Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 634: Invasion

Chapter 634: Invasion

As Veronica and Carmen continued to converse and discuss their overall profit was at a high mark, and someone suddenly interrupted them.

"Who is it?" Veronica furrowed her brows, confused by them. She had informed them that she and Carmen needed to discuss further so they should not be disturbed unless it was an important matter.

And to her surprise, the person barged in, nearly causing Veronica to cast her spell, having believed it was an attack.

However, Carmen quickly calmed her down and reminded them where they were.

"It can't be an intruder, Veronica." She whispered softly.

Afterward, she turned toward the supposed "intruder" with a confused expression.

"Xing, why did you barge in here?" Carmen asked, calling OneManMedia by his given name.

Wei Xing, commonly known as OneManMedia, had no time to exchange pleasantries as he exclaimed, "We have a big problem."

"A big problem?" With her eyebrows raised, Carmen proceeded to grin and asked, "Which people or guild wants to mess with us at this time?"

Without a doubt, she believed it had to be those who failed to purchase an Elemental Warrior Set from earlier who wanted to get some revenge.

It was either out of anger or a desperate measure to snatch a few for themselves. No matter the intention, both were equally foolish. Continue your story on My Virtual Library Empire

"No, it's not people." OneManMedia smiled bitterly in response. Had it been some foolish people, then he wouldn't even be worried. After all, Carmen alone could easily exterminate a large group of people with one skill.

"Scouts have reported to me that there is currently a large group of monsters that are gathering just 60 kilometers away from Star Falls City!" He explained and proceeded to send all relevant information to Carmen.

Instantly, Carmen's expression darkened as she browsed through the information.

'What rotten luck is this?' She narrowed her eyes, wondering why there must be a serious conflict appearing when something great had just happened.

"What should we do now?" Veronica's joyous expression changed as well. "We don't have enough manpower to defend against such a monster invasion."

The current monsters displayed on the scene were all 40s and above.

If it were just one or two, then it wouldn't even be considered a crisis.

However, the monsters numbered at least in the ten thousand digits.

Contrary to their reaction, Carmen breathed a sigh of relief and was rather calm after pondering the situation for a while.

"Phew, this isn't a crisis but rather an opportunity." Carmen smiled and said.

"This is an opportunity?" Startled, OneManMedia wanted to ask if she went insane from the shock, but refrained himself. He still cherished his life to be asking such questions.

"But we can't deploy enough manpower to defend against the monster wave." Veronica twitched her brows. "And I doubt other players are willing to assist us, given our current stance."

Hearing that, OneManMedia nodded and chimed in. "I've been informed that the other guilds were ready to take action and eliminate us once we fell to the monster wave."

"Oh, which guilds specifically?" Amused, Carmen inquired, clearly going to take a mental note of these exploiter guilds.

"Most of them are irrelevant, but it was said that they were being enticed by the Lethal Corp after learning about the monster wave. Additionally, the guilds that you previously taught a lesson were starting to show signs of action." OneManMedia reported.

Despite having been taught a lesson, it was clear that these people hadn't learned anything. Rather than reflecting on their action, they actually chose to bide their time and wanted to strike as long as an opportunity arose.

Now it was just perfect. From the spies they sent, it was without a doubt that they knew their Guild Leader seemed to be absent, with only Carmen holding the forte as the management leader.

As for Veronica, aside from her being the organizer and somewhat shrewd in the business and marketing nature, nobody else took her seriously. How could she be a threat when all she had was the background of the Vanguard Guild?

"Those people knew Lunar Wraith couldn't possibly do any guerilla tactics now that there was a large monster wave. We should have eliminated them from the start." Veronica pursed her lips and vented. Clearly, she was frustrated at these two-faced people who failed to accept their goodwill.

Meanwhile, Carmen made a chuckle at Veronica's action.

"Both of you aren't wrong to have that thought if this was the same kind of previous regular VRMMORPG." She mused and pointed something out. "But don't forget that the NPCs here act and behave just like humans. And what do you think they will do if there's a large monster wave?"

"Well, they obviously would take arms and slaughter those monsters to defend their home," OneManMedia answered instinctively, unaware that he had just solved the so-called crisis.

He soon became enlightened, followed by Veronica.

"Right, our guild has a harmonious relationship with the Adventure Guild. We can just ask them to assist us since this is their home base too." Veronica exclaimed.

Nodding, Carmen stood up and said, "Make sure to send an announcement to the guild that we must prepare for the upcoming crisis to deceive the public that we're doomed."

Since everyone still had a misconception that an invasion against a city meant the end for those who had their base in it, then Carmen would gladly let them believe it.

In the meantime, she was going to retaliate and truly unleash her wrath. She wanted to let the people understand what it means to provoke her guild time and time again.

'The Guild Leader trusted me to handle the affairs, so how could I disappoint him?' She thought to herself, making her way toward the Adventure Guild.

While Carmen held such a plan in mind, the others remained unaware and believed the Vanguard Guild's era was finally over.

"Hahaha, even the Divine World is displeased with them!"

"Serve them right for being so blackhearted and stingy! I can't wait to see the faces of those guild members!"

"Hey, look, isn't that a Vanguard Guild member?"

The crowd on the street laughed at the plight of the Vanguard Guild, mainly because of some anonymous leaker of the news in the Game Forum.

Some people even began targeting the members of the Vanguard Guild openly at Star Falls City.
