Chapter 454 - 454: Humanoid Abyssal monster
Silva walked toward the horde of abyssal creatures slowly. Could this have been what the Ice Angels were scared of? Were they fighting against the abyss? And was it the same abyss that he had access to? All these questions filled his mind.
He looked at the monsters; they gave off the same energy he knew, they were indeed abyssal monsters. He let out a smile. “Maybe this is the main part of the exam, to protect the future from these creatures.
Sadly, I won’t be able to gather EXP from them unless they have some divine energy in them. I hate this aspect of the system now,” Silva said. He allowed his wings to come out and then watched with a keen eye, waiting for them to get close.
The monsters locked onto the person standing right there, and some came for him, wanting to attack. Silva saw this and smiled. “Be against an army, let’s see how I do,” he said, then flew into the sky before transforming, his full size blocking the sky as he released a massive breath of flames.
This time, the flame carried divine energy, giving it golden hues. It slammed into the first monsters; the heat was so massive it burned them the moment they came in contact with it.
It was as if they were evaporating. The flying monsters saw this and attacked from the air, flying at full speed toward Silva. Silva lifted his head and suddenly used his flames like a whip, whipping through the air. It was powerful and destructive, burning the monsters as they came.
Yet some got through and began attacking, their claws trying to dig through his scales, but they were like steel, and only sparks could be seen as they struck.
Silva, seeing that they were surrounding him, immediately flew higher. His speed was so great that they fell off, unable to keep up at all. He looked down and then released a dragon’s breath so massive it slammed into the ice and spread across the entire field, not allowing a single monster through.
His flames incinerated all of them. He felt that would be how it ended, but then out of nowhere, a black ball of energy ripped through the air. Before he could react, it slammed into his body, cracked his scales, and left a nasty wound.
Silva was stunned. He stopped his attack as pain shot through his entire body. He looked up, and there he spotted the figure that had attacked him, an abyssal creature with a humanoid form.
It was entirely black, with three deep purple eyes and the shape of a human covered in dark fog.
It stared right at Silva. Silva transformed back into his human form. He looked at the creature in the distance and already knew he was going to fight it himself, so he summoned his clones.
Each of them appeared and stretched their hands and bodies as if they hadn’t moved in years.
“Handle the army of abyssal creatures. I’m taking that one over there,” he said. All ten clones nodded, five flew down, and five stayed flying.
The battle immediately started, and it was child’s play for them. They took out the armies one after another so quickly it looked as if they were running AOE attacks.
The humanoid one seemed to understand that it was Silva’s target, so it attacked. It flew forward, its speed like instant teleportation. It appeared and punched. Silva blocked with his sword, and a shockwave exploded out, carrying a force that caused the space to ripple aggressively.
Silva pushed the figure back and went in with a flash, but it dodged the attack easily. He followed up with a flurry of attacks, but it dodged those as well.
Annoyed by this, Silva pulled his sword back and slashed, releasing a massive flame arc. The figure was forced to create a shield of abyssal energy. It blocked the attack but was pushed back.
Silva immediately followed up with an overhead slash. The figure crossed its arms and blocked the attack. It was sent plummeting down into the ice, smashing through it and causing a massive splash, but it flew out instantly with a punch.
Silva blocked the punch but was knocked back far into the sky. He kept going higher while the figure chased after him like a wild beast.
‘This monster is strong. Could it be the one leading the attack against that city? Hmm, at least I get to have a good fight,’ Silva smiled, then gripped his sword. He flapped his wings and stopped himself from moving back.
The moment he stopped, he slashed forward, his sword cutting through the air. The monster punched upward, sword and fist collided, and the explosion that followed leveled small mountains in the distance.
The monster followed up with even more punches left and right, but Silva blocked them, and when he finally got an opening, he attacked. The sword cut through its shoulder diagonally, but rather than feeling like he cut through something, Silva felt like he was being pulled.
He tried to resist it, but the pull kept getting stronger. He frowned. “I guess you want me to go serious.” He roared, and flames exploded from his sword, obliterating half of the monster.
Silva didn’t stop there. With his free hand, the flames wrapped around the sky as he punched before it exploded, destroying what was left of the monster in an instant.
Yet even after that, Silva could still sense that the monster was alive, and it was. Because the next moment, the monster began reforming. It continued until it was fully healed, and then it attacked again, pointing its hands forward. A ball of energy formed and blasted right at Silva.
He blocked the attack with his sword, but the force pushed him back. He struggled to block it, it kept pushing until he finally deflected it, and it shot into the sky before exploding.
