Chapter 3738: Point Of Light

Chapter 3738: Point Of Light

Lu Yin let out a helpless sigh. “Yong Heng exposed the fact that I can Possess other creatures. Those conscients are smart enough to know not to stay in one place for long. I can’t find them even if I tried.

“Now, I’m just curious about where Yong Heng has gone.”

Yong Heng had not appeared even once since the battle in the Willbound Expanse.

He had been wounded by the High Seraph’s Everlasting Will, but Lu Yin did not know how severe his injury was. He had never seen Yong Heng’s true limits, but regardless of what they were, it was impossible for Yong Heng to be wounded to the point where he could no longer take action. The longer he remained hidden, the more unsettled Lu Yin felt.

In Lu Yin’s hand, the fragment of the sword continued to pull in one direction, clearly moving toward a Broken Realm.

The fragment entered the Broken Realm without any hesitation.

It was not a particularly dangerous Broken Realm, as even a Spirit Warrior could easily pass through it.

Lu Yin had assumed that the sword fragment would aim for the meteorite, so it was surprising for it to stop within the Broken Realm.

He exchanged surprised glances with the Origin Progenitor, and both men entered as well.

Before their eyes, the void seemed to distort, as though by an attack. However, it was not an actual attack, but rather part of the scenario repeating in the Broken Realm.

However, the ripples were relatively weak, and they would not even threaten a Spirit Warrior.

Unlike Broken Realms that the two men had previously encountered, where it was possible to avoid being noticed by staying still and quiet, the ripples that they saw affected all who entered this Broken Realm. It was necessary to either dodge the ripples or endure them. There was no other option.

Lu Yin had seen something similar when he had entered the Broken Realm in the ruins of the Celestial Frost Sect in the Daynight clan’s territory. He had nearly died there when the scenario had been a Progenitor’s attack. It was an experience that he remembered quite vividly.

The fragment of the sword came to a stop just to the left of the Broken Realm’s center. Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor moved forward. The fragment was in a place where the void warped and flowed around them like water.

Lu Yin approached and reached out to grab the fragment. For a fleeting instant after he made contact, he thought that he saw something. Was that a tiny spot of light?

“Senior, did you see that?”

The Origin Progenitor looked puzzled. “See what?”

“A speck of light.”

“I didn’t see anything. You did? Where was it?”

Lu Yin stared straight ahead, and then he glanced down at the fragment in his hand. He let it go and then grabbed it again. The moment he touched the fragment, the spot of light reappeared, and it was right in front of him.

“There’s a speck of light twelve feet ahead of us.”

The Origin Progenitor focused on the point that Lu Yin had mentioned, but then he shook his head. “Nothing.”

Lu Yin passed the blade fragment over to the Origin Progenitor, who accepted it. The moment the old man touched the fragment, his eyes went wide. “Yes, I can see it. There’s a point of light.”

He let go of the fragment. “It’s gone again.”

He grabbed the fragment of the sword several more times, but while the point of light appeared sometimes, it did not on other occasions.

“How strange.”

Lu Yin grabbed the fragment, experiencing the same results. There were times when he saw the speck of light, and others when he did not.

“There is certainly a spot of light right here, yet it’s invisible to our eyes alone. What could it be that even we can’t see it? Could it be karma?” the Origin Progenitor speculated.

Lu Yin’s eyes flickered, and his consciousness erupted behind him as he released the Nine Heavens. Heaven’s Blade slashed out as a hand rose with a spiral of karma. There was an unseen impact, and Lu Yin focused intently, but he still saw nothing. This had previously allowed him to see the wall of karma, but it did not reveal the speck of light.

The High Seraph’s Nine Heaven’s Transformation allowed him to become formless and shapeless, avoiding many attacks. It was an impressive defensive ability, but it did not allow the man to avoid all attacks.

In contrast, the point of light was truly formless. It was impossible for Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor to even perceive the light without holding the fragment of the sword.

If not for that shard, they would have never noticed the light.

Why was it necessary to hold the shard to see the light? Just what had they found?

Lu Yin had encountered his fair share of strange phenomena throughout his life. He had mastered an array of powers and abilities that was unrivaled across three megaverses. Even if he was compared to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s Greater Sancti, Lu Yin was confident in his claim that none could match the breadth of his path.

Even so, he was completely baffled by the spot of light.

The shard in his hand was from the shattered Starforged Sword, which had been targeting the meteorite, which likely had no connection to any of the three megaverses or to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. If there was a connection, then Yue Ya and the others would not have reacted as they had.

Could they be connected to creatures from an unknown megaverse?

If that was the case, then how could there be a connection to the speck of light in one of the Consciousness Megaverse’s Broken Realms?

Unable to make sense of the situation, Lu Yin simply reached out for the speck of light.

He grabbed nothing but air.

He could not touch the light.

He held the fragment of the sword and then tried again.

Still nothing.

The Origin Progenitor also tried, for the same result. Even Verdant Eternity proved useless.

Lu Yin released his inner universe and proceeded to try everything he could think of to touch the light, but nothing worked.

This spot of light truly acted like a point, and it seemed completely intangible. It should be possible for those as strong as Lu Yin or the Origin Progenitor to be able to grasp even light. Lu Yin believed that he should be able to seize any power that existed.

Lu Yin held the shard of the blade and tried to poke the light with it.

Contact was finally made. The point of light was pushed by the shard of the sword, and it shot off, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

Lu Yin tried to find the light again, but it had gone too far. He could not see it at all while holding the shard.

At that moment, the Broken Realm that they were in abruptly vanished, moving away like flowing water.

Lu Yin was caught off guard. “The Broken Realm disappeared? No... it’s moving.”

The Origin Progenitor nodded. “The Broken Realm moved. What did you do?”

“I just touched the light with the piece of the blade,” Lu Yin replied.

The Origin Progenitor started thinking. “Could the Broken Realm have been formed by that spot of light?”

Lu Yin looked down at the shard in his hand and then back at the distant Broken Realm. Could that really be the case?

“Let’s keep testing things.”

...

Emperor Slayer and Jiu Xian returned to the boundary of the Consciousness Megaverse yet again.

The Starforged Sword’s appearance had forced them to return, but they were well aware that the waters of the Consciousness Megaverse were growing increasingly cloudy. With even incomprehensible entities like the Starforged Sword appearing, the two were more desperate than ever to escape from the megaverse.

They acted in perfect sync. The moment they spotted the gate, they both attacked. They were determined to break through.

At that exact same moment, another powerful force surged towards the gate. It was a tsunami of consciousness that originated from Old Chief and Shuangdao. They were also trying to leave the Consciousness Megaverse.𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

They were conscients, and this was supposed to be their megaverse. However, one incredible powerhouse after another had appeared, which had forced them to abandon it. If they refused to leave the Consciousness Megaverse soon, they were afraid that they would either end up killed, or worse, devoured.

The Starforged Sword, Yue Ya, Ruler Garden, the meteorite, and Lu Yin. There were far too many threats in the Consciousness Megaverse.

The two coordinated attacks struck at the same time. There were only three Dukkhans guarding the gate, which was not nearly enough to hold the line. Old Chief’s consciousness surged, clearly surpassing the power of Emperor Slayer and Jiu Xian.

The cultivators guarding the gate instinctively moved closer to Emperor Slayer and Jiu Xian. Their only options were to retreat away from the gate or press forward.

The gate had been shattered, and increasingly powerful figures had been arriving from the Aevum Inch. The boundary’s guardians therefore preferred to stay in the Consciousness Megaverse.

None of them could understand Emperor Slayer’s mental state without also experiencing the true desperation that he had suffered while in the Consciousness Megaverse.

The beast cursed under his breath, “Idiots.”

He roared, “Go!”

The three Dukkhans and several Ortusers faced Emperor Slayer and Jiu Xian. Neither side was determined to fight to the death, especially since one Dukkhan was from Ruler Garden with no interest in going all-out against Emperor Slayer.

The two groups brushed past each other while exchanging only a few blows.

Even so, those few exchanges were already enough for Old Chief and the conscients to take the lead and pass through the shattered gate. Old Chief and Shuangdao both looked back at Emperor Slayer and Jiu Xian and then exchanged a glance. Suddenly, two waves of consciousness were released together: Endless Path.

Endless Path might not be an attack, but it was incredibly effective against creatures whose consciousnesses were weaker than the ones using the technique.

Blackless God had once succeeded in using it to delay a number of powerhouses, including Lu Yin. There was no need to mention how effective Old Chief and Shuangdao were when working together.

The two conscients had no intention of allowing any humans to trace their movements.

Still, neither Emperor Slayer nor Jiu Xian were easy opponents. They had both repeatedly fought in the Consciousness Megaverse, and they were familiar with Endless Path.

The moment that Emperor Slayer saw Endless Path activate, the beast dodged with Horizon’s Mirror.

Unfortunately, Old Chief’s consciousness had already flooded the universe, and it slammed down before the transcended sequence could take full effect.

Emperor Slayer was incapable of withstanding even Shuangdao’s consciousness, let alone Old Chief’s.

The ancient conscient’s consciousness directly struck Emperor Slayer and nearly left him unconscious.

A stick of bamboo zipped past Emperor Slayer, piercing his Horizon’s Mirror before vanishing.

With the Endless Path in place, Old Chief and Shuangdao turned to leave. As long as they could delay the humans’ pursuit, their destination would remain unknown. That would give them enough time to escape to either the Spirit Nidus or the Tianyuan Megaverse.

Their first choice was the Spirit Nidus. There were already many conscients there, including Bu Wen, one of the Thirteen Luminaries. Hiding in a parallel universe would make it difficult for even the High Seraph to find the two conscients.

First, they needed to leave some evidence that suggested they were headed for the Tianyuan Megaverse, diverting any pursuers’ attention. That was also a part of their strategy to buy themselves time.

Just as Old Chief and Shuangdao were about to exit the Consciousness Megaverse, the stick of bamboo that had taken advantage of Horizon’s Mirror shot past the two conscients and entered the Aevum Inch before them. They watched as Jiu Xian materialized there and were stunned as she brought her hands together. “Awe Gate.”

A massive gate slammed shut with terrifying force. It was nearly the same size as the gate that had previously stood at the megaverse’s boundary.

Old Chief and Shuangdao stared at the gate in a daze. Where had it come from? Was this a battle technique?

Emperor Slayer also saw the gate. While the Endless Path had prevented him from approaching the boundary, he was able to watch everything that happened there.

He cursed furiously, “Jiu Xian, you despicable rat! You used my own power to leave me behind? Despicable! Shameless! Immoral...”

Past the Awe Gate, Jiu Xian did not hesitate for even a moment as she simply turned around and left. She moved straight for the nearest springboard, which was not far away.

She glanced back at the gate, knowing that it would not last long. All she wanted was to escape before chaos descended. No matter how the three megaverses fought, their conflict had nothing to do with her. She refused to bring trouble to Lesser Sancte Dan Jin.

As for Emperor Slayer, Jiu Xian felt a bit bad, but the beast was simply bad luck.

There was a thunderous crash that caused the Awe Gate to tremble. Shuangdao had slashed at the gate, and it would not endure for long.

Old Chief raised a hand and slammed it down, shattering the Awe Gate.

Emperor Slayer frantically raced for the gate, but the consciousness technique still prevented him from closing any distance. These conscients are also completely immoral!

Just as Awe Gate started to shatter, dark-gold manifested thought spread past the stars. Yue Ya had arrived.

His arrival matched the exact moment that the gate collapsed.

Manifested thought dropped down like a tornado. Yue Ya appeared as a drifting cloud, and he muttered in surprise, “An Awe Gate? For them to stall even you two... what formidable power. Who did it?”

Old Chief and Shuangdao were both extremely wary. As far as they were concerned, everyone in the Consciousness Megaverse who was not a conscient was their enemy.

Emperor Slayer was quick-witted, and he immediately shouted, “Jiu Xian! It was Jiu Xian who used it!”

“Jiu Xian? That’s reasonable, especially since there’s no one else nearby. Has she left the Consciousness Megaverse? It seems she doesn’t want to get involved. That’s also fine,” Yue Ya continued to mutter.

His cloud form then slowly turned, apparently to face Old Chief and Shuangdao. “You’ve helped me before.”
