Chapter 1303: Space Training
Chapter 1303: Space Training
Nathan closed his eyes.
“Sense the void around you. The void will move differently with a different thing. You may have been using teleportation carefully, but whenever there’s an object, the void will automatically reject your teleportation.
“But if you can sense the void, you will be able to figure out what is actually going on. You will know why you are unable to teleport.”
Nathan could sense the void. It felt like he was standing at the bottom of the ocean. It was so dark that he couldn’t see anything, but the small movement caused a slight vibration in the void.
Although it was a bit hard because this was his first time, he could feel the shape of something. He might not be able to see it like he sees it with his own eyes, but he could sense the basic shape and tell whether it was a human or an object.
“I can see it.” Nathan nodded. “Sense is probably the more accurate word.”
“Indeed. By spreading this in all directions, you will be able to sense the whole city or even more.”
“Wait. Doesn’t this feel like the sensory-type summoner?” Nathan asked.
“Maybe, but there was no such thing on Gratzel.” She shrugged. “Anyway, this Spatial Sense will be good for short-range teleportation and other things. You can even make sure you can’t be ambushed by using it naturally. The more you master this technique, the further you can sense.
“Right now, my range is about 14 km. But I will teach you the way to teleport even further than that.”
“What do you mean?” Nathan tilted his head.
“Your sense is half-sphere. You are able to sense everything around you, but try to focus your senses in one direction.”
Nathan followed his instructions. Unsurprisingly, his senses seemed to be undergoing a change. “It becomes longer… No, it changes its shape.”
Nathan suddenly fell silent. He had read something like this before. It was from the same story where his ’Absolute Ice’ came from.
At that time, the protagonist focused everything in one direction. If he had a radius like hers, he might be able to sense something 100 km away.
But Nathan thought about something even more advanced. “Now that I think about it, how thin can you stretch this?”
“Thin? I don’t know what you mean, but you just stretch it depending on your needs.”
“No, that’s not what I mean.” Nathan shook his head. “For a mental ability, like an illusion, you can wield it like a domain, but you can also make it as thin as a needle so that the opponent won’t notice that energy when it flows into their brain, right?
“So, do you think I can make it as thin as a needle and just make it big at the tip? Won’t this allow me to see a city far away?”
“That’s…” Evelyn looked down, contemplating. “I have never tried it before… Give me a moment.”
Evelyn actually tested it personally. She tried to make it as thin as possible, but surprisingly, as long as it didn’t get cut, she could still move it.
It might not be as thin as a needle because even with her micro control, it was still too hard to produce such a thin connection, she might be able to use this to scout further away.
“You will definitely need a lot of control for this, especially the micro control. However, the concept is actually possible…” Evelyn was shocked this time. She thought about teaching him something, but Nathan ended up being the one teaching her a new thing.
“It will be better if your spatial sense can reach that place before you teleport, but with this technique, it might be possible. In fact, I might even be able to teleport from Erendtall to Gratzel. Not with my current power, but if I get stronger, it is actually possible.”
“Isn’t that good?” Nathan smiled. He had been trying as well, but it was easier said than done. It looked like he would need to take his time to master it.
Besides, his power was space and time. The time element couldn’t help him with the Spatial Sense, so it would be harder for him to master this technique compared to Evelyn.
Of course, the same applied to Evelyn. Even if he taught her Space-Time Lock, it would be impossible for her to master it. They simply had their own way of using the space element.
“In any case, it looks like you have understood the Spatial Sense. I will continue to the Space Manipulation. It is as simple as using your ena to cause a ripple in the void. This kind of training will become the foundation for the other techniques.
“You can start by causing a ripple around you and gradually move further and further away.”
Nathan tried it. The ripple was easy to make, but it was a different question if he had to do it further away. If he created a ripple further away, it would be a ripple that came from his body and flowed all the way there.
However, Space Manipulation required him to cause a ripple with that point as the epicenter, not his body.
“This is… harder than it sounds.” Nathan frowned.
“It looks like you have no problem having a 1-meter gap. You can probably increase it further.” Evelyn nodded. “The principle itself is simple, especially once you can use Spatial Sense. These two are the things you need to practice on a daily basis.”
“I understand.” Nathan nodded.
“In that case, let’s continue to the third technique, shall we? Distortion Wave.” Evelyn raised her right hand. The space element fluctuated around her, but the way it fluctuated was different from the time when Nathan first showed her that he had acquired the space element.
It was flowing in a single direction instead of all directions. It was as if she were able to control the flow of the void itself.
“Hmm?”
“From here on out, the difficulty will increase. Are you ready?”
