SSS Ranked Reincarnation: Dark Dragon Legacy

Chapter 453 - 453: Cracked skies

The Ice Angel was entirely shocked when he realized that Silva was unharmed. He was certain that the attack had killed, or at the very least, injured him, yet Silva stood there without a single wound.

“Honestly, your attack took a turn I didn’t expect. You are really powerful,” Silva said, then flew up into the air. Googl search novlfire.net

“I had to go out of my way to actually block that.”

Silva looked at him with a soft smile, a mocking light glimmering in his eyes.

The Ice Angel began fuming. His brows creased as he gripped his staff tightly. That last attack was meant to end everything, yet Silva still stood. A cold dread began to form in the angel’s heart, but he refused to yield, not to something from the abyss. His pride and ego wouldn’t allow it.

He readied himself to strike again.

Silva simply shook his head.

“Are you sure you want to keep going? You can clearly see I’m stronger than you, or do I have to put you in the ground first?”

Those words ignited the Ice Angel’s fury. With a powerful flap of his wings, he shot forward like a rocket. His staff slashed downward, releasing a massive arc of ice that tore through the air toward Silva.

Silva only smiled. With one slow, fluid motion, he swung his sword, cutting cleanly through the ice arc, the blade shimmering as the frozen attack split apart harmlessly.

The Ice Angel was stunned, frozen in place.

He stared at Silva in disbelief. Earlier, he had thought Silva was weaker, just another creature from the abyss. Then, mid-battle, he began to sense Silva’s strength. But now, he felt as though he stood before an immovable mountain, something far beyond his comprehension.

Silva floated there silently, a calm smile resting on his face. The Ice Angel could see it clearly, the pride in Silva’s eyes, the quiet mockery of someone who knew he was being looked down upon.

Far in the distance, the other Ice Angels watched the scene unfold, their expressions twisted in shock. Their leader, someone who had crushed countless abyssal creatures of varying strength, was being pushed back again and again. It was unthinkable.

He had always been one of the strongest warriors in the city. Yet now, he stood there, powerless.

When he noticed the looks in his subordinates’ eyes, pity, confusion, disbelief, his pride shattered even further. His frown deepened.

If he was going to fall here, he would make sure he took Silva down with him.

He raised his staff before his face. Cold energy began to surge around him, the air thickening with frost. Ice gathered rapidly, swirling and expanding as it wrapped around both him and the weapon.

His subordinates gasped, realizing what he was about to do.

The Ice Angel spoke, voice low and cold. “I didn’t think I’d have to go this far to defeat you. Brace yourself for what’s about to happen.”

Frost seeped into his body, cold crawling through his veins. Silva watched, a little confused, but he could feel the colossal energy radiating from the Ice Angel. The angel’s skin turned blue, crystalline, and smooth; his eyes slowly opened and glittered like shards of ice.

He slapped his wings once, and a blizzard erupted, winds strong enough to tear cities apart. Space itself seemed to ripple from that single flash of motion. Then he shot forward with near-instantaneous speed, closing the distance in a heartbeat and thrusting his staff straight into Silva’s gut. The staff pierced him and came out the other side so fast that few could follow the movement.

The Ice Angel yanked it free, spun, and slammed Silva on the side of his head. Silva rocketed down into the ice and smashed along the frozen ground for several meters before coming to a stop.

The angel didn’t relent. He dove again with the same impossible speed, driving his staff down toward Silva’s heart, convinced the final blow would finish him. In this form, he felt invincible; in this form, there was no way Silva could survive. He didn’t care that remaining in this crystallized state risked freezing his own heart, so long as Silva died.

But then black flames burst from Silva, raw, violent, and towering into a pillar that punched into the sky. The blast hurled the Ice Angel backward tens of meters. He beat his wings and looked down in shock as the dark inferno rose from Silva’s body.

“How, is he not dead?” the angel muttered, frowning. Silva’s wounds began knitting before his eyes. He pushed himself up, the same calm smile on his face.

“I thought this would be the move to end everything,” Silva said coldly. “But apparently, that was asking too much. I guess I overestimated you. Now, die.”

Silva was about to finally destroy the Ice Angel. He had already seen all he wanted to see, but then there was a loud pop in the sky, like a ball had burst.

Silva turned around to see what happened, and the dark clouds had been ripped apart, a black crack showing in the sky.

“That portal, it looks familiar,” Silva said.

He saw creatures begin to come down from the portal, leaping out in huge numbers, some could fly, others couldn’t.

But from simply looking at them, Silva knew one thing for certain: these were most definitely abyssal monsters.

There was no doubt in his mind; he could feel the abyssal energy, and he could tell from how they looked.

He turned around and looked at the Ice Angels. He saw panic on their faces. He turned again and yelled, “Everyone, get back to the city and prepare for war! The enemy has come!”

They all flew toward the fortress without pause, moving in haste to prepare against the enemy.

Silva stood there watching, a little bit confused and a little bit eager to see how this played out. How would this be part of his exam
