Chapter 635: Dwindling
Chapter 635: Dwindling
"Thrash this Vanguard Guild member! I've been wanting to do this since I stepped foot here."
"Yeah, these cocky little bastards think they're some big shot huh. Eat my fist!"
A group of people began to form and thrash those from the Vanguard Guild openly on the street, completely unafraid of the NPC law enforcement.
By the time the NPC law enforcement team arrived, most of them had already escaped, with only a few being caught due to their slow movement speed.
However, as time continued to pass, more and more people rushed to Star Falls City to wreak havoc. It was to the point that it became an organized crime to thrash and kill any players with the Vanguard Guild emblem.

They were all separated into different teams: Killing, Spotting, and Informant.
The Killing Team were those who naturally responded to the actual thrash and kill of the members. Meanwhile, the Spotting Team were those with great perception such as Gunner class to alert the others that they spotted a Vanguard Guild member.
To prevent themselves from becoming a target. Some of the members tried to unequip their guild emblem, but their faces had been memorized already.
So even though it took a bit more effort to identify and spot them, they were still spotted and dealt with by the Killing Team.
As for the Informant Team, they were the people responsible for telling their group to escape as soon as they noticed the NPC law enforcement team was arriving.
Thus, with how organized these groups of people were, as well as their great cooperation, the Vanguard Guild members had been repeatedly PKed.
What made it worse was that these groups of people knew exactly who they could or could not target.
If they spotted it was a higher-up member who was actually skilled like Carmen, they would quickly ditch the area without hesitation.
Those who got unlucky and caught by Carmen naturally ended up in a terrible state, but Carmen was only one person in contrast to those who were wreaking havoc.
Star Falls City, Vanguard Shop
Two days later…
"Are you sure this is the right move, Carmen?" Veronica sighed, her expression extremely bitter.
"We've lost a great deal of profit. Although those troublemakers might not be able to make a mess inside our business, they still have people guarding the entrance. Manager Tracy from the Vanguard Hotel had deployed people to eradicate them, but she couldn't stop them altogether from targeting the renters once they exited a few distance away." She continued, feeling helpless by the situation.
"Mhmm, those people just seemed to appear from out of nowhere." Carmen nodded, seemingly taking the matter very lightly to heart.
Her current attitude even caused Veronica to wonder if she had betrayed the guild.
However, that was impossible, given that she had known Carmen for a long time and it goes against her very principle to betray the people that helped her dearly.
'Did she get possessed by someone?' Veronica then began to ponder such a possibility.
Right at this moment, OneManMedia arrived with terrible news.
"Guys, we just lost around another 400 members. The morale is very low and they're all talking about how the guild is dead once the Guild Leader isn't around." He smiled bitterly and explained.
Ever since someone kept fanning the flame and clamored with the news that the Vanguard Guild was just an empty shell two days ago, it had turned into a spiral downfall.
"Ah, is that so?" Chuckling, Carmen was amused and made sure to note down the members who had left as blacklisted.
Luckily for the feature, these members who left would no longer be accepted into the guild, unless the higher-ups such as her or someone equivalent personally invited them.
"Okay, I've just blacklisted them all, and Xing, please put up a guild announcement. Those who wished to leave are free to do so, but once you do, you will never be accepted back into the guild." She said sweetly, shocking both Veronica and OneManMedia.
Veronica was more shocked that her friend could be that ruthless and decisive, a sharp contrast from the Carmen she had known for a long time.
As for OneManMedia, he was completely stupefied by the request.
'Wasn't this equivalent to a declaration of war?' OneManMedia swallowed a mouthful of saliva. He could already imagine the kind of chaos that was ongoing to erupt even harder.
"Our guild will keep dwindling if we proceed with it, Guild Commander," OneManMedia said solemnly, clearly trying to advise against such an action.
To emphasize the severity, he even addressed her by the guild rank, rather than her in-game name.
The outcome would be catastrophe and he believed only the Guild Leader could make that kind of risky decision. After all, the guild was his so it was up to him to decide.
Meanwhile, Carmen didn't seem to mind the reaction and subtle insubordination from OneManMedia.
"I know you must be worried, but just do as I say." She smiled and suddenly thought of a great method. "Oh, before making the announcement, do a livestream regarding it. I'm sure many are curious, so give them a shock by announcing that we won't do anything to stop the ongoing chaos at the moment as we are busy with something else."
"..."
'Just what is the Guild Commander thinking? And where is the Guild Leader?' OneManMedia cried inwardly, completely unaware of the guild's decision and actions so far.
As OneManMedia gloomily turned around and exited the room, most likely to be prepared for the request, Veronica began asking her motive.
"Carmen, what secret plan are you hiding from me?"
"Nothing," Carmen lightly chuckled. "Just know this is what the Guild Leader told me two days ago."
"Two days ago?" Startled and alarmed, Veronica didn't expect the missing Guild Leader to have been secretly contacting Carmen. "Did the Guild Leader finally finish whatever his task was?"
"Yes, and he's currently cooking up an even greater plot. What I'm doing is merely what he requested so we should just listen without questioning."
