Chapter 3534: Resurged Threat of Destruction
Chapter 3534: Resurged Threat of Destruction
“If they are so effective, then why do they even have to bother partnering with others?” Elder Diana of the Heaven Sect raised an eyebrow as she gazed at the Emperor of Harmony. “Why have they made so many concessions?”
“Simply because while flora makes them extremely effective at mass wide-scale operations by the very nature of flora technology, they don’t have the military power to protect their flora from being destroyed,” the Emperor of Harmony replied. “These underwater plants can easily be destroyed by even the weakest of pathwalkers. That is why they need us and they need the therianthropes of Kiriket to protect them. Thus, we have a winning model. They farm, quite literally farm, the negatron matter at the very bottom of the depths of the oceans while beast tamers and Martial Artists protect them from those who seek to prevent the elves from getting their hands on too many resources.”
“The dark elves are trustworthy,” the leader of the Hive declared with a knowing expression. “They treat their allies with sincerity and trust. We can work with them for the betterment of both civilizations.”
“Hah…” Queen Linalia snorted. “Of course you jump to their defense, you’ve already betrayed your humanity by breeding with those tree humpers.”
The leader of the Hive bristled at those words. “We have not betrayed anybody! Take back those words!”
“Calm down.”
Emperor Rael’s voice was heavy as his golden eyes shifted to Queen Linalia. “That was uncalled for, Linalia. The Hive is a faithful and trustworthy member of our civilization. If you truly believe that breeding with another race is betraying your blood, then would you be inclined to give back all of your blood children?”
She stiffened at those words, closing her eyes. “You’re correct, that was uncalled for.”
There was no way she was giving back her blood children. The Solaris Kingdom had already lost them once because of racially targeted lynching of blood babies, and had struggled to get them back under the supervision of the Kandrian Empire.
Each hemosapien child was a living miracle that contained within them the potential to elevate their civilization to a higher echelon of power, making Queen Linalia kick herself for giving the Emperor of Harmony any opportunity to even broach the topic of taking them back.
“More importantly, the dark elves are rather desperate to get their hands on more negatron matter due to the fact that they are only getting half of what the therianthropes and we get,” Emperor Rael explained. “This means that they are very willing to trade technologies in exchange for negatron matter that can help us. We can instantly obtain cutting-edge wormhole technology of the elves and merge it with our world bridge technology to achieve a revolution in this technology. This will offer a great opportunity for us, however, it comes with its own perils, starting with…”
His expression grew serious.
“Teleportation ambushes and assassinations of powerful leaders and pathwalkers.”
The leaders across the table stiffened at those words.
“As I’m sure you know, negatron technology has the power to allow space anchors to be bypassed with how much it can amplify the magnitude of intensity of a wormhole,” the Emperor of Harmony continued. “The documentation of true world history that we have conducted reveals that more than a century ago, before the dwarves invented space anchor technology, wormhole assassinations plagued the world. It was an era where leaders had to go into hiding and ensure that their locations were as secure as possible so that none of them would succumb to assassinations. They were with powerful pathwalkers surrounding them in all directions, on constant high alert to ensure that they weren’t assassinated.”
He heaved a deep breath, directing a sweeping gaze across the table.
“That is the kind of life that all of us will have to deal with. The space anchors that we have acquired from the elves will no longer be effective, and all leaders in the world will have to hide.”
The atmosphere grew electric with peril.
“It’s not just the assassinations and ambushes,” Prime Minister Edward’s expression darkened. “They can mount teleportation siege attacks on our continent. With the improvement of negatron-enhanced wormhole technology, they can bypass the Great Nam Ocean and transfer all their forces to our continent. This… could be devastating to us.”
The reason that the Panama Continent had managed to defend itself and deter attacks was due to the fact that the Great Nam Ocean protected them, thanks to their little security agreement with the World Serpent Jormungandr, who controlled the monsters.
With negatron-enhanced wormholes, the deterrence of the ocean was no longer effective. Their enemies, like the Evolutionary Army and the Imperial Tekvorian Federation, could now just teleport their entire army to their continent in supermassive wormholes the size of a skyscraper or even larger.
“We could be ravaged by invasions once more.”
Emperor Rael’s voice was heavy.
Grave.
It reflected the sheer gravity of the situation.
“We could be destroyed once and for all by our enemies.”
All his political calculations were destroyed by the appearance of the negatron mines that were forming at the bottom of the Great Void Ocean, even as they convened.
“Thankfully, we have some time.”
Emperor Rael’s voice was heavy.
“Our enemies will not redirect attention to try to invade us while everybody is mining negatron matter. They will focus all their efforts on mining. Any effort against us is less effort in mining negatrons, which means they will lose the race. For the next few years, we will not have to worry about a teleported siege yet. But once all countries have mined the lowest hanging fruits, then…”
His golden eyes sharpened. “It will be open season on us.”
His words carried with them the weight of everything that was at stake.
“We must find a solution to this problem before the advent of teleported army invasions; most likely, it will involve some kind of technological solution…”
Everybody’s gaze shifted to the Esoterist, who appeared content and silent.
