Chapter 1080: Future Family
Chapter 1080: Future Family
“How about this place?” Vivian asked while pointing at the mountain before her.
“Hmm?” Nathan crossed his arms, examining the mountain carefully.
“There are two mountains in the area. The land is fertile and the air is fresh. What I’m thinking is not just about the domain, but the entire territory.”
Nathan squinted his eyes. “The entire territory… Do you mean for family?”
“Yes. You can focus on your domain first, but territory is different. Although the city we’ve built is recognized to be the first city of this land as well as the face of this land, your family will be different.”
While looking down, Nathan recounted some stories he once read about family. The family wasn’t a small one. It was the biggest or the strongest clan.
In those stories, the clans had been portrayed as an influence that controlled a large area. The main family alone had a massive area for housing, training, and other things.
It was basically similar to what the Ashton family had built, but the scale was different. On the other hand, Nathan wanted to create a small but elite family. There was no need to be flashy, but it would work like a hidden family.
’Well, if I have to use the more popular terms on Earth, I would rather become a Rothschild than a Walton.
’Then again, I read some manhwas as well, especially about chaebol. In those stories, the chaebol were strong. They had a connection with the government. With just a single call, they could call numerous important people.’
Although he had already figured out that he wanted a small but elite family, he hadn’t thought about its structure. Would he want an elite family that could control even the government? Would he become a hidden family that was the source of a conspiracy that controlled the world from the shadows? Or would he become a huge family on the surface and just stay away from politics?
His original goal was the last one, but his girls were different. In addition, even if he stayed away from politics, it didn’t mean the others would let him do that.
Even the Pope told him bluntly that he might end up becoming a villain or that people would politically mark him as a villain like Elysion Aquamoon.
That was why the form of his family had to be considered thoroughly. It would also pose a problem for successors later on.
As expected, there was no way he could find the answer right away. Still, one thing was clear. It couldn’t happen unless he had this land.
No matter what family he wanted to build, he needed the foundation to build it. And this place might be able to become the very foundation.
After putting in some thoughts, Nathan nodded his head. “In that case, we can use this mountain as the pillar. As for expansion, we can deal with it in the future.”
“Fair point.”
Selena, Noelle, and Flora were familiar with nobility, Sera and Alavenya might not be that familiar, but they also held great status. Even Evelyn was once the daughter of a marquis.
Hence, all of them were very familiar with the foundation of the family, unlike him, who knew about it from stories on the Internet.
“Still, this mountain is going to be quite spacious.” Nathan crossed his arms. “And planting a world tree on top of a mountain looks weird.”
“In that case, we should set it up on the back of this mountain. There should be quite vast land there.”
Evelyn snapped her fingers, teleporting them to the forest behind the mountain.
As Vivian said, there was indeed a vast forest with two mountains, one in the south and one in the east. The west side of this mountain was a grassland, while the north side of this forest had meadows.
’Creating the world tree in this forest, then building the settlement in one of the mountains, it might not be that bad of an idea.
’Besides, the aliens are coming from the south, which is protected by the mountain. If I create our family there, it can serve as a natural fortress from the aliens.’
Nathan nodded with a serious expression. “In that case, let’s use this place.”
“Finally done.” Bella stretched her body. “To think searching for the land alone will take more than three days even with Evelyn teleporting us.”
“It can’t be helped.” Nathan shrugged.
Evelyn glanced at Nathan. “It looks like you don’t choose an area just because it’s suitable. What are you worrying about?”
“Well, the domain has to be near my home, right?”
“Not necessarily. With the addition of the teleportation magic circle, there’s no need to be close.” She shook her head.
“…” Nathan smiled wryly. He definitely worried not just about his family but about his dreams. Yes, in his dreams, there were countless aliens coming.
Although he believed he could make a difference, he didn’t know how bad the situation would become.
Turning this place into a fortress would be good even for him.
“Then, we probably need money. Maybe we shouldn’t have donated those magic weapons and cloud-repelling devices so easily.” Vivian sighed.
“Hahaha. That’s fine. It will be a bit lonely if we live in this world alone. Humans are social creatures after all.” Nathan shrugged. “Besides, I have several ideas on how to make money.”
“If you say so. Then should we begin with the contract right now?” Vivian agreed with a long face.
“Yeah. I don’t know if we have enough ena or not.” Nathan took out the magical crystal that stored the ena. Vivian had charged it with everything they had, but it was still only 400,000 ena. That was what they had left.
To gain a territory from the world itself, he believed he needed more ena. Either way, his top priority was to find out whether gaining land would be possible or not.
Since Evelyn had told Bella about how he had saved her, there was no point in hiding it anymore. There were only Bella, Evelyn, and Vivian here anyway, so there was no risk of his secret being spread.
“With the contract as the core, Nathan will pay 200,000 ena to receive the ownership of this forest, with the area of 5×4 km (3.1×2.5 miles) for 100 years.”
