Chapter 1196: Wraiths

Klaus wasn’t too surprised when he received ten void fragments from a single kill. The mere fact that he had started absorbing void fragments before he even slew a voidling showed the kind of farming he was about to do.

However, just out of curiosity, he decided to move closer to where the wraith was obliterated and see if there was something else waiting for him.

As expected, the moment he reached there, messages started appearing.

In the end, he had absorbed four more fragments, taking his current number of absorbed void fragments to 20.

“This is awesome,” Klaus muttered, causing his wives to smile. Watching him smile was enough for them. They did not care about what was making him happy.

As long as he was happy, they didn’t mind standing back and watching him have all the fun.

“This place is a gold mine. We should protect it for as long as we have the power to,” Klaus said, and his wives nodded.

“Looks like you are having a good time,” Hanna said, and Klaus nodded like a baby.

“I am having the best time. This place is perfect for me and anyone who wants to train in mastering the Void Law. It is the best place, in fact.”

The ladies nodded too. They had been here for years, and so they knew what he said was true. They had no plans of learning Void Law just yet. However, thanks to this place, they did.

If that isn’t the best, then there is no telling what is.

“Let’s head deeper. I can see more Wraiths coming,” Hanna said, causing Klaus to raise his brow.

“You can see them?”

From the moment they entered the void, their senses had been restricted to only a few meters. Klaus was fortunate to have his 1 km. However, he knew that it would be further restricted the deeper they went into the Void.

So he most certainly didn’t expect Hanna to see the Wraiths.

Of course, as an Archer, he knew Hanna’s sight was more advanced than most. However, he was also an archer, so how come he couldn’t see?

Seeing his expression, Hanna explained.

“When I gained the Void Affinity, I received a skill called Void Eyes. It allows me to see much deeper into the void. And well, now that I am at the Adept stage, I can see even deeper.”

“Wonderful.” Klaus smiled happily. “I once knew someone with Void Eyes. She could see millions of miles away and always knew when danger was coming.”

Klaus suddenly felt safe knowing Hanna was like their personal binoculars on this mission. Hanna smiled at Klaus’s words.

“How deep can you see?”

“I can see 400 miles into the void. However, I know once I level up, that will change. When I first received this skill, I could only see 4 miles deep into the void, but that multiplied a hundredfold when I reached the Adept stage.”

“I see. This is great, then.” Klaus turned to Kathy and Vida. “How about you ladies, any fancy void skills I should know about?”

Kathy was the first to answer. “I also received a skill called Void Piercer. It allows me to coat my spear with void energy and imbue the Void Law into it.

“Whenever I use it, the piercing force of my spear becomes much more lethal.”

“How lethal are we talking?”

“300 times more deadly. Of course, it drains Void Essence when used on the outside, but in here, I can go on for an hour.”

“That is wonderful, then.” Klaus smiled and turned to Vida. “And how about my titan beauty?”

Vida smiled and revealed her Void skill. “Mine is called Void Fist. Just like Kathy’s, I can also imbue the Void Law and energy into my fist, thereby allowing me to unleash lethal punches.

Because it is void energy, breaking through defenses becomes much easier. I can also project the fist by harnessing void energy. The projected fist contains so much force that, when used, it is not impossible to blow up mountains.”

Klaus always expected such a skill from her since she was literally made to punch harder. However, hearing her words, Klaus saw a new path open for her in the form of the Gravity Law.

If she could master both Void and Gravity, then there was no telling the limit of what she could achieve in the future.

Hanna and Kathy, of course, also had a path forward in both Void and Space Law. Mostly, Archers focused only on Space Law; however, this was sufficient since they could now master both.

“Let’s keep moving. Once we manage to push you ladies to the ‘high affinity’ stage, the focus will shift to how to better use your skills with other laws.”

They nodded, and soon, they saw the Wraiths coming.

“I will take the four on the left; you ladies should handle the six on the right.”

They nodded and moved.

Klaus walked toward the four Wraiths who sped at him, floating in the air, their tattered cloaks covering what looked like legs, yet Klaus knew there were no legs beneath those cloaks.

SCREEEECH

Klaus could hear high-pitched sounds coming from them as they approached him.

“Sonic attack.”

Klaus identified the screeching sound and warned his ladies.

“Be careful, girls. These Wraiths use sonic attacks. Seal your ears before getting much closer.”

They had long identified that too, so they sealed their ears and started attacking the Wraiths.

Klaus raised his finger again, and this time, four arrows made from golden lightning appeared in the air. Then, with a simple gesture forward, the arrows flew and blasted the Wraiths into nothing.

Klaus moved toward the spot where the Wraiths died and absorbed the residual fragments. After absorbing them, he seemed to have gained clarity.

“Looks like each Wraith gives 14 Void Fragments. This is due to their rank. Tier 14 giving 14 Void Fragments is only logical.”

He looked at his progress, and all he could do was smile.

Klaus turned and looked at his wives and saw they had also finished off their targets. He moved toward them, and well, as he expected, he absorbed more Void Fragments.

“14 Void Fragments, huh. That is less than I absorbed after the initial 10.” Klaus noticed the difference, but he didnt put much thought into it. There is more to kill, and so he will soon be swimming in Void Fragments.

“Just one more kill and I will gain Void Affinity.” Klaus beamed with joy, already looking forward to the Void skill he would receive.

He already had a Void skill called Void Step.

It came from the Nine Astra movement technique, which allows him to move through the void. He had yet to use it now that he is in the void, but he was more than ready to see something new.

“We have 30 Wraiths coming from 40 miles away. Three of them have blue eyes,” Hanna said, and Klaus smiled.

“Let’s greet them, shall we?”
