Chapter 3892: Welcome, Mr. Lu
Chapter 3892: Welcome, Mr. Lu
Jing Lian was allowed to meet with Venerable Lan Ye, and the two stayed together for half a day. After Jing Lian left, Venerable Lan Ye mumbled to himself, “So he really is backed by the Sea of Karma? No wonder the Greater Sancti have done nothing, despite the chaos that he’s caused in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Now, even Jing Lian speaks up for him. Is he worried that I will make trouble for him after my breakthrough to the Immortal realm? No wonder he was so eager to find me.”
As he thought back to his battle with the man, it took Venerable Lan Ye a long time to calm his mind again.
There were some people whom not even Immortals could touch.
In the West Domain, Lu Yin was quickly approaching the Mother Tree and the skyswings.
He took out his communication device and called Lu Siyu.
The young woman’s face soon appeared, her bright eyes blinking at Lu Yin. “Have you completed Second Sister’s task?”
“Mhmm. Thank you.”
“Huh? Why are you thanking me?”
Lu Yin replied, “Finding the most beautiful sight sounds like the easiest task, and yet it’s the actually hardest to complete. I know that you spoke to her for me.”
Lu Siyu blushed. “No, I didn’t say anything. Sixth Sister was the one who said something. She used her task to force you to stop trying to get the Fifth Night Pillar to join the expedition, which was unfair to you. Because of that, she spoke to Second Sister for you. Also, Second Sister never intended to make things difficult for you.”
“I know.” Lu Yin stared at Lu Siyu.
Lu Siyu’s face flushed a bright red that only deepened when she noticed Lu Yin’s continuous stare. “You- What are you looking at?”
“I know.” Lu Yin stared at Lu Siyu.
“You don’t know anything! I can’t even call them. I wait for them to call me.”
Lu Yin nodded. “I can’t do any more tasks for some time. I’ll be leaving for a while.”
Lu Siyu grew confused. “Leaving?”
Her eyes suddenly flared. “With the Seventh Night Pillar?”
Lu Yin was surprised. “You know about that?”
Lu Siyu nodded. “Old Lu already went to the Seventh Night Pillar. You get to watch the Orchid Megaverse be reset, don’t you? How did you manage to get a place? I heard that there were extremely limited slots this time, and very few people were even informed about it.”
Lu Yin smiled. “I have great foresight.”
Lu Siyu rolled her eyes and muttered, “Braggart.”
With the conversation over, Lu Yin put the communication device away and then considered how Greater Sancte Green Lotus had once mentioned that the Seven Fairies were all great. Lu Yin had not initially thought much of that comment, and he had assumed that Greater Sancte Green Lotus had merely been praising his disciples. But in hindsight, things were likely not nearly that simple. Even so, no matter how he looked at things, he could not see anything special about Lu Siyu.
Given his current strength, if he was unable to see something, it was almost certain that it did not exist.
In fact, Lu Siyu was not the only one. Lu Yin had also met Ming Xiaolong, Qiunan Hongye, and Jue Qing.
He stopped thinking about the matter, as he had already arrived at the skyswings.
Once again, Lu Yin’s arrival created quite a commotion. The person in charge kicked the Morrow Behemoth awake before smiling at Lu Yin and inviting him onto the mountain. With its immense strength, the Morrow Behemoth flung the mountain away.
They traveled from the West Domain to the East Domain, following the same route that Lu Yin had used before.
When he saw the huge Seventh Night Pillar appear in the distance, he could not help but get lost in his own thoughts. He was about to return to the Aevum Inch.
In the Tianyuan Megaverse, only Boundless and the Ossis Ark had been capable of entering the Aevum Inch, though the Ossis Ark had already been destroyed.
As for the Spirit Nidus, while they had universe-class battleships, there were only a few of them, and they were only capable of reaching the Consciousness Megaverse or the Tianyuan.
The Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s Night Pillars were different. They did not seem to have fixed routes and were instead able to go wherever a foreign megaverse was located.
These Night Pillars were a true way to explore the vast and endless Aevum Inch.
Whenever a Night Pillar left, there was a risk of it never returning. No journey followed a fixed path.
As more people arrived, the Seventh Night Pillar grew increasingly lively.
From time to time, fights would break out, but as long as they were not serious, Gu Duanke did not interfere. After all, the Nine Odysseys were intended for war.
Si Jiushi was taught a lesson by Luo Ning.
The fat man spoke without restraint, and he had mentioned how the Autumnspring Slip had been destroyed before mentioning how one faction after another had been taught a lesson. Along the way, he had casually dragged the Skyward Gate into things. Of course, Si Jiushi’s words had been overheard, and his comment had reached Luo Ning. The young man had not been happy to hear it. Recently, he had been feeling stifled, and Si Jiushi’s endless chatter had immediately sparked Luo Ning’s anger.
The two ended up fighting a fierce battle.
While both were peak powerhouses, it was impossible for Si Jiushi to ever be Luo Ning’s match. Luo Ning was a prodigy who belonged to the Scion Spire, and while the two men looked to be roughly the same age, there was a drastic difference in their statuses, and their talent for cultivation were also worlds apart.
Si Jiushi knew he could not defeat Luo Ning, and thus had tried to flee. He knew that he was the one at fault, but when he had heard Luo Ning repeatedly call him “grandson,” Si Jiushi had been triggered. Taking advantage of his durability, Si Jiushi had managed to fight back, and had even taken three hits. He had fought fiercely, though it had quickly become clear to everyone that Luo Ning had been holding back. If not, he would have quickly struck Si Jiushi down.
Regardless of what the fat man might have said, everyone knew about his relationship with Lu Yin, and because of that, Luo Ning did not dare to attack too viciously.
Wan Lou, standing with Ming Xiaochou, sighed. “Young people have such volatile tempers. Xiaochou, don’t learn from your younger sister. Her temper is even worse than these two.”
Ming Xiaochou pouted. “Why don’t you say that in front of her?”
Far away, the ground started to shake as green and red lights clashed in the sky once again. It was Jing Lian and Wei Heng. The two had always disliked each other. Blood Tower’s disciples focused on combat, while Green Lotus’s disciples were more scholarly. Neither could stand the other. There were times when Awe Gate’s disciples would intervene, but the rivalry between the three Immortals’ disciples was nothing that outsiders could interfere with.
Gu Duanke had already needed to get involved multiple times, and he truly did not want to do so again. It was too troublesome.
“Senior Brothers, we are at the Seventh Night Pillar, and you need to show respect to the master of this place. Senior Gu Duanke is already quite upset.” A soft voice called out, and both the green and red lights instantly vanished.
Jing Lian laughed. “Ah, it’s you, young lady. Since you’re the one asking, I’ll show this brute a bit of face. I hope that we haven’t disturbed you.”
There was a frigid expression on Wei Heng’s face, but as soon as he looked at Qing Yun, his expression softened. “My apologies.”
Qing Yun smiled at the two, and then she glanced at Si Jiushi and Luo Ning, who also immediately stopped fighting.
There had been far more than just those two fights across the entire Seventh Night Pillar, and yet every last one of them stopped as Qing Yun's gaze wandered about. Everyone addressed her politely, with smiles plastered across their faces.
Granny Yin commented, “A single comment from you, Young Lady, is more useful than an entire speech from Gu Duanke.”
Qing Yun replied, “Don’t say such things, Granny. Senior Gu Duanke simply cares too much for his juniors.”
Yin Po chuckled. “You’re right, I misspoke. Ah, I remember when I once boarded a Night Pillar and witnessed a megaverse’s reset. Time has flown by since then, and hardly any of my old friends remain. Now, it’s so nice to see young people who are so full of energy. These ones are all well-behaved, much better than that Lu Yin. That boy is just too shameless!”
The more she spoke, the angrier Granny Yin became. “That boy wouldn’t let go of your hand, Young Lady! He even told me to keep to myself! Despicable!”
Qing Yun just showed a small smile as she thought back to her interactions with Lu Yin. Despite his rude behavior, she had not been able to get angry at him. He was... quite the interesting person.
A short distance behind the two stood another woman. There was a strange expression on her face as she silently listened to the conversation between Qing Yun and Granny Yin. Lu Yin... is really quite famous. Just what has he done here?
That woman was Jiu Xian, who had only recently returned to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. She had not learned much about what Lu Yin had done during his time in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, but from the few things that she had recently overheard, she was absolutely stunned. His actions had been earth-shattering, and he had behaved far more outrageously than he had in the Spirit Nidus.
“Young Lady, you have a good heart, even inviting him to the Frightened Sparrow Terrace. In my opinion, you shouldn’t even have to look at that boy! He’s completely different from these young men here, who are polite, well-behaved, and handsome,” Granny Yin continued.
Qing Yun sighed. “Granny, you’re much too biased against him.”
Granny Yin rolled her eyes, but just as she was about to reply, Gu Duanke’s voice echoed across the Seventh Night Pillar. “Welcome to the Seventh Night Pillar, Mr. Lu.”
After Gu Duanke’s voice rang out, most people on the Seventh Night Pillar did not immediately react. Mr. Lu? Why would the Odyssey Commander welcome him like this?
However, there was a small group of people whose expressions changed instantly.
Si Jiushi was dumbfounded. No way, Mr. Lu? Which Mr. Lu? That Mr. Lu?
Who else but that Mr. Lu could warrant such a welcome from Gu Duanke? Why is he everywhere? This is the worst luck!
Luo Ning peered into the distance. He can come along? Why? He’s from the Tianyuan Megaverse, and there are such a limited number of places to witness the Orchid Megaverse’s reset. Only a few people from even the Nine Odysseys Megaverse are able to go.
Lu Sizhan was left speechless. I’m running into him again?
The truth was that, while Lu Yin had enabled Lu Sizhan to enter Dukkha, the older man did not want to interact with Lu Yin much, if at all possible. He always had a strange sense of being dragged into something.
Additionally, there were odd expressions of the faces of Wan Lou, Jiu Xian, and Ru Guo.
In particular, Granny Yin, who had just been badmouthing Lu Yin as his arrival was announced, felt as though everything she had said had been overheard by the man himself. How awkward.
“Young Lady, let’s go. We should stay far away. This is really terrible luck.”
Qing Yun gave the old woman a small smile. “Granny, you’re far too prejudiced against him.”
Granny Yin did not want to discuss the matter anymore, and she dragged Qing Yun away. The Seventh Night Pillar is massive, so unless that boy intentionally searches the entire place, there’s almost no chance of our paths crossing. “Jiu Xian, you should also hide. That boy takes advantage of people far too easily.”
Even if Granny Yin had not said a thing, Jiu Xian still would have made sure to hide. She remembered what had happened in the Spirit Nidus, and she knew that Lu Yin could create chaos with just the flip of his hand. He had succeeded in doing so even without an impressive cultivation, so after hearing just how powerful the man had become, Jiu Xian knew that she absolutely could not provoke Lu Yin.
“By the way.” Granny Yin suddenly remembered something. She looked up and sent a message to Gu Duanke alone. “Old man, don’t mention that the young lady and I are here. Also, make it a point to remind that Lu boy not to casually invade others’ privacy. Make sure to warn him.”
Gu Duanke grew puzzled, but not because of Granny Yin’s message. Rather, it was because, at the same time, many people across the Seventh Night Pillar had asked the Odyssey Commander to help them conceal themselves.
Just what has Mr. Lu done to cause so many people to dislike him?
The entire Seventh Night Pillar fell silent. Nearly one-fifth of the cultivators who had been invited to join the Seventh Night Pillar to the Orchid Megaverse hid themselves. Most of these people had never interacted with Lu Yin, but because of various rumors, they were wary of him. On top of that, witnessing a megaverse’s reset was a rare experience for cultivators. It could serve as both a form of cultivation and a chance to avoid being disturbed, and it could even offer a chance to remain hidden for some time.
Even without Lu Yin’s arrival, everyone accompanying the Seventh Night Pillar would automatically avoid others during the journey. His arrival merely accelerated the process.
When Lu Yin arrived at the Seventh Night Pillar, the aura of bloodlust was much stronger than what he had sensed at the Sixth Night Pillar. There was a sense of a sword that had just returned from the battlefield, blood staining its edge with a scarlet light.
The people who belonged to the Seventh Night Pillar also appeared to be more ruthless than those who belonged to the Sixth Night Pillar.
After the Sixth Night Pillar was cut, a very long time had passed without it returning to the Aevum Inch.
On the other hand, the entire Seventh Night Pillar carried a unique aura that did not belong to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. It was the aura of a foreign megaverse, and it lingered even after it had spent more than a decade in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.
