The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1795: Lonely Darkness

Chapter 1795: Lonely Darkness

“I am the Royal Black Prince,” Rex’s voice thundered—sweeping across the area with power. “I am the one who inherited the power of the Dark Moon. The Blood Moon and Honey Moon also supported me, and you would do well to obey me as your Alpha.”

Before him are more than a dozen writhing shadows in an almost prostrating position.

Their tails were lowered in submission.

None of them dared to meet his gaze. Not because they were weak, but because of hierarchy and purity.

It has been a day since Ignatius.

Rex needed to swell the number of his pack members to battle the empire, and also complete the second Race Evolution Quest. He tracked down the Shade Crawlers. He sensed their scents—near the Tomb of Heroes, and that’s all a werewolf needs to track anyone down.

Even in the Black Rift, they can’t hide from him.

But he found them grouping up not too far away from his position.

He was thrown far from the Blood Moon-empowered slash from Empress Morgana, but these Shade Crawlers were at most five miles away from where he was. They weren’t hiding, but waiting, so it was apparent that they wanted to be found.

Now, all bowed to him.

Being stranded in the Spirit Realm meant they weren’t aware of the werewolf’s situation back home.

Don’t know that he’s branded a fake werewolf by others.

Don’t know he has defeated and mocked the royals.

Don’t know that their race was now under his and his empire’s mercy.

Perhaps they don’t even know their Origin is already long gone, and the rest of them were sealed away.

It was the new era now, but it might still be the ancient era for them.

Flashing his curving horns and displaying his Alpha aura was all it took for the Shade Crawlers to bend to his will. Some of them are incredibly strong, even their Shaman, Varya, a seven-hundred-year-old werewolf in Mortal Realm time, is almost as strong as him.

Not definitively, but her spiritual points are double that of Rex.

Considering their numbers and power, they could resist.

But their traditional minds made it easy for Rex to claim them and turn most into Silverstars.

He turned ten of the strongest Shade Crawlers, including Varya, into Silverstars—and settled them into the Outer Pack, but he doesn’t allow them to have a human form. They are obedient as they are, and he didn’t want to spark something by shapeshifting their bodies.

Rex felt a strain inside his body from turning these Shade Crawlers.

It wasn’t the first time he rapidly swelled the pack.

But back then, he was only turning Voidal Knights, a lot weaker than him.

As for the Shade Crawlers, most of them are almost as strong as he was before he got the Blood Moon Echo. Incredibly strong. And the strain from turning them is undeniable, so Rex can only be content with turning ten of them.

“What is your answer, Varya?” Rex looked down at her.

She was right before him, and she wasn’t prostrating like the others, but kneeling.

Not because she thought herself higher than the others, but because of her back.

A mutation occurred there, which prevented her from bending forward easily; this was the best posture she could muster to tell Rex that she would obey. “I am simply keeping order, Your Highness. Now that you’re here, it’s natural for me to step back.”

“Good,” Rex nodded and gently caressed her head with his hand. “Now, it’s time for work.”

“What is your order?” She allowed herself to look up when Rex’s fingers pulled her by the chin.

“I need you to locate someone,” Rex said, eyes glistening with purposeful intent. “And secure the path towards it. Bring the Ten with you. I learned your mutations are compatible with tracking, so I want the result in a day or less. Can you do that?”

“Easily,” Varya nodded confidently.

For countless years, the Black Rift has been her and her Shade Crawlers’ home. They have scoured the entire continent and beyond, probably, so the surface of the continent is familiar to them. A clear map in their mind.

It was how they could survive all this time without any increase in their numbers.

“Also, call the others here,” Rex continued as he turned and walked away. “I want them all here.”

Of course, these lots of Shade Crawlers aren’t the whole of them.

There are still about two to three dozen of them scattered throughout the Solmara Continent, and they needed time to reach where they were. Not a lot compared to the number an empire would have as disposable fodder, but their strengths were all equal to that of a general, a Baron, or perhaps a Marquis.

Looking at them from that angle, Rex already has a commendable army.

But there’s still the Spirit Emperor.

A voice echoed inside his mind as he separated from the Shade Crawlers for a moment.

It was Mira reporting about the situation.

Rex’s lips sliced upward into a devious smile as he listened to her report.

Empress Morgana was missing, probably scared that her identity had been found. Princess Davina, along with her forces were searching for him, desperately, if quoting exactly from what Mira said. She was supposed to be helped by the royal knights, using the bubbles across the empire to pulsate with life energy like a radar to locate him.

The Royal Knights never came to her aid.

The Spirit Emperor declared that the Empress is misunderstood and issued orders to kill the usurper on sight. Many would question his decision, without a doubt, but Rex frankly didn’t care. He knew that this was going to happen.

He’s a nobody in this realm.

Simply a usurper from the Mortal Realm.

Empress Morgana, on the other hand, despite her faults, her tricks, is still native to this realm.

Some nobles like Duke Lorcan would probably question the emperor’s decision, but in the end, all of the people of the empire would look at him and instantly side with their beloved, loving emperor. It’s simply how it works.

But the mind of the people can change.

Rex has an empire of his own in the Mortal Realm, and though this realm is stronger, the behavior of the people isn’t that much different. But Emperor Dominar is arrogant to think that he’s helpless after the battle with the Archangel of Knives and the Empress.

And Rex is going to make him regret that.

Once he sent out the Shade Crawlers to do his bidding, he sat inside a cave right beside a two-hundred-foot drop. It was Varya’s home, the place where she resided for hundreds of years. Every single Shade Crawler needed her.

Finding food is one thing, but they also needed her for morale support.

No Lunas in this realm. All Alphas.

Varya said the Lunas that also stranded with them couldn’t adapt as well as the Alphas.

It was the same for the Betas, so that’s how they ended up in this paradigm.

Despite being more adapted to not needing a Luna to function, the Shade Crawlers still needed an outlet, a place to charge their weary minds. It was one of the first problems the Shade Crawlers faced when they were stranded in this realm.

Through forced mutations, Varya went through pain to force her body to adapt faster.

Going through that process almost killed her, but she survived.

And now, her scent and energy carry a similar tone to the Lunas, which makes her some sort of a mother-figure for the Shade Crawlers, singing them a lullaby to help their will unbroken, whispering to them that one day, the Origin would come and save them.

They want to go home, that’s why they were waiting for me.

Rex traced his fingers across the distorted rune carved on the wall.

He was knowledgeable about runes himself because of the System, and he could tell that the rune Varya carved inside this cave was a defect. It was weaker. Her mind must have been failing her against time, and it reduced the quality of her runes.

Sad and pitiful if Rex thinks about it.

Werewolves who were stranded in the Spirit Realm, and now the memories of their home are blurry.

I’ll take them back. Shouldn’t be a problem.

Rex was now at the heart of the Black Rift. He didn’t know how much time had passed without asking the System, but it should be a few days. Most of the time, he spent meditating, allowing the essence and power he got from the Archangel of Knives to mend his soul and body.

<Fiber of the Unbound Titan>

<Bonus: +2,000,000 Strength, 1,500,000 Endurance, and 500,000 Agility>

After asking a favor from Ignatius, he also obtained this.

It was some sort of blessing that healed his stamina as well as strengthened his body.

His muscles were now charged with the power of a Titan.

To think that a touch from Ignatius gave him four million stat points is insane to think about, but that only shows the disparity between them. He’s a Scion, a Blank, and a Werewolf, but he’s still nothing in front of Ignatius.

Now he understands that Kei Xun wasn’t joking when she referred to him as a baby.

Compared to that monstrous being, he is.

In the darkness of the cave and his closed eyelids, his senses were heightened to the limit.

And it felt like he wasn’t alone.

His eyelids twitched when he felt the combing of Gistella’s hand. Her long and soft fingers ran through his thick black hair, and then squeezed at the back like she was pulling out all the burden and negativity inside his head.

Everything about that woman is soft and gentle, one that his hard surface longed for.

Then came the dewy scent that made him inhale sharply.

Adhara’s sharp lips pressed against his hard, forceful, strong, like she wanted to devour him and keep him for herself. Other than when she was being careful, she always put too much strength into anything, like she wanted to match him.

Perhaps because of her rough upbringing that made her fiery.

Her Father is unforgiving, which was probably best for her to be turned into a werewolf lest those scars stick to her porcelain skin for life.

A shiver ran down his spine when his hands were held between two hands.

He could tell from how firmly these hands squeezed his that it was Evelyn’s.

Out of everyone, Evelyn reminded Rex the most of his mother, Mrs. Greene.

A woman who knew what she wanted, someone who could see the potential in him and demands more from him than others. But at the same time, she’s also the one who can give him strength and assurance. It was she who made him feel invincible.

Rex’s right hand flinched at a sting.

His blood burned and churned as Calidora’s fangs dug into his skin.

Unlike the others, her presence always made him feel uneasy.

But at the same time, she was also the one who always made him feel alert, even in his own home.

She made him remember his drill instructor back in the Noob Box, traumatizing him from sleeping to the point that it was rare for him to achieve deep sleep. And with how she was pregnant with his, she is really ruthless in keeping him on guard.

Once his daughter is born, things will get tricky.

Perhaps giving her away to Elder Tilrith wasn’t entirely a bad idea.

Not that Calidora would accept it easily, though.

Like a gust of passing wind, the sensation disappeared as Rex opened his eyes.

He was still inside the darkness, still longing for their touches, his home, but there was no time to idle.

Footsteps echoed from the cave’s mouth, approaching him deep in the darkness.

Rex pushed the voidal energy away, clearing the path to see who was coming, and through his sharp eyes, he saw Amanir and two other figures. Both of them he recognized almost instantly. He stood up and walked over, crossing his arms over his chest.

“I didn’t think you two would come,” He said with a levelled voice, hiding his surprise. “Are you sure about this?”
