or Arianna.

Just as Claire expected, the red giant wolf materialized in between Dana and herself, though Arianna wasn’t as fast as the little tiger girl, she had a longer reach, because she could manifest the giant wolf as soon as she reached a few dozens of meters from the area she was targeting, due to the size of the thing.

“Out of the way!”, seeing the annoying giant red wolf blocking her path, Claire pointed both the crossbows and her hands frontwards and released both green-blue energy and nether from them, it wasn’t a spell but a simple discharge of energies, however she used both of them at the same time.

As a result, the giant red wolf’s whole body was blasted away due to the clash and Arianna who protected herself with both the wolf and her arms, was sent flying into the distance.

However, the fractions of a second, she bought for Dana, allowed the little tiger girl to retreat from the area thus frustrating Claire’s plan to attack her, which made Claire glare in the werewolf girl’s direction.

“Since you want to take her place so bad, then go die in her stead!”, she decided to get rid of the annoying giant red wolf for good, Claire turned into a black-green stream of nether that shot itself towards Arianna who had just landed on the ground after being sent flying away, the wounds on her arms were already healing, but the enemy arrived too fast.

Or more accurately she suffered more damage because she took on a combined attack from Claire by herself, so the recovery was taking a bit more than usual.

“Seismic Step”, however at the last second Lyn appeared above her, the blue energy ring floating behind her upper back pulsed a couple of times and then a huge shockwave descended upon Claire forcing her downwards.

“Crack!”, alongside Claire whose charge was interrupted, the ground below her bent inwards due to the strong pressure that Lyn’s technique created and as if that wasn’t enough, the little tiger girl whose eyes had a fierce light flashing in them, as she saw the wounds on Arianna’s arms, jumped upwards, meeting Claire midway through her travel to the ground, apparently Lyn had now enough control so that her energy wouldn’t affect what she didn’t want to target.

It made sense, since in her words, her race’s unique affinity which the energy she is using is emulating, is created through amplifying her “rhythm”, so she simply tuned it so that the rhythm of the little tiger girl wouldn’t be affected by it, at least that’s the conclusion Daimon reached based on what he knew about Mellie and Annete’s affinity.

“Lighting Ascending Claws”, this time with both her right and left hands whose nails had turned into tiger claws, Dana clawed upwards releasing ten slashing lights which both ascended at high speed towards Claire, while the latter was forced downwards towards the attack, which further accelerated the process.

“Aghh, Wave Splitting Tsunami!”, just as Dana’s attack reached Claire’s left leg, instantly leaving a noticeable wound on her shin, out of which smoke came out due to the silver light added to the attack, which is what forced a pained scream out of Claire’s mouth, a large amount of green-blue energy was released as Claire pressed her gauntlet cladded palms together.

“Booom!”, with Claire as the center an expanding wave of green-blue energy swept everything around her, destroying the ground in the vicinity, however at this point those three had already regrouped and retreated.

Feeling the literal burning pain on her leg due to the wound that Dana had left on her, as well as the figurative burning sensation that not being able to directly get rid of a bunch of lower ranked opponents even at this point, Claire chased after those three with anger burning in her eyes.

However, no matter how much she tried, all her assaults ended either in not achieving anything, receiving a small but horribly painful wound from the little tiger girl, or temporarily wounding Arianna who took the blunt of an attack directed at said little tiger girl, only to recover a moment later while Lyn and Dana blocked Claire from actually doing damage to the werewolf girl.

As a result, continuous explosions plagued the area as those four travelled through all the battlefield, exchanging attacks from time to time, and while normally Claire would have been fine with this, since due to the higher realm that her energy has reached, the enemies should get tired before her, since she has started the corrosion process, that was no longer the case.

Because while she certainly will reach a new peak of strength as times goes on, she won’t be able to maintain it for long before her original lineage gets consumed, and after that a period of weakness will come, and Claire didn’t even need to think to know that at that point, let alone killing those three, even Lyn alone will probably be able to kill her, in other words, time wasn’t on her side.

“Stop running around and go to hell already!”, midway through the same old exchange of attacks, the remnants of Claire’s horn lit up in green-blue energy, as a result, the gauntlets that were limited to her wrists, changed into complete arm armor, which reached all the way to her shoulders.

Not only did her nether increased in a single go, but a third pair of ethereal crossbows appeared behind of her, but what annoyed Lyn the most was the fact that Claire now had, green-blue energy arrows floating above the backside of her hands, forearms, elbows and shoulders, that’s right, she was now imitating when Lyn added more energy rings to her arms.

And the effect also properly copied what it would mean for Lyn to have more of those rings wrapped around her arms, in other words an increase in destructive power.

“Wave Splitting Step”, first and formal, Claire flashed from her previous position, her speed had increased enough for her to reach her target before Arianna was able to manifest the red giant wolf around the three of them.

That doesn’t mean she was defenseless though, her hair, wolf ears and tail had already dyed of a bright red color and the red energy had started to pour out of her body in order to form the wolf, she just was a bit too slow when compared to Claire’s new speed to finish raising up her guard.

“Wave Splitting Barrage”, three of the six crossbows floating at Claire’s side adjusted their position to point at Arianna, before fierce streams of nether were shot from them, impacting the werewolf girl almost instantly to then drag her away into the distance.

“Crack!”, Arianna ended up crashing into a rock formation far away from the battlefield causing its destruction, while she was buried into the pile of broken debris, that being said she having drawn Claire’s attention for a moment was enough for both the little tiger girl and Lyn to get close to Claire, with their attacks ready for her.

“Wave Splitting Rain!”, however the remaining three crossbows pointed at the direction where Dana had just become visible to then release a wide-area rain of mini nether arrows that basically blocked the three directions where she could be attacked by Dana.

“Lightning Shredding Claws”, as the plural of the word “claw” she used, the little tiger girl clawed both of her hands frontwards releasing two large slashing lights that clashed against the majority of the nether arrows, making them explode on the spot, however the remaining arrows, forced Dana to retreat since all her advancing routes were blocked by the ongoing energy explosion.

And that wasn’t all, having forced those two to retreat, Claire directly turned around to face Lyn who was about to punch her on the back of her head, to then meet the sky-blue haired girl’s first, with her own fist.

“Clang!”, Claire’s arm which had four green-blue energy arrows floating above it, collided against Lyn’s arm which didn’t have a single blue energy ring wrapped around it, instead the giant ring floating behind her back shook in response.

The result was the sound of metals colliding as well as sparks flying, before the energy clash was interrupted for the physical impact clash to start.

“Booom!”, a thunderous explosion echoed through the battlefield, before… Lyn was forced to land on the ground.

The sky-blue haired girl spat the blood had accumulated on her mouth and then snorted at the creepy smile that Claire whose unscathed figure came out of the energy explosion and the shockwave caused by their fists colliding, caused.

“If someone were to see that proud expression of yours, they would believe you became a Throne candidate with your own merits”.

One had to give it to Lyn, despite cunningness not being her thing, she was really good at identifying people’s sore points and rubbing salt on them, perhaps because her analyzing capacity was insanely high.

‘For a change I’m glad that Sarah is part nethereal, I don’t even want to imagine what she would have been like if she inherited one of those dolphin lineages’, thought Daimon as he saw Claire’s expression going from cloud nine to the ninth hell in a fraction of a second.

“You see, that’s why you bastards from the Kener family have never been able to produce a Throne candidate naturally, you are too arrogant, if you had the time to be all happy for finally being able to land a hit on me, you should have gone for the kill”, casually said the sky-blue haired girl with a smirk.

Then, out of nowhere Claire’s hair stood on their ends, yellow electricity sparkled around her body, but contrary to what she expected, the little tiger girl wasn’t attacking her, she simply appeared above her, with Arianna holding onto her right arm.

“Lightning Tiger Step”, accompanied by Dana’s voice, a realization hit Claire like a truck, all those times when she was frustrated by the little tiger girl’s speed, she… never heard her calling out the name of a technique, in other words the speed that Claire had attained which finally surpassed that of Dana’s, was only superior to the little tiger girl’s normal speed, when a movement technique wasn’t involved.

But then to Claire’s confusion, Dana didn’t use the hidden advantage she had to properly ambush her, instead she used it to bring that annoying wolf eared girl to her vicinity, because the giant red wolf made its appearance to once again dispel into a red smokescreen in order to obstruct her eyes, which made Claire think of the little tiger girl as a coward, at least until she felt as if an iron plank had clashed at high speed against her body.

“Blegh!”, blood was forced out of Claire’s body as the red energy reached her, before she was smacked against the ground.

“Crack!”, a loud shattering sound echoed through the vicinity as the red energy landed on the ground alongside Claire, before it condensed back into the red giant wolf which was immobilizing Claire with its frontal paws.

“What the hell was…”, just as Claire tried to blast the wolf’s legs away, the little tiger girl who had appeared in front of her, pointed both of her palms at Claire, bright yellow lightning poured out of her body, forming the image of a tiger which opened its mouth.

“Lightning Tiger Roar!”, accompanied by Dana’s fierce voice, the tiger let out a deafening roar at point blank towards Claire.

“Roaaaar!”, leaving aside the thunder-like roaring sound, which reached a really loud tone, making Claire’s ears bleed, the lightning that accompanied it, travelled through Claire’s body, rendering her uncapable of moving.

“Aghhhh!”, well she did manage to scream due to pain, since the silver light that was carried by Dana’s lightning was making her burn from the inside, also Claire smacked her right hand on the ground and black symbols appeared on the distance.

She of course still had a trump card prepared to deal with an unexpected situation, as in she had silent and secretly been gathering some of the nether that remained in the area, for a surprise attack, and now she was planning to use it to both get rid of the lock in which she was trapped by the wolf and kill Dana who had gotten close to her on her own.

‘It sure was a surprise that the damn red wolf could still create a strong physical impact in its dispersed state and I had to use myself as bait, but you fell for it you bitches…’, Claire’s inward celebration was halted, as she saw the corner of the giant red wolf’s mouth bent upwards, as if the thing was laughing at her and the reason for the previous became obvious the next second when streams of nether that were about to reach Claire, and be absorbed into her body, were blocked by a giant blue energy ring that appeared above the whole area where the giant red wolf was standing.

“Sky Shattering Seal”, alongside Lyn’s voice, the giant blue energy ring floating on the sky started trembling in unison with the one that floated behind of her, at the height of her upper back, as if they were using vibrations to communicate with each other.

“Boooom!”, the result were continuous explosions, caused by the streams of nether being destroyed all over the place, which means no power up for Claire.

“I know what they are capable of, “there is no way they are hiding something and still can defend against me”, “I can hide my cards”, those are the arrogant thoughts that led you to ruin, after all the only ones allowed to think in such a way are those that can overwhelmingly crush their opponents head on, right?”, said Lyn as she stole a gaze at Daimon, while she walked towards Claire whose horn finished burning, as a result her hair lost its blue tone and while the green remained, it gained a black tone, but the aesthetic part wasn’t what’s important.

Her realm dropped all the way to the peak of the Lord rank, and the arm armor started cracking and disappearing, her original lineage was… gone, she planned to use that nether she gathered to extend the burn of it, but her plan failed, so now she was screwed.

Especially because in this state, let alone Lyn or Arianna, even Dana could defeat her, maybe not outright kill her, but she for sure won’t be able to lay a hand on that fast little tiger girl.

Seeing the incoming blue energy fist that aimed to crush her skull, Claire shouted in a hurry.

“I-I have information I wish to trade in exchange for my life!!!”, naturally she wasn’t talking to Lyn, because she knew there was absolutely no way she would spare her life nor make a deal with her, there was enough bad blood between them to guarantee that a truce wasn’t possible.

And she also didn’t direct her words to the little tiger girl nor the werewolf girl, but to the masked silver haired youth who has been calmly observing the fight from beginning to end.

“Lyn”, surprisingly her plead was answered and a fraction of a second before her head was turned into a bloody mess by Lyn, her right fist stopped in response to the masked silver haired youth’s voice.

“Oh, come on, she has put a lot of effort to earn it”, said the sky-blue haired girl, to which Daimon showed his right hand where a seemingly normal ring with a blue gem was resting, to her, before tapping his index finger on it twice.

Which made Lyn pout, naturally that ring was where Ophelia was resting and recovering, so Lyn took it that Daimon had a proper reason to prevent her from crushing Claire’s head.

“Ah fine, I bet she is just getting back at me for saying that she raised a future husband out of boredom anyway”, mumbled the sky-blue haired girl, which made the ring tremble.

Still, with a snap of Lyn’s fingers, blue rings appeared above Claire’s body, giving her a bad premonition.

“W-Wait you are not going to… aghhh!”.

“Crack”, all the blue rings went off and broke Claire’s bones in many different areas, causing though non-lethal wounds, horrible pain to her, at least Lyn’s mood seemed to improve after that.

Daimon didn’t pay much attention to that, instead he nodded at Arianna who dispelled the giant red wolf, to then rush towards the other battlefield where Badr was suppressing the wolf black blood specter.
